Our 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport was hit by a driver who at the last minute decided not to turn right therefore he hit my wife who clearly driving straight heading eastbound. I backed into a neighbor's car and scraped my rear bumper. At another repair shop, I was quoted $800 to fix (probably for parts?). Anyways, went to Caliber and Gilbert first cleaned the area to see how deep the scrape was...he cleaned it off, then polished the area. For free! Once he cleaned it, I noticed there was a crack, so maybe the other guy saw that, and that's why he quoted me the $800. It would have been nice if that repair shop had taken the time to wipe the area to get a clear sense of the damage, especially as they had my car in their shop for a few days. This is my second time taking my car to this shop for the same reason getting rear ended the services where done back in Oct 2023 and I brought it in because the bumper was a little off. Gilbert helped out since day one he's been really nice and attentive to my needs. Beware of Gilbert Vargas and team!! My concerns were correct--it seems they do have a history of unethical practices with insurance claims. The quote was outrageous for a minor accident.. a small trip down the street to another body shop saved me thousands of dollars. I would caution anybody coming here... make sure to shop multiple body shops before this one... I would only choose this one if you're Mark Cuban and have a lot of money to waste. They will charge you 3-4x what any other normal auto-body shop will... and with these reviews, will not change how they operate. Long-term, this team will cost great relationships with customers who have been loyal for a long time. They did a great job on my repairs and Jose was the nicest guy to work with! But when I asked for a quote to fix my cracked windshield, they quoted me $800!!! I drive a Mazda 3 2011 so I was shocked to say the least. I feel that if insurance is paying for something, it'll be a low quote because they want to keep their business but once something is going to be paid out of pocket, it sky rockets cause they're not worried about losing a single persons business. My truck repair took forever and work was ok at best. After completion which took approx 3 months - I had to bring my truck back because there were electric issues that were broken. Communication was poor and I always had to seek my own updates on their incorrect timeline. The two days that it took to repair the electric issues I was told by Jose my Service Rep that because they couldn't complete the repair that day for me to just take an Uber home and back to work the following day and that his Manager has already confirmed that he would reimburse me for whatever fees I incurred. This was over 2 months ago and to date they have not reimbursed me. I keep getting the "check is in the mail" run around. No responses to my emails or calls - totally disappointed. I even called in to Gregg the Manager and he promised me my refund but he also didn't follow thru. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

My 10 year old Honda S2000 now looks brand new thanks to Nick and his team here. I was in a fender bender and I sought out caliber collision since they appear to be a recognized chain of auto body shops. The closer one in Irvine had mediocre reviews, so I stopped in here instead. The work was estimated less than my deductible so I thought I'd shop around a bit and do it on the cheap. As soon as I walk in, a service manager said he'd be able to beat my existing estimate. Nick takes a look and after crunching the numbers, it turns out they couldn't. Even after reducing some labor costs he was at a loss at to how my original estimate was so low (I didn't have it on me). Turns out the other shop I went to planned on going with a refurb bumper instead of an OEM one which was a cost difference of about $300. Their default is to do the work correctly and not on the budget. I am very happy with Nick's communication as he called me on two occasions telling me where I could reduce the cost a little bit if I wanted to cut corners since he knew I was paying out of pocket, and another time to tell me everything was on schedule and on budget. I never got the run around, the staff was responsive, Nick was always available when I called, and most importantly, the workmanship of the technicians was flawless. I will recommend these folks to friends and family. With the additional advice: If you are making an insurance claim, come here first and ask for Nick. If you are paying out of pocket, get an estimate elsewhere first. read more
