DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! It took 4.5 WEEKS TO GET MY BUMPER REPAIRED CORRECTLY! My car got hit while it was parked, the front bumper needed to be replaced. It was a fairly minor incident. They had my car for two weeks. They called me to tell me it was ready, I dropped off my rental car, I went to pick up my car and there were paint chips all over the new bumper. It was misaligned and it looked horrible, I told him I would not be taking it home. They needed to fix it correctly. They had it for ANOTHER WEEK, the guy that was in charge of the repairs called me on Friday 19 minutes before they closed leaving me a voicemail telling me to come pick up my car, with no advance notice. There's no way I could've got there before they closed. When I called back, I got their call center. I drive over there Monday. I'm barely out of my rental at least 10 feet away from my car and I can already see that the bumper is misaligned again and the grill is crooked. I am beyond frustrated. I go into the front office and I asked to see a manager, he was out to lunch, I asked Margaret the front desk person to come and take a look with me (she is amazing by the way) she saw the misalignment as I did. It was a disaster. I was not driving it off their lot. I get back home, a couple hours later the manager Daniel called me, telling me that he's going to inspect it and make sure that everything is correct and 110% so the next time I go to pick up my car we won't have any issues. He calls the next day, I was in a meeting so he left me a voicemail (picture of his voicemail is attached). His voicemail tells me that he pulled my car apart, and he noticed that there were still broken brackets, and that other pieces and parts needed to be replaced such as the grill... The fact that this is the THIRD TIME that this company pulled my car apart, and it STILL HAS BROKEN BRACKETS and needs parts to be replaced is so UNBELIEVABLY UNACCEPTABLE! What if I had just gotten in and drove away? Either of the two times they tried to get me to pick up my car?!? I did not take this to some local mom and pop shop. I took my car to a large nationally recognized chain, hoping for additional quality, clearly that was not the case. Do not take your car here save your FRUSTRATION and more importantly your TIME! It has now been 4 1/2 weeks. When I went to pick up my car, Daniel was making all these lifetime warranty promises and other BS, I will never take my car back to these shady incompetent people! (If you look at the words in the voicemail, he says he's not positive that my car will be done today, but the parts they need aren't arriving tomorrow. They need to stop making promises and commitments that they cannot fill, and just be HONEST... IT TOOK ANOTHER WEEK TO FIX MY CAR FOR THE THIRD TIME!) read more

They said 4 to six weeks now it looks like 8 weeks. This is not good. I'm paying thousands to rent a car.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO CALIBER COLLISION IF YOU EXPECT A COMPLETE, DOCUMENTED AND UNBIASED POST-ACCIDENT EVALUATION. CALIBER COLLISION OF COSTA MESA RETURNED MY DAUGHTER'S VEHICLE UNSAFE AFTER AN ACCIDENT. Before you trust them with your vehicle, know what happened to us: * Returned my teenage daughter a vehicle with two broken/torn motor mounts * Failed to identify that the engine had reportedly shifted approximately 1.5 inches * Failed to identify damage/puncture to the exhaust system * Could not produce an engine inspection, inspection notes, or photographs showing the engine or motor mounts were evaluated * Submitted a claim to State Farm addressing essentially the visible/cosmetic damage while serious mechanical damage went unidentified * Manager Jordan denied the additional damage was accident-related despite being unable to provide evidence that Caliber inspected these areas when the vehicle originally arrived * Referenced Caliber's preferred-vendor relationship with State Farm when explaining his position We brought my daughter's Jeep to Caliber Collision expecting a thorough post-accident evaluation--not simply a repair of the damage visible from the outside. The vehicle was repaired and returned to my daughter to drive. An independent mechanic later discovered that the engine had reportedly shifted approximately 1.5 inches, both motor mounts were broken/torn, and there was damage to the exhaust system. I returned the Jeep to Caliber and spoke directly with Jordan, the manager of the Costa Mesa location. I asked him to provide the original engine inspection, notes and photographs showing the condition of the engine and motor mounts when Caliber initially evaluated the vehicle. He could not provide them. Once the Jeep was put on a rack, the damaged motor mounts were visible. I asked Caliber to amend the original claim and submit the additional damage to State Farm. Jordan the manager agreed to send photographs but told me he was not going to say the damage was caused by the original accident. He also referenced Caliber being a preferred vendor of State Farm and the importance of maintaining that relationship. That was incredibly concerning to hear. If Caliber has no photographs, inspection report or documentation showing the condition of the engine and motor mounts when the Jeep originally arrived, how can its manager definitively conclude afterward that the damage wasn't related to the accident? More importantly, how was my daughter's vehicle considered safe to return to her if these critical areas were never documented as inspected? I am now being asked to provide evidence connecting the damage to the accident, while the facility entrusted to inspect the vehicle cannot provide a single original photograph showing the condition of the engine or motor mounts when it arrived. If you do use Caliber, insist on seeing all photographs, inspection notes and everything submitted to your insurance company before accepting your vehicle back. Making a damaged vehicle look repaired is not enough. A collision repair facility has a responsibility to make sure the vehicle it returns to a family is safe to drive. That is where Caliber Collision of Costa Mesa failed my daughter read more

Great customer service. Will give u a quote very fast while you watch. Easy peasy the people who work there are super friendly and they even gave me a ride to the rental car place, which was a very nice touch. read more

BEWARE THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!! I never leave reviews but felt I had to in this case. I went in for a quote because my front lip dislodged from my bumper and my fog light had been pushed inward. They quoted me $3600, said I needed a new bumper, new fog light, new lip, $2000 in parts and $1600 in labor and told me to file an insurance claim. I went over to Harbor Auto Service and they told me my fog light just needed to be clipped in and lip screwed back in for a total of $86! Avoid at all costs they will ream those who don't know any better for insurance money. Disgusting read more

Caliber Collision did so great in repairs done for my Tacoma. I was involved in a minor accident that damaged my whole right side of my truck, and the estimate process and cost for repairs was transparent from the beginning. Services requested and exceeded expectations and also communication through the days and weeks while the Tacoma was being fixed helped make me feel comfortable with my decision. I definitely would recommend coming here for an estimate and if possible having this team here at this location help out and make sure your vehicle gets the proper attention and repairs needed. Thanks again caliber collision! read more

I had a little fender bender and was sent to Caliber from my insurance. I worked with Sharon and she was awesome. She was so communicative throughout the experience, got my car out faster than expected, and even helped with a couple things that she didn't have to. Our 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport was hit by a driver who at the last minute decided not to turn right therefore he hit my wife who clearly driving straight heading eastbound. My insurance company suggested to have our vehicle repaired at Caliber Collision Center. The manager Gilbert accessed the damage and I gave him the go ahead to repair . Every step of the way Gilbert would call me with updates on my repair . My vehicle took 20 days to repair but I was expecting it to be longer since parts are hard to get nowadays. And to make everything even better Gilbert took my vehicle to my home personally delivered it and explained all the repairs they did and told me about the guarantees on the repair . I have no hesitation what so ever in recommending Caliber Collision Center in Costa Mesa . See below before and after . Thank you Gilbert and Caliber Collision. read more

After hitting a pothole, my car needed repairs. My insurance company recommended Caliber Collision in Costa Mesa. They were great. Eric kept communication open and often. The shop and it staff were professional and made the repair process easy. They went the extra mile to make sure my car's repairs were Mercedes approved using Mercedes parts. Caliber made sure my car was returned in "Pre Accident Condition" and did a wonderful job. My car was returned spotless and Caliber in Costa Mesa did an excellent job. I would use them again. I highly recommend them. Special shout out to Eric and Daniella. Beth M. Guzman 5/13/2024 read more

I backed into a neighbor's car and scraped my rear bumper. At another repair shop, I was quoted $800 to fix (probably for parts?). Anyways, went to Caliber and Gilbert first cleaned the area to see how deep the scrape was...he cleaned it off, then polished the area. For free! Once he cleaned it, I noticed there was a crack, so maybe the other guy saw that, and that's why he quoted me the $800. It would have been nice if that repair shop had taken the time to wipe the area to get a clear sense of the damage, especially as they had my car in their shop for a few days. Thanks, Gilbert, for your time! I would also like to add that I've visited other Caliber locations over the years and am always satisfied with the work. read more

Beware of Gilbert Vargas and team!! My concerns were correct--it seems they do have a history of unethical practices with insurance claims. The quote was outrageous for a minor accident.. a small trip down the street to another body shop saved me thousands of dollars. I would caution anybody coming here... make sure to shop multiple body shops before this one... I would only choose this one if you're Mark Cuban and have a lot of money to waste. They will charge you 3-4x what any other normal auto-body shop will... and with these reviews, will not change how they operate. Long-term, this team will cost great relationships with customers who have been loyal for a long time. I would avoid doing business with this company and supporting this fraudulent, unethical behavior. Please avoid and don't support these businesses. read more

They did a great job on my repairs and Jose was the nicest guy to work with! But when I asked for a quote to fix my cracked windshield, they quoted me $800!!! I drive a Mazda 3 2011 so I was shocked to say the least. I feel that if insurance is paying for something, it'll be a low quote because they want to keep their business but once something is going to be paid out of pocket, it sky rockets cause they're not worried about losing a single persons business. By the way, I got another quote from someone down the street to replace the whole thing for $220..installation included. read more

This is my second time taking my car to this shop for the same reason getting rear ended the services where done back in Oct 2023 and I brought it in because the bumper was a little off. My truck repair took forever and work was ok at best. After completion which took approx 3 months - I had to bring my truck back because there were electric issues that were broken. Communication was poor and I always had to seek my own updates on their incorrect timeline. The two days that it took to repair the electric issues I was told by Jose my Service Rep that because they couldn't complete the repair that day for me to just take an Uber home and back to work the following day and that his Manager has already confirmed that he would reimburse me for whatever fees I incurred. This was over 2 months ago and to date they have not reimbursed me. I keep getting the "check is in the mail" run around. No responses to my emails or calls - totally disappointed. I even called in to Gregg the Manager and he promised me my refund but he also didn't follow thru. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more
