Had car repaired in April, finding excessive and uneven tire wear after the alignment performed as part of the repair. Have asked them to address the issue and being told that an alignment is only good for five months and they are taking no responsibility for the quality of the work performed. Very disappointed. They have refused to stand behind quality of workmanship of their vendor for this service and not offering to help. Escalated to a BAR complaint and insurance provider. Paint repair was minimal but acceptable, slight overspray on headlamp that I had to correct. Generally fine but warranty doesn't appear to be of value. Got in a very small fender bender where the bumper just popped out of place in a few spots, me and the other guy brought our cars here to get a quote and avoid going through insurance to see if they could just put new clips to reattach the guys already messed up bumper prior to the collision. Ben was rude the entire time, looked at the bumper for about a whole 5 seconds and said he would send us a quote. Leave and an hour later this guy sends me an invoice for over $1k NOT including labor for a 2002 Nissan Altima with all sorts of random fees that they squeeze in there. The guy refused to listen as to what we were trying to get done and just tried to do the easiest thing for them to make the most money and just charge for a brand new bumper/new paint which the car did not need, it only needed a few clips to re attach the bumper which I told the guy. I went just down the road to Rigo's Auto Body and got a 2nd opinion thankfully and was treated completely different then from Sandpiper. Ended up getting quoted for $200 for parts AND labor and the bumper was right back to normal. I'm a young kid and clearly didn't have that kind of money to spare but of course this place could care less about actually helping someone out. If you're rich or just going through insurance and don't care about money and like being treated poorly then sure bring you're car here. Otherwise I recommend somewhere else. read more

So my neighbor grazed my truck while parking in our garage by accident. I searched for Best Repair Shops close to me but n Google. I found a few places to choose from in my area some were unresponsive or did not want to help me for a small repair. Then I came across Sandpiper Collision girl Vanessa answered the phone told me to come in as soon as I can to get it inspected told me not to worry at all if this wasn't a recommended shop that State Farm was telling me to go they would handle everything. I was so relieved. Rudy came out when I pulled up inspected it and gave me a wonderful print out with the cost labor everything laid out in black and white. After that I called in with some questions because the insurance company was jacking me around and Ben Lawson the Customer Service Manager explained everything very clearly and told me to go through the app of taking pictures and having them do the estimate themselves. After that I was going to bring it to them and he would handle the rest with State Farm if there was more charges applied. What a relief because I was not at fault here so a long drawn out process just to be made whole can make it even more frustrating. Ben was very attentive and gave me the respect of a major repair for a minor repair job. He even had the part ordered painted clear coated all ready to go so my truck was only there from 11am-3:30pm! That's record time! State Farm told me it was going to be at least two days and I need my truck for work was nervous if I had to rent a car but Ben eliminated all of that with his expertise and knowledge of the industry. I highly recommend this body shop to anyone that is in need of good honest high quality work done efficiently with least amount of time away from your vehicle as possible!! I will absolutely go back, Ben and his team even gave me the number for a door ding dent guy even though they don't do that work he still took the time to help me. Couldn't recommend this place more! I was involved in an accident where someone merged into me, and my insurance (Mercury) recommended this place since it was close to my home. I worked with Ben, and he was the absolute best! Very knowledgeable about the process and helped me out with other random questions I had about general car accidents, insurance, and the overall length of time for the car repair. He gave me a length of time, and each week, called me up to give me updates about the process and the current state of the car. Such great customer service from him AND the other staff in the office! Be warned, paint work is sub-par compared to other shops. The tiniest scuff will cause their cheap paint work chip off! Shop wasted my time with 3 visits for inspection only to blame me in the end so they wouldn't have to honor their warranty. Manager said it looks like something "hit" the car, but there's no signs of damage. They also use cheaper aftermarket parts that don't fit correctly like the stock ones did. Gave them every chance to make it right before my review and I'm happy to take my business elsewhere as should you! read more

These guys are great. The other parties insurance company sent me here to get my car inspected. They were thorough and even add more to initial report. I could have taken it to another shop but this shop is half a block away and didn't do the inspection again. Once the insurance company allowed for repairs they got right to work. The day I dropped the car off was a bit different as it was the first Monday of all the quarantine. It was a bit crazy but Sandy and my guy Richard were on top of everything. I came in with my paint scratched on the bumper and it was a little off from a hit and run, when it was expected for it to be 3 days to be fixed they found more damage under the bumper but I was happy that they were on it, and I didn't expect it to be done so soon. I'm super happy with the results, and would recommend anyone to come here for their car especially if they want it done with quality. I just recently brought a motorcycle tank to be re-painted here. After many miles I had some chips on the front as well as a scrape on the right side of the tank. I worked with Aaron who told me that he would not consider the job done until it matched the original appearance. The initial prep and first stages of paint were done within 1 week. Good turn-around on the first go. After bringing the tank home and comparing to the fenders, it was just a bit off. The bike came with a matte/light gloss finish and the tank was flat black (matte black). Aaron said to wait at least 2 weeks and keep the tank in a warm dry place so the paint can cure and to bring a fender or other piece so his painter could match the look and feel of the original paint. I brought the tank back in 3 weeks later with a fender and Aaron had his painter handle it immediately. 24-hour turn around will always win in my book - especially when it looks as good as when the bike was brand new. 5/5 on customer service and quality. read more

Do not go here or any of their network of body shops. I started repairs on my car at Sandpiper Collision in Costa Mesa and had to bring it to their parent shop, Tustin Body Works due to warranty work issues and more damages found on my car after it was returned to me. This is the parent shop where the GM, Ray Jarvis, works out of. Not only did the original shop (SandPiper) have my car for more than 30 days for a simple rear window replacement and some minor body damage, but also exhausted the rental car allowance on my insurance. When I brought the car back to repair additional damages found on my car and to re-do the rear window since they installed defective glass in the first place, they promised to pick up the rental car tab then never paid it - it was $850. One of their employees, Jonathan Rivas promised that he would personally get a check from their parent shop to pay for the rental car. When I went to go pick up the car the second time, their store manager, Aaron Lawson said they made no such promises and told me to go talk to their GM, Ray Jarvis. He did not let me talk to Jonathan to verify his promises. When I came home, I checked the car over (yes it was dark when I picked up the car since it was after work) and found my headlamps had deep scratches from who knows what. I had pictures from before drop off and after, and the GM simply said the pictures were not clear enough to be able to tell. The photos were as clear as day to anyone else who saw them including an Allstate rep. The paint job also was pretty terrible - no blending between rear quarter panel and doors - causing them to look a different color. when I complained, the GM said its industry standard. Not believing them, I asked for their paint supply rep and met them to show them Tustin Body Work's paint job. Only when the paint supply rep from Akzo Nobel said no this is not industry standard and that they should redo the paint work, Ray Jarvis took the car back a third time to work on it some more including a bunch of over spray issues under the hood and plastic parts and glass they didnt bother protecting. They also use plain brown masking tape, not blue painter's tape - which leaves residues all over your car. No customer should have to go through so many hoops to prove that their work was not up to par and that they should provide warranty work. At least for the third repair, Ray Jarvis picked up the tab for rental car. Then when I mentioned going to Bureau of Automotive Repairs to complain, Ray Jarvis tried to settle and give me half of the $850 owed for rental car if I didnt complain to Bureau of Automotive Repairs or told me to take a hike. I was appalled but had to take what they would give me for the time being. At least then I was guaranteed half of what I was owed. Also, they do not own a proper polisher that are multi-directional and will leave "holograms" on your car. It will take a detailer many hours to polish out these "holograms" that are caused by dirty polishing pads and improper technique. make sure you check over your car with a fine toothed comb if you take your car here, and make sure you put it in direct sunlight on all sides. if you don't know about detailing cars or have no experience, talk to a knowledgeable detailer. You will learn a ton about what they are doing wrong. Now when I go in the sun, my car looks like it has a hologram tiger print. Once you leave and come back, they will make all kinds of excuses and make your life living hell to try to get your car back to the shape you delivered the car in. This is simply not how businesses are supposed to operate. I really hope anyone reading this will think twice about giving them business. I took the car in for initial service in September of 2016 and just got it back from the third service April 2017. PM me for additional details if you have any questions. read more

I know from being a business owner myself. My family has used Sandpiper several times & highly recommended them. Sandpiper's customer service was beyond amazing! They were very knowledgeable from the start about the repairs needed on my car & they handled it all with the insurance. There were some things the insurance didn't cover but by no fault of Sandpiper, that's the insurance being cheap & unhelpful. Ben kept me abreast of everything throughout the entire time he had my car. I rarely had questions because he answered them before I needed to ask. Sandra & Rudy were just as courteous & helpful as Ben. The whole accident ordeal has been a nightmare in so many ways but Sandpiper helped ease the burden by being SO AMAZING!!! Aaron was courtesy and attentive and took time to try to figure out the issue which was related to the latch. I cannot recommend Sandpiper Collision enough! I was in a minor fender bender when the car behind me rolled into my car, leaving behind two round indentations from the bolts of the license-plate frame. I called my insurance company, Mercury Casualty, who gave me a list of nearby body shops that they work with. I called Sandpiper and made an appointment to get an estimate that afternoon. The estimate only took a few minutes. I didn't want to be without my car for the weekend, so I called on Monday to schedule a time to drop off my car for the repairs. When I came in after work, the receptionist greeted me by name and had me sign a few documents and reminded me to take my garage door opener and other necessities with me. Jack, who took care of the estimate, said my car would probably be ready Thursday afternoon. And sure enough, a few minutes before noon on Thursday, he called to say I could come pick it up. I could not believe how awesome my car looked when I got it back. Not only did they fix the two indentations, they also fixed every scratch and paint chip from years worth of damage! My car looked practically brand new. And it was clean from top to bottom, the best wash my car has had in years! Sandpiper Collision does the body and paint repair for CA Beemers, next door to them. They did a repaint of some panels of my 2010 BMW 328i Coupe, color Space Gray Metallic. There were some bad paint issues with the car, so CA Beemers where I bought the car, sent me to them. They were supposed to paint the hood, left front fender and left door. When I picked it up, the manager Aaron Lawson told me that they also painted the right front fender because it didn't look quite right to him. The paint looks awesome and I'm just giddy with my car. My car was parked on the street and in the middle of the night, a drunk driver slammed in to it and did major damage to my vehicle-- in all honestly, I should have pushed to have the car totalled out, but it was only 3 months old and the original estimate from Sandpiper Collision was for $9000, so my insurance company agreed to have the car repaired. The original estimate also stated that it would take three weeks-- it ended up taking five. Once I got the car back, it would vibrate at speeds above 50 mph-- they hadn't fixed the alignment and had to replace another tire on the vehicle. Ok, another three days without a car. Also, they put all my insignia on wrong or just didn't place it at all. Now it's been another year and I notice some wires hanging from the bottom of my car-- I take it to the dealership and they tell me that I'm missing a large piece on the bottom of my car that is supposed to protect everything under there-- this is Not Good because I take my car camping/on dirt roads and it would be really easy for major and expensive damage to be done in a place where I wouldn't be able to obtain a tow -- Now I'm going to have to call Sandpiper and try to schedule an appointment to get my car fixed (something that will likely take another full week, me without a car in the meantime), and it looks like they're going to fight me on getting it fixed (based on other reviews). Worst of all, the final cost of the repairs was over $13,000 on a car that only cost $18,000-- so the car DEFINITELY should have been totalled out and I should have taken my settlement and bought another new car! Now I'm stuck, upside-down in this junkheap that's just exited it's warranty and is likely to have two years of problems before I'm able to pay it off enough to trade it in and start the process of car ownership all over again. SO BEWARE -- if Mercury recommends this repair shop to you, do your best to find somewhere else to get your car repaired. EDIT -- I went in, they confirmed that they "missed" the shields on their specs when they did the repair work, even though they showed me a printout of the specs with the undercarriage shields CLEARLY on there. Anyway, they're going to order them, then I'm going to have to schlep down from Los Angeles to get them put on the car which will probably take 15 minutes. read more

Don't bring your business to this establishment! You know those body shops who are super nice to you when you first walk in and then the moment one thing goes wrong customer service goes out the window. That was my experience with the Customer Service Manager, Collin O' Brien--he should really find a new job because I actually received a professional threat from him so not sure why he would chose customer service as his profession! He also has this position at Tustin Body Works and C&W Paint and Body--so heads up. Long story short, I was sent here because someone hit my parked car--just some paint removed-he had Mercury insurance. Went in and Collin and the front office seemed very pleasant..told me he couldn't really estimate the paint job cuz they'd have to do a full assessment for the correct estimate. I assumed this was my only option to get a quote. I proceeded to sign a bunch of papers. I was later given a call with the actual full estimate and he was calling for permission to proceed--I said I preferred to take my car to a body shop I am more familiar with. He said one of the papers I signed stated I would have to pay $120. Truthfully, I sign things without reading all the pages. But I have the paper in front of me now it says its $120 for "Tear down and Inspect Vehicle for damage and prepare estimate" in lamens terms they charged me for a full quote. I told him if I had signed I would pay but I disagreed with it. Collin said they had to charge me for "tearing down" my car--I got really upset b/c my bumper had some paint rubbed off and I didn't feel it was necessary to take off anything besides my bumper. He said it was because the mechanics of the car could be affected (these were lies as you will read later). And here's the professional threat-- Collin (very rude /threatening voice): We need time to "put your car back together" so we have to make an appointment if you want to pick it up. Andddd I want to tell you in advance that don't know if we can put your bumper back on. Like really!??? You have an arsenal of professional body shop workers, your customer service manager of 3 shops and you can't even give me my car the way I gave it to you! The way he said it was a professional threat--I really couldn't sleep that night and kept thinking he would probably just give me my car with the bumper detached or do something harmful to my car--that's how the conversation ended--I said goodbye and he hung up!! How is he Customer Service Manager??? I came to the shop with my Dad the next morning. Fortunately, I was greeted by 2 nice people who I believe he had out to null the situation. He walked past me once looked angry, didn't make eye contact, and gave my keys to someone else opposed to hand it to me--basically 11 year old behavior. He was lucky I didn't feel disrespected again in-person because I was entirely prepared to contact his real boss, the Bureau, and Mercury insurance about this establishment (In fact, if this review is removed--these are still valid options I would do). I ended up asking the front why they had to "tear down" my car because it wasn't warranted..they said it was just "car lingo" and they had only removed my bumper (hence, not what Collin said)--this made me feel a lot better. I can only assume Collin stated otherwise so that I would feel the $120 is warranted-but having someone who is disrespectful and dislikes me piecing my car back together is worrisome because I do not trust him. Also, I gave my car to a body shop before who removed my bumper in front of me in less than 10 min and didn't charge me but whatever--I paid and didn't complain one bit because it just wasn't worth a headache. I gave my car to a different repair shop who charged me 1/3 the price!! Yes 1/3 the price; my car looks wonderful. I'm about to start my new chapter in school to become a Doctor, and I learned an important lesson in terms of how to treat my future patients--which is everything Collin did not do in this situation. Hopefully, the money they took from me was worth it for them. If even one person reads this and delves away from this establishment that will be enough for me. read more

I've got to say, I was hesitant to bring my car here after reading some of these reviews. I'm soooooo glad I did. Their customer service was top notch. Tayna(?) called me to let me know they had received the paperwork from Mercury before I even took my car in. I decided to take it in the next day and they have a deal with Enterprise for car rental I was indecisive about renting a car. So she informed me I could decided when ever I wanted and they would make they arrangements for me at a rate of $20 a day. I searched around and found that I couldn't find a better rate(insurance company's were still processing who's fault. And I was concerned I would be stuck with the bill.) So I called Tanya and everything was smooth sailing for the car rental. The first day they had my car I received a phone call,Chris(?), quoting me the $$$ damage. Two days later Chris called again to let me know they were in the process of repairing my car. A few days after that I got a call letting me know my car was now being painted. The next day I was informed my Mirror would be here the following day and installed and that my car should be ready the following day.
