I brought my daughter's vehicle in for repairs following a front-end collision. Throughout the process, communication was inconsistent, and I frequently had to call the shop--approximately every two days--to obtain updates on the repair status. When the vehicle was collected, the front bumper appeared loose. This concern was raised immediately by my wife at pickup. She was informed by the service advisor that the insurance provider (Progressive) required the use of aftermarket or used parts and that the correct bumper was not available. She was advised that any further concerns would need to be addressed directly with the insurance company. Due to health issues at the time, my daughter was unable to follow up, so I later inspected the vehicle myself. In addition to the bumper not appearing securely installed, the front fender liners were missing. I contacted the shop and was told that they would reach out to the insurance adjuster to request authorization for corrective repairs and would follow up with me. After not receiving a response, I contacted the shop again and received similar information. I then contacted Progressive directly and was eventually advised to return the vehicle to Caliber so they could document the needed corrections. The vehicle was brought back to the shop, photos were taken, and I was told I would be contacted once the appropriate parts were available. After another period without communication, I followed up again and was advised to continue working with the insurance company. When I escalated the matter with Progressive, I was informed that the shop indicated the vehicle had been delivered properly repaired and that the current condition may have resulted from a separate incident after the repair. This did not align with my understanding of the situation, as the issues were observed immediately at pickup. We later contacted the location's management to express our concerns. Unfortunately, the discussion did not result in a resolution, and responsibility for the concerns appears to remain in dispute. For context, I previously had a repair completed at the Caliber Collision Plano location, where communication, professionalism, and overall experience were significantly better. Based on that experience, I would recommend considering that location instead. I have also submitted a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau so that the experience is documented.

I went to this shop because my A/C was not cooling, and I specifically told them that I do not know much about cars. I was simply looking for an honest diagnosis of what was wrong with my A/C. Instead of properly diagnosing the problem first, I was told that they could not know what the real problem was until they put refrigerant (Freon) in the system. I was encouraged to authorize this service, and I ended up paying approximately $220. After they charged me the $220 and added the refrigerant, they came back and told me that the A/C compressor was not working and needed to be replaced, and that the repair would cost approximately $1,300. This is what makes me extremely upset: If the compressor was not functioning, why wasn't that checked and explained to me BEFORE I was charged $220? I came in for an A/C diagnosis, not to blindly pay for a service that apparently did not solve the problem. My husband then called the shop and asked why the repair was going to cost $1,300. He was told that the compressor alone was $985, with labor making up the rest. My husband immediately checked the price of the compressor for our specific vehicle and found that the part was available for around $400 and a little more, nowhere near the $985 we were quoted. When my husband questioned the price and asked why he was being told the compressor cost $985, the person on the phone seemed to get uncomfortable and then changed the explanation, saying it was because of the warranty. That response did not make sense to us and completely destroyed our trust in the shop. What bothers me the most is that I specifically told them that I didn't know much about cars. I trusted them to give me an honest diagnosis and fair advice. Instead, I feel like my lack of automotive knowledge was used against me. I paid $220, and my A/C still does not work. Then I was told I need to spend another $1,300 to replace the compressor. A good repair shop should diagnose the problem first, clearly explain what is wrong, explain the options, and give the customer a fair and transparent price BEFORE taking their money. The customer service was also extremely disappointing. The man at the front seemed more interested in taking my money than making sure I understood what was actually wrong with my vehicle. I would NOT recommend this shop. If you don't know much about cars, I would be especially cautious. Get a second opinion and check the price of the parts yourself before authorizing anything. I went there expecting an honest A/C check and left feeling like I had been taken advantage of. $220 later, my A/C still doesn't work, and now I'm being asked for another $1,300. Got there 5 minutes before my appointment and was asked to reschedule. Then was told if I wait the car might be looked at by the end of the day. I asked if they accepted walk ins in front of me and what is the point of making an appointment time and I was told they are allowed to overbook online appointments. I will never come here again. Was willing to spend whatever it took to get my A/C fixed for the family car, but have changed my mind due to this terrible experience.
