I had a terrible experience with Cali Reglazing. They were hired to fix cracks in my tub, but they ended up doing sloppy work, carving a chunk out of my tub, and leaving it uneven. They swindled me for an extra $100, and the extra work they did didn't even solve the problem. I want to warn anyone about my horrible experience so they don't go through the same thing I did.
On October 10th, I posted a request on Angie's List to fix the cracks in my apartment's tub. Sandra from Cali Reglazing contacted me, and we agreed to a cash deal with a scheduled appointment for Friday the 13th. She assured me that all I needed was cash.
Two workers arrived on the 13th day, and Rene, the main worker, proposed additional work for $100 to prevent water from pooling in the corner. Although his explanation was vague, I reluctantly agreed because he said to trust him, which proved to be a major mistake.
The fiberglass repair fumes were so strong that I could only take a quick, distant glance at their work, which was another misstep on my part. I paid them in cash, and they left.
Sandra later called to verify the job's completion and sent an invoice. I informed her of the extra $100 due to the additional work, and she contacted Rene to clarify. She called back and said he explained it to me, which led me to take a closer look.
Upon inspection, I realized the extent of the damage they had done. They had cut a chunk out of my tub and created an uneven, sloppy dip, further damaging the tub. I was renting the apartment, and their actions will cost me my security deposit.
I was upset and let Sandra know what they did and sent pics, and she told me to call Rene. I called Rene and told him that I wouldn't have agreed to such a huge alteration if I had known. Their work was both uneven and sloppy, far from the quality they claimed to deliver. In addition, the extra work they did was messy and horrible.
