Transport finally arrived and drivers entered medical office to retrieve patient and helped themselves to coffee making the patient wait another 20 minutes. The two men finally transported the patient to the parking lot and proceeded to smoke on the premises of the clinic, making the patient sit and wait. Drivers were informed no smoking on the clinic premises. Unacceptable service making a client wait even longer to be transported back to his home.

That being said, the experience this morning was awful. We scheduled a pick up at 7:15 for an 8:15 appointment about 15 miles away. I scheduled it with that time due to traffic. So, at 7:25, there is no pick up, so I called the office and left a message since they were closed. At 7:35, I called again since time was getting tight. I did get a call back and the gentleman on the line said, "I'm sorry. We scheduled the pick up time incorrectly. It's in the system for 9:15. We'll refund your money and reschedule for another time." My father is bed bound, suffers from vertigo, and doesn't do well on car trips. It's not easy to get him in his wheel chair. He has no use of his arms or legs, so it's not really easy to get him ready to go. And, it's not easy to get him to an appointment. Thanks for nothing. I am never using this service again and caution you to think twice before using a service that's created for people who need specialized assistance to transport themselves to and from medical appointments. I would ask the company to start sending out confirmation notices. The only confirmation I got was an email that said my credit card was charged. Once again, all they care about is your money.

I had called a week before to get a reservation to get a ride from the hospital after an outpatient procedure. The phone rang and rang and then finally says their VM is full but you can send a TEXT. I called back again and amazingly the gentleman who own the company answers the phone...but he states he needs to call back later because he doesn't have his schedule. He calls back this one time and I miss the call because I was at dinner and decide it is too late so I call back the next day several times with no response-I sent texts and called at different times a day. So finally I call from another number and he picks up. I tell him who I am and he says that due to his pricing he is basically overstretched, but he says he will call me back later with a time. Well, my procedure is done and I ended up using a company who actually has someone to pick you up and drop you off. 1. If you can't fit me in do not lie and say you're going to call back. 2. Don't avoid your customers. 3. I contacted Cali Van and spoke with Nick. I explained the situation and my needs, as I would need no special equipment. I was informed that this is a common service they provide. This conversation took place on a Monday, and the upcoming Thursday was the day of the procedure. I was also told I just needed to give the company information to the medical staff so they would know who would be picking me up, and they would be able to coordinate the discharge time with their arrival. I used ride share to get to the procedure location. I gave the contact information to the nurse, who told me my transportation would need to be confirmed before the procedure could even begin. I was later informed they were not able to connect with anyone at Cali Van, and the voicemail was full. I then started calling and had the same result; no answer, and the voicemail was full. I'm now starting to panic because I had prepared for the procedure, and I had confirmed with Nick the date and time of my transportation need. Fortunately, I was able to find someone else to pick me up after the procedure. It's been approximately 3 weeks since this happened, and neither Nick nor anyone else from Cali Van has attempted to contact me to acknowledge their failure to be available for my scheduled pickup after a medical procedure. The lack of professionalism from Cali Van was unacceptable, stressful, and inexcusable for a company that is working with people in sensitive medical situations. Because of her narrow staircase which has a 90-degree turn to get upstairs to her bedroom, we HAD to have a "stair chair." I called several companies until I found Cali Van. They had the specialized chair and it worked beautifully. The driver sent out, Jasur (sp?), was kind, efficient, considerate, and cared about my mom. Mom (95 yrs old) had a fractured leg and had to be handled very carefully to avoid any unnecessary pain and Jasur treated her with kid gloves. The price was more than reasonable. They were on time (actually early!). With all the stress associated getting Mom home & coordinating all the other services, Cali Van was the ONLY ONE that performed seamlessly and didn't add to my stress level. I'm extremely grateful to have found them and recommend them highly.
