This company doesn't answer their phone or call you back. I called this company due to their awesome reviews on YELP. I had called a week before to get a reservation to get a ride from the hospital after an outpatient procedure. The phone rang and rang and then finally says their VM is full but you can send a TEXT. I called back again and amazingly the gentleman who own the company answers the phone...but he states he needs to call back later because he doesn't have his schedule. He calls back this one time and I miss the call because I was at dinner and decide it is too late so I call back the next day several times with no response-I sent texts and called at different times a day. So finally I call from another number and he picks up. I tell him who I am and he says that due to his pricing he is basically overstretched, but he says he will call me back later with a time. Well, my procedure is done and I ended up using a company who actually has someone to pick you up and drop you off. 1. If you can't fit me in do not lie and say you're going to call back. 2. Don't avoid your customers. 3. Don't play around with peoples lives-If you are medical based service you are not only playing with the patients schedule but in my case the schedules of the doctor...nurses and anesthesiologist. read more

Couldn't be happier with Medics on Wheels, was at the house exactly when promised, was very concerned and careful loading my wife into the van, she had a broken leg, going to the hospital to have surgery. My experience with this company wasn't what I had anticipated, however, I have to admit that I did not research the service I needed before moving forward with hiring a driver. I've since learned that among the Medical Transport business, there are some fundamental differences in the level of service each company may provide. I made an assumption that since medical patients were being transported, one could expect a clinical environment within the vehicle -across the board. Not so. Some companies are aesthetically similar to an Uber van . I did not manage my expectations adequately and initially felt disappointed by the experience. My ride was arranged pretty last minute and so I may have been hasty in my decision to hire the first friendly representative on the other end of the line who promised that my need for transportation the following day would be met. What I later discovered is that the very affordable round-trip fare offered by Medics on Wheels (exactly 50% less than the competitors) carried with it a more straightforward, basic experience. I also discovered that this company's operations are being handled by a concerned owner/manager. Bradley really did seem to care about overall customer satisfaction. He was eager to hear about my observations and suggestions for improving communication and follow through as well as the raising the comfort level for wheelchair bound passengers and able-bodied passengers alike. IN A NUTSHELL- if cost is the top priority when choosing transportation, it would pay to get a quote from Medics on Wheels - for sure. Booked them for transpo to/from a recent non-emergency procedure for two reasons--their good rating on Yelp and their being the only top-rated service that gives pricing information on their website before you book. After checking out the website, I phoned to make sure they could help me. Bradley discussed my needs and confirmed they could meet them at the published pricing. After I made my purchase online, he contacted me promptly to confirm. Got me back and forth with no delays or hassles despite a last-minute change of my procedure to an earlier start time and the procedure completing more than an hour earlier than expected. The driver was great. He picked me up promptly on my way to the hospital. Then, my surgery went 3 hours longer than planned. The driver waited for me despite that fact that he was supposed to be off shift by that time. He greeted me with a smile as I left the hospital and wheeled me right to my door. This company is amazing! They were on time and so professional. I have a broken leg, torn MCL ligament and torn meniscus. I'm a very strong independent women and having a blown out knee with a fractured tibia has been the worst experience of my life. Medics on Wheels made feel so comfortable and safe. Edit: Bradley contacted me, and refunded the entire charge on my credit card. That's all I wanted, was to be treated honestly. I plan to use Medics on Wheels in a month when I will need another ride from the hospital. Original: I paid $300 in advance for a seventy mile ride home from the hospital. When I was being released, I couldn't tell the exact time I was going to be released, and Bradley said he was holding a driver at $25 an hour for me. The owner Bradley asked if I would work with him to cover the expense of holding a driver. So I made a generous offer to take a $100 loss if he would put $200 back on my credit card, and I would get another way home. read more

Called April 2019, was told they aren't doing wheelchair van transports anymore.

We hired Medics to transport my mom to dialysis 3 times per week. Several times they were significantly late picking up or dropping off. They also completely missed an appointment and never showed. The next day Bradley promised a free transport to make up for it. Thanks for nothing. My mom called as they were 2 hours late. They are cheap for a reason. Completely unreliable with many excuses. They were supposed to refund my remaining trips within a week and it looks like it will be at least 2-3 weeks for a refund. Go somewhere else. read more

I work in a very fast paced Emergency Room where it is important that we treat our patients with the best of care. Which is a process in itself. Patients must be treated and medically cleared by an ER Physician in order to be discharged. However, some of our patients aren't as mobile or ambulatory to where they can just leave. We used Medics on Wheels this past February for a trip home from an outpatient hospital procedure. The hospital released my dad to go home same day, but he didn't look strong enough for me to get into our car myself, so I called around for wheelchair van transport. A lot of places weren't available as it was short notice and later in the day, or the cost was a bit high for us, but Medics on Wheels was available and came on time. The driver was very professional and courteous. We got home safely and the driver left, but once we were getting situated at home, the hospital called and told us they made a mistake and that my dad was supposed to be admitted into the hospital rather than discharged home. I called back Medics on Wheels and spoke with Bradley. He contacted the driver who was almost home since his shift was over, but the driver agreed to turn back around to return to our place. While I was getting my dad ready for the van to arrive, he was not doing well, and so I had to call 911 which got an ambulance dispatched. I called back Medics on Wheels to cancel their return trip due to the change of events. The driver was already making his way back to us, so Bradley had to call his driver to cancel. We worked out an amicable payment for this cancellation of the return trip. I felt really bad for the driver as I think he was traveling on the 405 fwy, from the Valley, to try and get back to us in Culver City during the start of rush hour. I am thankful for his willingness to try and come back to help us even though his shift ended, and also for Bradley's professionalism to try and meet our needs. read more
