I contacted Cali Van and spoke with Nick. I explained the situation and my needs, as I would need no special equipment. I was informed that this is a common service they provide. This conversation took place on a Monday, and the upcoming Thursday was the day of the procedure. I was also told I just needed to give the company information to the medical staff so they would know who would be picking me up, and they would be able to coordinate the discharge time with their arrival. I used ride share to get to the procedure location. I gave the contact information to the nurse, who told me my transportation would need to be confirmed before the procedure could even begin. I was later informed they were not able to connect with anyone at Cali Van, and the voicemail was full. I then started calling and had the same result; no answer, and the voicemail was full. I'm now starting to panic because I had prepared for the procedure, and I had confirmed with Nick the date and time of my transportation need. Fortunately, I was able to find someone else to pick me up after the procedure. It's been approximately 3 weeks since this happened, and neither Nick nor anyone else from Cali Van has attempted to contact me to acknowledge their failure to be available for my scheduled pickup after a medical procedure. The lack of professionalism from Cali Van was unacceptable, stressful, and inexcusable for a company that is working with people in sensitive medical situations. Who just ignores a confirmed medical transportation appointment pickup? Cali Van Medical Transportation does!

Because of her narrow staircase which has a 90-degree turn to get upstairs to her bedroom, we HAD to have a "stair chair." I called several companies until I found Cali Van. They had the specialized chair and it worked beautifully. The driver sent out, Jasur (sp?), was kind, efficient, considerate, and cared about my mom. Mom (95 yrs old) had a fractured leg and had to be handled very carefully to avoid any unnecessary pain and Jasur treated her with kid gloves. The price was more than reasonable. They were on time (actually early!). With all the stress associated getting Mom home & coordinating all the other services, Cali Van was the ONLY ONE that performed seamlessly and didn't add to my stress level. I'm extremely grateful to have found them and recommend them highly.

We have had a hard time lifting her from her bed, but the drivers with WellCare are cautious and help us get her into a wheelchair and into their van safely. I am so thankful for their help and services, their prices were reasonable and their service is always up to par. I will definitely be coming to them next time we need transportation for elder family members. I would recommend them to others because the drivers are very patient and cautious and caring. They also have gurney service, they have their own oxygen tanks, trained EMT's, and other supplies per request.

The issue is that this company is used by insurance companies and can be randomly assigned to your transport when using third-party transportation departments. Out of the abundance of transportation companies in Los Angeles, this company is the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb. There was a conversation with one of their supervisors in which they were extremely rude, told us not to call them ever again, and hung up on us. Yet, they continue to accept transports from our facility through third-party companies such as Call the Car, Modivcare, and American Logistics Company. It's disappointing to deal with a company that chose to be in this field and disrespect other healthcare transportation professionals with their actions.
