Meh. I wouldn't go back unless someone absolutely wanted to try it and I felt like throwing $$ away. Food was okay, nothing to rave about. Asked for sweet tea, and was told they don't have any tea, but they do have kool aid. . . . Should've known walking into a place with "Cali" on it. Waitress suggested a "Chef Special" Pineapple bowl...for $45...no thanks. I opted to try the wings and got Jerk and Mango Habanero sauce. Jerk seasoning was bland - Slap your mama has more heat, mango habanero was okay. Fries were bland. Its a 3 star BAR asking for 5 star prices. Black walls and floors make it feel like it used to be a strip club. Place had 6 employees standing around the entire time I was in a meeting, just seemed odd to see 4 people behind an empty bar on a Monday at noon. Went here on a Saturday looking for a good brunch experience. The ambiance and set up is cool. I had the mac n cheese which was extremely salty and a philly cheesesteak which was dry and had super fatty steak on it. My friends wings came out cold. I enjoy supporting small businesses but definitely would not recommend. The server took almost an hour to bring us our tickets and to go boxes after the food was served. My coworkers and I came here for lunch and it was a very uncomfortable experience. 1st when we were sat the host kept switching table and then sat us at a dirty table. We ended up wait several minutes before the booth and table was cleaned. The vibe of the restaurant was sad- all the workers looked miserable and it was very hot inside. Our server, to put it frankly, was clueless. My coworker order a gin and tonic and she had no idea if they served the beverage and we asked about the beer options and she had to leave the table to ask the bartender multiple times to ask if they had the beer. I do think a brink menu would be beneficial. The food was just okay. There was a lot of food for the price but the chicken was very over cooked and dry but the fried shrimp was pretty good. The food is real good and the menu is creative. It just takes too long for the food to come out. I have been 4 times and only ate twice.. each experience was weird. To go is probably the only way I would eat here again.. Or if I could order my food in advance then show up. Came here for lunch and good thing I was told it's still a soft opening. I will start off with the food I had. It was good, the food choices are plenty. I had a smaller plate i had Mac and cheese, lobster tail, shrimp and chicken strips. The Mac and cheese was amazing and the rest of it was good, it was't knock your socks off good, but it holds up against others serving the same type of food. I will come back to try other food that i saw being brought out to other tables. This looks like a good spot to watch some sports during the day. The cell phone service is horrible in there and since you have to scan a QR code for the menu, that presents a problem. One of the greeters finally helped me out and set up the wifi password so I could look at the menu. The waitress I had was decent as in she didn't really seem enthused to be there. Just had my birthday dinner at this restaurant, and i can tell you the food was horrible. No flavor with the food. We noticed the water tasted burnt, come to find out the bottom of our straws were BURNT. The waiter let us know that it was burnt due to the coffee maker they were on/above. The food was cold coming out. We brought a cake there to celebrate my birthday and they wanted to charge $35 just to bring my cake in. I really would rate it zero stars if i could. I try to support black businesses, but this will definitely be my last time coming here. They also have an upcharge for EVERYTHING. I visited this place on 2 separate occasions on 2 separate consecutive days. First day on a Friday was good. My party and I had a 4 star experience. The next day, which was a Saturday, (fight night) my party and I had a horrible experience. It literally took an hour to get a drink and another 45 minutes to get our food. They had enough servers but my waitress kept coming up with excuses as to why my order was taking too long. I saw my waitress bring food and drinks out to people that had sat down after us. I explained to the waitress on how I felt. She was apologetic, however, no solution came up. The last thing I wanted was some cocktail sauce to go with my fried shrimp. My fries and shrimp came out cold and I couldn't get another drink. Needless to say, I stayed and watched the fight because I'm a huge boxing fan. I started to complain to the manager but it was packed and I was exhausted. I don't do this often, however, I've never had an experience like this. I'm one of the parents with A-Game basketball. So we were there shortly after opening time so it was pretty empty maybe 6 other customers were there but we were immediately greeted and seated and our server was great! Her name was Keony or something like that please forgive me for misspelling but she was superb! Very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu and offered recommendations. The food was Delicious!! More than generous on the portions and reasonably priced for the vibe it was giving. I got the big boy plate with chicken tenders,lobster and shrimp and Mac and cheese with fries it was seasoned to perfection. My table also had the rich girl po-boy with lobster and shrimp, lemon pepper wings, lobster roll and loaded fries. They did not disappoint! I'm assuming the time of day may have been why we had a good experience as all the bad reviews happened latter in the evening so I would suggest catching them for lunch hours. Absolutely disgusting. None of the meat has flavor. The salmon bites were extremely dry. Fried rice tastes more like dirty rice. White rice has some super salty seasoning on the top. The garlic noodles are good but the lamb chops are literally just meat. The glaze isn't bad tho. Macaroni has the same salty seasoning as the rice. Cornish hen has no flavor and dry again. Just lemon seasoning. Literally wouldn't even give this place one star if i could. Service was terrible coming from Mia as well and the manager who wouldn't even show his face ! Very disappointed... if I could I've it less stars I would. The manager (Ashlee) was completely rude when we addressed her about the time it took to receive our food and the quality of the food. Several members of our party had issues and her attitude was "you can either stay or you can go" and "it is was it is". When reviewing the bill, the food was more expensive than what was posted on the menu, the reason was that it was tax even though we were already charged tax and the manager refused to come back out.
