One-year old LG dryer threw an error code D95 indicating vent clogging. CAL Duct was super professional and friendly from scheduling, showing up on time, to the actual work. Josue even climbed up the roof to try to find the vent outlet in the rain to see if he could further troubleshoot! Wow! Dryer is now back to working! I will be calling them regularly to clean my dryer vent! Update: Error code came back the next day, this time D90 (remember Josue wanted to clean the vent outlet outside. He had said that there might be clogging there but we had no idea where it was). This time we know where it is. Texted Lex and he promptly got back to us about a follow-up visit. MLK holiday Josue showed up, climbed out to our small light well, and cleaned the outside vent, which was completely CLOGGED and filled with WATER!!! He spent about 1 1/2 hours cleaning up that sewage look duct with gushing water!! Alas, problem is solved. But he also suggested we talked to Lex to find out why so much water got into the vent, which might indicates something inside is broken (or just the rain). Just ran 4 loads of laundry with no error code!!! These guys are professional, honest, and efficient! They know what they are doing!!! I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

Horrible. Whomever I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. We scheduled a dryer duct cleaning with an arrival time between 9-10 AM the next day. By 10:10 AM, I had to leave for my doctors appt. I called and was told there was traffic and they would be there soon. When I heard the doorbell ring at 10:22 am, I expected to see someone in a uniform or with the logo on their shirt. Instead there was a young man dressed in designer jeans, fancy button down, and loafers. He said he was here to clean my dryer vent. I told him that I had to take off immediately, and showed him my dryer (on my back porch) and where the vent led to. Then I locked the house and left. No one called, emailed, or texted to say they were done, but at 10:37 AM I received an invoice via text. Given that the young man was late and then only stayed 15 minutes was not very reassuring. When I got home the back porch was covered in dryer lint. The inside of my dryer and especially the dryer door was also covered in loose lint. The backyard under the dryer vent had quite a bit of lint as well. Flash forward to 9/29, I realize that the dryer is still drying slow and call another dryer duct cleaning company. They found a ton of lint in my vent and said it looked like the Cal Duct guy just used a light leaf blower to try to clean it out. The other company was even cheaper too! Super disappointed in the lack of communication when they were running late, the short amount of time spent at my house, and the poor quality job. Would definitely not use again! read more

I did a project inquiry on yelp and Cal Duct responded within seconds and showed up an hour later. They did a chimney sweep and dryer vent cleaning. Very happy with the amazing turnaround time and service. Highly recommended. read more

Ulvi showed up and immediately got to work. They cleaned the chimney and did a great job with clean up. Got a clean bill of health too! Price was fair and again they were fast and thorough, very courteous as well. Will definitely use them again. read more

Had a bad experience with Golden State a couple of weeks ago. I started a project via Yelp, and they were the ones with the earliest availability. I've never had my dryer vent cleaned so I had no idea what to communicate or what the process would be like. They had quoted a price for me, and they were the only ones who reached out without providing both a stacked dryer and regular price. The tech arrived on time, and turned on my dryer so he could figure out where the vent was on the roof. We went to the roof and he couldn't figure it out, so he started telling me how it was clearly blocked and because of that, he'd need to move my washer/dryer and because it's stacked, the price was now double. I balked at the price because everyone else had a price that was $50 higher for a stacked unit. He then proceeded to call his supervisor who was on speaker when he said that no one even does stacked washer / dryers, and how difficult it is to do large unit buildings - basically complaining about something I had put in my project. He then told the tech that it was up to him if he wanted to negotiate a price and do the work or leave. When he got off the phone, he complained to me about his time being wasted (as I repeatedly told him I wasn't going to pay double). Not a fan. And as an FYI for anyone reading this, I ended up working with Bay Services, who had a really great tech come out, simply move my stacked unit off to the side so he could clear/vacuum the vent, and then also determine that my vent was actually on my balcony and not my roof - so, actual knowledge and expertise. I would 100% recommend giving Bay Services a call instead! read more

We had a great experience with Cal Duct Cleaning. The service person, Ulvi, was very professional and courteous from start to finish. He arrived on time, explained everything clearly, and made sure the work was done thoroughly. He documented the before and after state of our dryer duct with photos, which provided a nice confirmation that our duct was long over due for a cleaning. I would definitely recommend Cal Duct Cleaning and we'll be calling them again next year! read more

I made an appointment with this company but made sure first that they serviced my area and they said they did so I thought we were set. I took the day off for tomorrow so someone could be home when they get here and lo and behold they text me today saying they had to cancel because we are too far. So they totally lied to me when I made the appointment and now say their tech quit. I call BS. This place has no integrity. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

My experience with this company was outstanding. We had a major changes on our mechanic shop air vents and air conditioning. Thank you so much for helping us through this project. Definitely recommend. read more

Matt did an outstanding job resolving my dryer vent issues. He went out of his way to not only make sure it was thoroughly cleaned, but he also checked the venting and fixed some of the poorly installed hoses. The service Matt provided exceeded my expectations. I am already scheduling him for once a year vent cleaning. read more

After cleaning my clothes dryer vent of a bird nest my clothes drying time was so much faster !

I requested vent cleaning, two bathroom fan cleans, and a dryer vent clean. Pros: things are cleaned out. Cons: - service was much more expensive than the last service I used, but I thought beforehand that maybe it's just me asking for more things to be done. - tech did not go to the correct house, contacting me a few times (I was also in a meeting) while not at the correct house. - tech asked me to solve their parking issues. I don't have a car, but I can read street signs, and after reading a street sign to the tech, they ended up finding parking. - tech brought illness into the home. They sniffed (and I counted, at one point) about every six seconds, for the whole appointment. They did not wear a mask. I got sniffles about 36 hours later, followed by the rest of my household, causing me to miss a planned weekend trip. - tech left gobs of dryer vent lint outside the house. I kept finding it for about a month. read more

Matt was great. On time, nice guy and very professional. Reattached everything perfectly.

On time. Good service. Fixed up a couple issues with the ducting on top of the cleaning without even being asked.

Used them previously with no issues. So I set up an appointment for today at noon. Planned and worked from home only to have them no show. When I informed them that no one showed up, someone offered to come in "17 minutes". But I needed to leave. Then someone else texted and said "sorry" no explanation and no reason why the no show. Then they asked me if I wanted to reschedule. No offer to make it better or again no reason given for the failure to show up. Unprofessional. read more

Got my air vents cleaned. Tural was my technician and Jane was my customer rep. Jane was very patient and worked well with me regarding the costs, negotiating, explaining what they offer. Tural did an excellent job on the cleaning. He explained the work he does well and did an excellent job spending enough time on each vent, dryer vent. He also helped me with carry a large mirror up the stairs and was very kind throughout. Pleasure working with Tural and Jane. Thank you both. read more

Great Service. The technician was on time, explained the details and took the time to do the job without rush. Very polite to add to that.

They are reliable and wonderful! I scheduled a service via their website on Monday evening. Wednesday afternoon they arrived within the promised window (even texted ahead of time) Josue was our technician and he put on boot covers when we requested. He was friendly and efficient. We looked at a few other service providers via yelp and some of them had inconsistent pricing. Cal Duct cleaning was very reasonable and I am pleased that we picked them. read more

I contacted 3 chimney cleaning firms I found on Yelp, one never returned my call and the other didn't have availability until March. Cal Duct Cleaning agreed to come the next day but I wasn't available until today. Matt and his helper arrived right on time at 10 AM in Novato from SF. They covered their shoes, put drop cloths over everything near my fireplace and cleaned/inspected my fireplace chimney, it's gas lighter bar, and repaired my flue. They also inspected my dryer vent. They were polite, thorough, and everything you can expect from professionals. All for $179...an exceptional value! read more

Above expectations! Getting a quote and an appointment within the same week was easy, fast and straightforward. The technician Riz showed up on time and did a fantastic job. In previous experiences other companies cleaned the chimney but left a big mess everywhere else. This time it was perfect, Riz worked efficient without anything to complain about. He was very cautious about COVID-19 and wore safety equipment the entire time, I felt safe. I'm very happy to find a reliable and good priced service I can recommend to everyone! read more

TL;dr CALL THEM!! They answer the phone, offer advice/options and are reasonably priced!! Highest level of customer service I have experienced in the Bay Area. Responsive, honest, solution oriented, and highly customer service oriented. Background: Old dryer dying. Drying sensor fell off, so running dryer using timer (it was taking 2- 3 hrs a load?!). Costco had a sale so bought new dryer. New dryer was a lemon (buzzer didn't work, water was accumulating on the door, taking 3+ hours to dry). Costco offered replacement. While being relaxed, found a ton of water in dryer hose and pulled out tons of wet dryer lint from vent. Turned to Yelp and started calling HVAC companies. First calls got vm and/or didn't have any idea how to deal with this (only does installation). Then I called Cal Duct Cleaning...they answered their phone. Reassured me it was probably cuz of a clog. They would send someone tomorrow with a camera and all that is required to unclog. He reassured me it was safe to use in the meantime (water was due to clog blocking its evaporation - dryer pulls all the water out of our clothes...). Super nice guy shows up and appears to clear it. He was covering for the guy with the camera so he didn't t have one to double check it was gone! Unfortunately a week later loads are running long again. I call back they send their best guy, Gio. Gio, who has a camera and is super experienced, comes and finds a solid clog. They pour hot water down to loosen it but won't budge. They are running late so need to come back and give the water time to do its magic. Third time is the charm! They put in more hot water and are able to clear it. We live in a four story condo building where the vent has tons of turns. This was the best $149 I spent. I had even offered to pay another time for this third visit. I hadn't cleaned my vent in forever!!! Will do it annually now... Huge thanks to Gio and team for their persistence and outstanding customer service!! read more

I got my dryer vent cleaned. They were very responsive in getting back to me with an estimate and for scheduling the work. Their pricing was the lowest amongst the companies i got an estimate for, and very transparent (it's listed on their website). The work was done quickly. The only negative I have is that on the roof, the stuff that came out of the vent was left there rather than picked up and thrown away. It would have just taken a couple minutes to do that. In any case, i'll still give 5 stars since everything else was what I expected and needed. read more

Highly recommend Cal Duct Cleaning! They were prompt in communicating the details of the appointment. Ali was great -- he was on time, friendly and helpful. The overall chimney sweep was done in less than an hour. I could not ask for better service. Also the price was reasonable and budget-friendly. Thank you!! read more

Max arrived early to clean our clothes dryer vent. Since our vent does not go straight to the exterior and our roof is too steeply pitched to go out on; Max had to go up in our attic and disconnect the vent to clean the opening at the roof. They were great, the guy who came called and kept me in the loop before his arrival. It was quick and it was clean

Will use again. Quick, easy scheduling, thorough job and great communication while on-site. They cleaned up the work areas well (note: there will be dust on things afterward -- that seems inevitable) and worked quickly. They let me know which vents had more debris stuck in them. I feel so much better knowing that the ducts are cleaned and disinfected. read more

Dryer vent service was easy to schedule. Company provided options by email in response to my query. The technician, Josue, texted me when he was close to my place. We just moved into a new house and it was recommended to get an inspection before using the fireplace. I called and they got back to me within the day to make my appointment for the following week. I appreciated the transparent pricing - $139 for the inspection. Rody came by and was very friendly, polite, mindful of COVID by wearing a mask & of our home by wearing shoe covers. Turns out our fireplace is brand new and has never been used. He explained how down drafts can be avoided so we can start to use our fireplace without issue. Rody offered to inspect our dryer vent as well for free, which was something I hadn't even thought to check yet. He was patient and explained the best way to maintain our fireplace & dryer vent. I'll definitely use them in the future when are due for a cleaning! read more

I reached out to Cal Duct Cleaning for an estimate. They were super responsive, explained their process and offerings respectfully, and had upcoming availability. Carlos and his partner showed up right on time, were polite and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the noise was not that bad.
