I can't remember where I first heard of Cakes & Bubbles, but for whomever mentioned it, THANK YOU. After following them on Instagram for months, and fantasizing about the famous "cheesecake," I finally got to try it myself and it 100% lived up to the hype. The texture of the cheesecake is what surprised me the most. It was mousse-like and super light and fluffy. I expected it to be a bit richer or slightly denser but it was like eating pillowy soft cheesecake with the perfect little biscuits to scoop it up (a nice stand in for a more typical crust). Yes, the prices are London prices. They are a bit hefty for the portion sizes but you are basically eating art and it's extremely unique and innovative. Not something you'll find anywhere else. I'd also like to add that I showed up one afternoon without a reservation and the host (or manager or whoever he was) was so kind and accommodating that when I said I was only there for dessert and wouldn't occupy the table for hours, they were able to squeeze me into the last open table before the person who had booked it later arrived. Thank you so much for that, and I'm so happy to report it was all worth it :)

This is a fancy cafe inside the Hotel Cafe Royal. Cakes were fancy and expensive. It was different compared to other bakeries. Always wanted to try different desserts. I ordered the cakes & bubbles cork. It was 3 small pieces for $16 pounds. They were delicious. Definitely wants more later.

I ordered take away. Seemless and staff were polite. The cheesecake was creamy and tasted like peanut butter. The corks were okay. The cheesecake was the star

    "The Cheesecake"

This is my first time visiting the UK and my first time leaving the USA. My family and I discovered "Cakes and Bubbles." The inside was clean, and the atmosphere was comforting. The service was exceptional, and our waitress, Fate, was a pleasure. She was funny and kind, and we all loved her. We were sad when she seemed to disappear after taking our orders. Her amazing service made the dining experience even more enjoyable! (Never mind, She came back!!!) By the way, I loved the Katsu Sandwiches! The cheesecake was incredible--perfectly balanced and not overly sweet!

Visited cakes and bubbles on a very busy weekend night. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away in the indoor area. Because of the venue's popularity, I recommend making a reservation before you arrive. The interior was very cute - decked out in gold, giving it a fun and bougie vibe that pairs perfectly with champagne and small desserts. We each got a glass of champagne and we ordered two desserts to share. The desserts are very small, making them good for sampling. I would definitely recommend trying a few. I thought both desserts we tried were really creative, and they even came with instructions on how best to enjoy them. Cakes and Bubbles is great for celebrating, or for a fun outing living your best life. Recommend making a stop in after doing some shopping in the area!

When we were planning our trip to London, we discovered that Albert Adria had recently opened a dessert & champagne restaurant in Soho. We had the best meal of our lives so far at his Tickets in Barcelona so we couldn't pass up a chance to check this place out! Definitely make a reservation and plan to spend a bit. A full tasting will run around £30pp and of course you'll want some bubbles to go with. We opted for a lovely Spanish cava and decided to basically order one of everything on the menu and share. A few things we'd had before (the incredible cheese cakes, coconut chocolate stars) and they were as good as we remembered. Everything was amazing honestly - from the frozen mango to the light as air carrot cake. Much like Tickets, everything is slightly whimsical and you do get the feeling of being a kid in a candy store. Although this is an upscale place (no shorts or tanks) the staff is friendly and fun. Our server Takla (hope I spelled it right!) encourages us to share and really enjoy our time here. It was the perfect end to another great trip with cool besties Kelly & Mike.

Hands down my favorite pairing and one of my favorite spots in London. Cakes! Bubbles! And Cristal champagne by the glass. Well yes to all please. I'll take yes to all.! It's a treat and I love treating myself. One of each on repeat. Grazie Came here right before the city shutdown and I'm so glad. It hasn't been the same since this beautiful experience. One of my favorite experiences in London! And it tasted pretty magical too. The entrance to the hotel was just stunning. The study before entering this gorgeous room was beautiful. Everything was just aesthetically appealing, perfectly designed and decorated. Just beautiful. Inside was these giant marble tables! Gorgeous doors and again: stunning golden marble bar counter that wraps around: which has all the champagne bottles on the wall. Their amazing cheesecakes on display ( packed) and even some cookies. I wasn't sure if they would tasting for 1 since most tables had it for 2 with a tower. But I'm glad they did. And I must say, I love my presentation way better. Everything came on a bottle of champagne: even the bottom was used to serve my stunning chocolate cookie. Cork shaped fluffy chocolate cake! The rose shape sorbet! That stunning flan inside an egg shell was golden! Literally golden liquid! And of course... last but not least was that best cheese cake in the world award winning Albert Adria's cheese cake. Look like a beautiful little cheese barrel. Even brought some with me to Paris! Came with cookies: it's salty sweet, rich and all kinds of amazing! It was the best cheesecake I've ever had! It was definitely indulging lunch and well I enjoyed every bit. People watching, champagne sipping and my afternoon tea without tea! But with champagne and the most delicate little beautiful desserts. Loved every bite and every sip! Cin cin!

I wanted to indulge on this trip to London and Cakes and Bubbles was a perfect spot to delight yourself in sweets. However, don't let the ££££ scare you as the desserts themselves are quite reasonably priced and your bill may add up only if you order drinks. You can select the pre-fixe option or select individual puddings. We decided to select our own and ordered the cheesecake, mango sorbet, and golden egg flan. The cheesecake is wonderful with a hint of hazelnut. The shell is smooth and silky and scoops uniformity with the rest of the cake. It also comes with small wafer cookies for you to spread the cake onto. This gives it more texture and a crunch. The mango sorbet was refreshing and light. The golden egg flan wins for presentation as it had the Midas touch. In the egg shell, there was a layer of caramel, flan, and passion fruit on top. The passion fruit definitely overpowers the dish a bit but you just gotta scoop a little deeper to reach the sweet caramel at the bottom.

London is an international city in the sense that more than a few eating spots I've encountered in my travels across Europe/Asia/US had an outpost in this very city. Back in 2019 I had an opportunity to eat at Tickets in Barcelona, which was at the time Albert Adrià's (brother of el Bulli's Ferran) renowned restaurant (https://www.yelp.com/biz/tickets-barcelona-3?hrid=X6xathmJgPwoUeHgKB_7fg). Prior to this he was the pastry chef at the now-closed El Bulli and it was through the dessert course that his talent shines. It was specifically at Tickets that I had one of the best things I ever ate, its version of a cheesecake. A brie-style cheese interior (Coulommiers cheese to be specific) with a white chocolate/hazelnut "rind". As of this writing (three years later) the original iteration of this cheesecake is still one of the best things I ever ate. Cakes and Bubbles is Adria's first restaurant he established outside his native Spain and its space inside Café Royal was a result of a successful pop-up collaboration in 2016 that had all slots sold with 3800 people on a waiting list. As Tickets didn't survive the pandemic it is also the only place to get the aforementioned cheesecake plus a few other notable desserts (ie the rose lychee). You can do the desserts a-la-carte or as an afternoon tea-style course sub bubbles instead of tea. There's also the option to order savories from Hotel Café Royal. My family didn't want to look too hard to find dinner afterwards so we ended up doing dinner/dessert right here. - Cheesecake (£12). the notable difference is that Baron Bigod cheese is used instead of Coulommiers. Same principle *but* it is more rich and texture is similar to clotted cream [think buttery]. Though it's not the same exact cheesecake in Tickets it's still excellent - I'd come back and eat this again when I go back to London. - Cakes & Bubbles Chocolate Cork (£10). looks like a cork but it's a soft chocolate-hazelnut type "cake". Excellent. - Baklava Pistachio Pillows (£10). This isn't the traditional baklava preparation. The inside is full of of clotted cream, hence "pillows". It's good by itself but much better if accompanied by a tea. - Classic Basque Burnt Cheesecake (£9/slice). Cheese is melt-in-your-mouth and lighter in fare than the signature cheesecake. - The standard bubbly is Veuve-Clicquot, Yellow Label, Brut (£18). - [Savory: Lobster Ravioli (£34)]. Ravioli was cooked al-dente and lobster portions are decent. Loved the bisque so much I licked my plate clean. Its location along Regents Street close to Piccadilly Circus makes it ideal for al-fresco dining. In Europe, al fresco is ideal for people watching and this is how I roll. Like everything else in London, prices are pretty steep but definitely a great meal for my family's last day in the city.

Cute and boujee but the hubby wanted a sweet taste of one of his favorite pastry chef locations so Cakes and Boujee, I mean Bubbles it was. Pastries were cute, dainty, and tasty. I'm not a fan of bubbles so I won't comment on that but their pistachio drink was delicious and refreshing. However, I wasn't pleased with the service.

Utterly delightful is probably the best way to describe our experience at Cakes and Bubbles, followed by whimsical, fun and tasty. A coworker had recommended we try it out on our visit to London and it was, unexpectedly, the highlight of the trip for me. I don't want to spoil all the surprises but what is I'll say is that even though they're known as a dessert shop, their savoury food is equally tasty and delightful. We had a tomato tartare that was so convincing it was hard to believe it was just made our of vegetables! My advice is, go hungry and try as many things as you possibly can. I really wanted to go back another time for seconds but we weren't able to fit it into our schedule. I eagerly await our return!

Albert Adria is a real genius, and the desserts here are out of this world. Located near Piccadilly Circus in a hotel (and there was a couple of big guys standing at the main entrance on busy Regent Street, the place looks gorgeous. We had the tasting menu (29GBP) and a bottle of prosecco. -Cakes & Bubbles chocolate cork : deep chocolate flavors - very good -Frozen Coconut & chocolate flower : prepared at El Bulli, delicate -Thai pomelo salad with papaya, orange & Asian herbs (weird) -Golden egg flan - OMG, Out Of This World The Cheese Cake: Coulommiers cheese, hazelnut & white chocolate: best cheesecake I've tasted. Definitely a must for dessert lovers when in London

Firstly there are different options for a base- a cookie, brownie, doughnut or baklava. Then you choose your ice cream and toppings. I decided to go for the brownie topped with lotus biscuits and flake, and chocolate ice cream. It was really tasty and enjoyable. The portion isn't massive but is a decent enough size. I didn't think it was necessarily worth £7.30 though, which after adding the toppings is the price mine came to. So I do not think it is value for money, but maybe more attractive as a place to grab something and post it all over Instagram! They have got it right, with pink walls, cool seating and novelty mirrors on the walls. I did enjoy the brownie but now I wish I had tried the baklava as it would have been good to try something different that you can't necessarily get everywhere with these toppings. So now I kind of want to return just to try that! Whereas otherwise I probably wouldn't feel a need to return now that I've tried it. I wouldn't say the place was set up for an influx of customers either, considering how much it has been posted/advertised everywhere on social media. There was just one member of staff there when I went (Sunday afternoon) and so she took the orders and payment and then went and prepared the ice cream, so had there been a queue there might have been quite a wait. Like I said, I might go back to try the baklava if in the area, but this is likely somewhere that people visit for a media post and then don't return. The price point is too high in my opinion for regular customers.

Normally I wouldn't have gotten the chocolate one (it had mini chocolate chips) just because I didn't think the texture you work well, but because it is a chocolatier it made sense to at least try it. Ultimately, I do think the caramel and framboise options were the winners. They were delicious and moist and just beautiful. Don't get me wrong: I would never turn down the chocolate one, but when I go back I'll be going for the options (and possibly trying new ones).

The quality of the ingredients and chocolate are exquisite, but the downside (where I took off a star) is that they are on the small side and they are expensive at £5 each. They also sell a variety of chocolates (9 piece boxes, 16 piece boxes, beautiful heart chocolates, or by the unit. You can buy macarons in traditional flavors but my favorite macaron place in the world is Pierre Herme and they have more unique flavors there. We tried the chocolate eclair and the hazelnut one. Neither was overly sweet - it was just right. The texture of the cream was perfect too - it was airy, light, tasted fresh and not artificial, and was not too sweet. The bread part at the bottom was firm - not too hard, not too soft, and not spongy. The chocolate one had a raspberry/chocolate topping with gold flakes and it was just perfect. The hazelnut one was really unique, as I had never had a hazelnut eclair before but I love hazelnut anything. There were little pieces of actual hazelnut, the hazelnut cream was perfect and not artificial-tasting, and there was this powdered sugar crunchy thing on top. The hazelnut was a bit messy to eat/share, since the topping part was harder to break apart, but every bite was amazing. I'd definitely come back here again to eat eclairs. Note that if you want to eat here, they don't really have spoons suitable for eating/sharing - it's more like a small spoon to stir coffee. There's one table outside where you can sit and eat, but there's no seating inside, so don't expect a place where you can hang out and drink tea/coffee and eat your eclair. The eclairs here are fantastic, we came at the end of the day so they didn't have many flavours left, but they typically also have vanilla, salted caramel, and I'm sure a few others that escape my memory (I asked one of the staff what other flavours they typically have). I've overused the word "perfect" in this review, so just go here and eat some eclairs and maybe some chocolates too. I had a praline little egg and it was fantastic, but the eclairs were like nothing I'd ever have. Minus one star for the price, but I guess it's relatively cheap next to all the other expensive stores in Marylebone. Worth the splurge every once in a while and I'll definitely be back.
