    Flourless chocolate amaretto Bundt cake
    Amelia S.

We arrived a little bit before closing, so it was slim pickings. The flourless amaretto chocolate cake was delicious, as was the aubergine with yogurt. Wish we could have tried the hummus, but they were sold out. Overall a nice selection of sweets and savory items. Not a lot of seating, and there are a few tables outside. Service was ok, but not particularly friendly. The staff seemed a little annoyed that some customers were walking in as they are trying to close.

The pastries here are fabulous. Some of the best we've ever had, anywhere. Including in Paris. We want to come here for lunch. A more detailed review of some pastries are contained in my review of the Notting Hill location as well as a review of some of Ottolenghi's food at Roti in Fitzrovia.

Quiche, white bean mash and poppyseed slaw

We had Ottolenghi on our London list, so we're pleased to stumble upon this location after a morning of shopping in the Chelsea/Sloane Square area! We waited around 30-45min for a table, and were seated at a cozy spot with a great view of the counter and pastry case. It was hard to choose from all of the yummy salads that are situated behind the counter. We both ended up choosing the quiche and slaw, one with white bean mash and one with the aubergine salad. Everything was very delicious and filling, as the portions were quite generous and more "American." Everything is served on gorgeous Ottolenghi plates and worthy of an Instagram post! Despite being full, we couldn't leave without a treat from the pastry case in the window and settled on the coffee and walnut cake, which was a delicious and subtly sweet treat. We shared a latte which was the perfect accompaniment for dessert. Service was pretty good, only slowing down a bit towards the end but it was quite busy and to be expected. The store also has lots of fun grab-and-go goodies like granola, brittle, bark, jams and more!

Love this place! The pastries and deserts are so great!! Really enjoy the strawberry bread loaf, it was a great balance of sweetness and fruity flavor. All very fresh ingredients and a great selection to choose from. Also a wide selection of other food and take-home cupboard goods.

Dessert & take-away cafe, but I went straight for the desserts alone the workers are so accommodating, the baker set aside the LAST cheesecake for me even though I was in the back of the line since he knew I wanted it!! --Hazelnut cheesecake: thick & yummy!! paired well w/ the toffee & hazelnut crunch topping --Chocolate chip cookie: a solid cookie but not best I've had --Passion fruit meringue tart: perfect fluffy meringue contrasting the tartness of the fruit! if i'm ever back in London, I want to try their restaurant location that was too far from my hotel on this trip!

This is food that ought to be illegal. It makes other food taste bland and boring. Everything there is a gastronomical treat. I popped in and had a few items to take away and enjoy elsewhere. It all changes on a regular basis - I have no idea if the same things were there the day before or the next day. But it all tasted so very fresh! I got: A slice of pizza with peppers, Serrano ham and mozzarella A scoop of roasted aubergines ("eggplant" to Americans) with honey yogurt, pumpkin seeds and chilli. Roasted broccoli with peanuts and chilli and garlic Carrot and cabbage cole slaw with spicy red chillis and a vinegar dressing One blackcurrant meringue OMG, it was amazing. Check my pictures. It's a good thing I live nowhere near this place as I'd be fat and broke and sated!

Oh my god! This place is amazing!!! My son decided that we needed one of everything. So glad we tried so many things! Go here! You will not regret it.

Ottolenghi is a feast for the eyes! Their desserts are beautiful and delicious! Highly recommend.

The food was so wonderfully prepared and displayed! We shared 3 salads, lamb balls, bread and a tart. We loved the roasted aubergine and sweet potatoes. However, the 5th star is due to the kindness of the staff. We were eating outside and it suddenly began raining and hailing. They invited us inside and prepared 2 table placements for

After reading Ottolenghi's Plenty and not being able to make most of his dishes due to hard-to-find ingredients or complicated recipes, I was determined to try his restaurants and cafes while in London. The food was amazing. The look of the cafe is modern and fresh with tons of bright colors from the huge spread of dishes and desserts. When you enter, you're immediately greeted with tons of desserts and baked goods. Next comes all of the fresh and bright salads with some proteins. The final piece of the food section are all of the less perishable items- jams, wrapped baked goods, etc. The back of the cafe has one large round table (the only seating available) that seats 6-8 people max. We had the entree with two sides (lamb moussaka, roasted aubergine with yogurt and coconut, and a red pepper and walnut mash) and the smoked salmon breakfast. (Breakfast served until 12pm everyday, except Sunday when it's served until 1pm.) The food was all delicious. The lamb moussaka was hearty, the roasted aubergine with healthy, and the red pepper mash was incredibly flavorful. Even the simple smoked salmon breakfast was done perfectly with farm-fresh eggs that were a beautiful yellow-orange. Another couple ordered the shakshuka breakfast with eggs, peppers, and tomatoes in a cast iron skillet that looked amazing. They also serve all of their jams on the table to be paired with breakfast, so we got to try the apricot & passion fruit and strawberry & vanilla. Ottolenghi is a little bit out of the way from the touristy areas, but it is well worth the visit.

You know it's real love once you return the 2nd time and your heart still flutters. Ottolenghi's Belgravia location is 1 of 3 in London and- though there are others much closer to where I live- I have an allegiance to this tiny, 6-seater goldmine of masterful sweets. I went for my first time in May. Yes, there's just one (minimalistic & spiffy) round communal table here, but I just see it as part of the experience (been twice, once with a friend, and it was never full). My expectations were high, for Ottolenghi is a rockstar chef with household-name cookbooks. I ordered jasmine tea and the Lime Cheesecake with Strawberries. I tasted the cheesecake...then became paralyzed for about 6 seconds. THIS. S**T IS OTHERWORLDLY. Creamy, dreamy and deceptively filling- you can truly taste the *thoughtfulness* of the size, the portions of glazed strawberries, the atypical shape, etc. Yes...I have no qualms confessing that this is the best cheesecake I've ever had. Love brought me back a 2nd time today, making sure it could still 'wow' me like the 1st time three months ago. Today I ordered green tea with the Blackberry Financier (pictured). I never heard of a "financier" dessert but it looked nice enough. I took a breath and took a small edge of the vanilla-almond cake: OH MY JEEZ THIS IS GOOD. I wasn't eating a cake...I was eating an experience. Rich, sweet vanilla-almond batter with blackberries, marscapone cream and pistachio shavings on top...with a 'surprise' stuffing of a raspberry and halved apricot in the center. Every single bite was a celebration. I didn't want it to end. Desserts are in the £4ish range and is absolutely worth every pence. Two time's the charm, Ottolenghi. You are officially one of my top favorite foodie destinations in London. **Note: The ONE major downside: There is no public restroom in this location. But true, unconditional love forgives all shortcomings, yes?

Eric can be seen in the shop from time to time! (He was there when I went last weekend and he is exactly as you see him on TV). A bit of a trek to get to Battersea Reach, I must admit. One has to want to go there to go there, if you see what I mean. Visually glorious selection of cakes and some savory options. To be honest, I thought my cake, a pistachio powder dusted fresh cream sponge topped with fresh berries, tasted a bit bland. It was not cheap! Service was a little amateur but genuinely attentive. All in all, a nice place to spend a while away from the madness that is London. Merchandising within the shop is interesting. Apart from cakes, gift and skin care items are on offer. Some even displayed in and amongst the cakes displays? (Saw pots of hand cream placed within the cakes display) Not sure if that struck the right note retail strategy-wise. I would have liked to see more cakes/bakewares first because they really excite my senses coming to a specialist patisserie. The gift items are supplemental and need to be merchandised separately and carefully. Prices for the cookery school are not for the faint hearted!! A half day chocolate course comes in at just under £100 and a full day baking course costs £250. However students get to take the things they make home with them and a lunch is included in the price.

Beautiful Cakes!…read more This is a gourmet bakery. I actually think that the website does not do this business justice. The cakes are truly amazing. We've ordered them for birthdays and anniversaries. The cakes are decorated with fresh fruit and layers of architecturally designed chocolate. My favorite was the white mousse cake. They take special orders - if you need it to be egg free for example. Be sure to ask for the extravagant decoration on the top - because one time we didn't get it. But when we said something they immediately went back in and make the decorations fabulous. Five stars! Excellent quality for the price.

Service is extremely slow here!…read more Came for high tea when we were in London. They do high tea at only two times: 2:30 and 4pm. The high tea area is behind the bakery and it's much quieter and more intimate :) Decor was super cute and fancy; very festive for the holidays. We ordered the standard high tea which came with 5-6 savory bites and 5-6 sweet bites. After getting the tea, service went downhill. Three new parties were seated AND a party of 5 got their food before us (party of 4) along with two other tables who were seated after us. We had to flag the waitress down a few times since it seemed like they had forgotten about us :( Overall, good experience doing high tea in London but can't say I'd come back here for it again.

We hopped in our car and headed here one rainy afternoon. Street parking was a breeze here (pay by phone). The bakery itself is much more spacious than I anticipated with a beautiful indoor and outdoor seating space. Service was fast and friendly. Order at the counter and either take it to go or grab a seat and they will bring most things to you. If you're ordering bakery items they will give them to you right at the counter. If you're eating in prices are slightly higher (like most places in the UK. My kids all had the watermelon ice cream. We figured they were so big that we would eat the leftovers. That didn't happen.
