After trying to get ideas on their website, Alexis reached out to me directly and sent me sample pictures of the tower design. She was so friendly and extremely helpful. She definitely left my mind at ease with her warm personality. Not only was the donut tower GORGEOUS but it was also delicious. The flavors I chose were the strawberry crunch, banana pudding, fruity pebbles and the Oreo. These were all delicious! All my guest and I were very impressed with everything. I am so thankful to Alexis and her team! I will recommend this place to everyone I know for every occasion, even just a sweet tooth. And ofcourse I will be going back :)

Saturday 1/10/26…read more I've been eying this dessert spot for a while, and today I made it happen. I ended up getting the apple pie cinnamon roll $11.95, biscoff banana pudding $9.95, and the MEGA cookies n cream shake (sub for a chocolate chip muffin) $28.95. - Service was solid and helpful. - Although the apple pie cinnamon roll $12 price tag is a bit much, I still was able to enjoy it. The toppings were nice, especially the cream cheese, but the dough was underwhelming as it was a bit dry and slightly firmer than I usually prefer. - The Biscoff banana pudding was the main pick the staff member recommended, so despite not being the biggest banana pudding guy, I had to try it. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything impressive, but it was cool. Also, the biscuit taste was more so in the background. - The shake was pretty good, but not $29 worth by any means. The cupcake that I got with it LOOKED GREAT, but I can't say the same for the taste, as it was just alright. The Oreo donut was solid. All in all, I'm not really crazy or impressed by any of the items and definitely wouldn't spend that amount of money again (especially on the $29 shake), but I enjoyed the experience. -- #issa.cheatday

I walk in and to my surprise I did not expect for Chef Lou himself to be standing there to wait on me?! It's kind of like going to Wendy's only to be greeted by the little red head girl with freckles?! (Don't know why I get such a kick out of stuff like that). The bakery (no lie) is about the size of a handicap bathroom stall and is designed for pick up orders only. Chef Lou was very pleasant and talkative. We hit it off immediately. He gave me a complimentary mini sweet potato cake with cream cheese icing. While in the car I took a bite, then another. I could taste hints of orange and lemon, the cake was moist and very firm. The cream cheese frosting was made by scratch. I was impressed, this bakery does not cut corners when it comes to ingredients. Chef Lou also specializes in catering international cuisine such as Mediterranean, Indian, and Caribbean. His cakes are amazing; you can taste the love put into them! The strawberry shortcake was so dainty and the strawberries were fresh. My mom and all her church lady friends were tickled pink! Chef Lou is now my resident baker, I will no longer drive into the city to buy a fancy designer cake, now knowing that I have a gem right here in my own community!

I've been wanting to try out Chef Lou's Desserts for a while now - the last time I went, it was…read moreclosed a little early. However, I was able to finally make it this time around, about half an hour before closing time to see what they had to offer. Chef Lou Parker has been a chef for about 30 years and had this location for about 14 years. He is a really nice guy, and we had a great conversation in regards to the desserts and catering services he offers as well as him trying to offer a 'personal chef/intimate cooking classes' for those who are interested. He apparently caters to the World Bank, NASA, as well as conventions down at the Verizon Center, so I thought that was pretty impressive (he stated that his specialty is 'oriental' food, so I thought that was kind of funny). The place itself is small, so it's only a carry-out or where you call in to get your orders in. He offers pastries (cinnamon rolls, brownies, canollis, eclairs, etc.), pies (lemon, raspberry, French apple, sweet potato, etc.), fruit tarts, cakes, sheet cakes, and ice cream. They had some limited dessert selections, and I did ask if the goods were baked fresh daily (the answer was no, but he did state that they were still fresh) and which desserts were the most popular - Chef Lou stated that pretty much everything in the case, so we got one of each! They were all 'individual-sized:' sweet potato pie, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, a brownie, a cinnamon roll, a chocolate cupcake, a chocolate-glazed doughnut with sprinkles, and a square bread pudding. My favorite out of them all was the strawberry shortcake, as the shortcake itself wasn't overly sweet and was fluffy, while the macerated strawberries was delicious and a great complement. The others were forgettable, as they were a little stale/too dry/a bit flavorless for my taste. It seems as if this is a favorite local place for grabbing some bargain desserts, for catering services, as well as cake orders for events. I'm glad I was finally able to try this place out! +strawberry shortcake

There were a few options on the menu, so Michael came around to tell me a bit more about each one and help me narrow things down. I went for the sweet potato and it was so good! The crust alone was probably the best I've ever had! Before making my way over to the table, I overheard 2 separate people say that Think Cheesecake was better than Cheesecake Factory. For the price it really should be on point every time and with every item. Pumpkin Cupcake Not nearly enough pumpkin. Yellow cupcake was extremely dry. The caramel on top was good. Just an okay cupcake. Peach Cobbler Stuffed Cheesecake I loved that it had fresh peaches. The cheesecake again was overly dense and cream cheese could have been whipped longer. The Graham cracker crust was too sweet and a bit too thick. Very nice to look at. Cobbler pieces were delicious and made well. Brown butter Cinnamon Roll Plenty of pecans on top, which was appreciated. I also loved that they weren't skimpy on the frosting. There wasn't enough brown butter or something went awry because you couldn't even taste the nutty earthiness that comes from browning butter. While the roll was soft, it had a strong yeasty taste. Good amount of cinnamon inside. Out of all of the items this was the best. Maple Red Velvet Cupcake Overly sweet. The combination of the alcohol and the maple syrup resulted in a way too sweet to consume cupcake. The red velvet just okay. This was the opinion of 3 different people that tasted the cupcake. Buttercunch Mini Cheesecake I liked the Biscoff cookies on top. The cheesecake was overly dense. The cream cheese was not blended well enough. The caramel on top was nice. I'm a cheesecake snob so I have high expectations. Service was excellent. Store is only setup for Carryout. Menu rotates each week, check their website the night before for the menu. I love a rotating menu. Only open on the weekends, again check their social for hours of operation. All in all I spent over $100 and it wasn't worth it to me. I appreciate the presentation and how all the dessert look really good. I'm a foodie, I need everything to knock my socks off with every bite. Not a place for me, maybe it is for you?
