The music is pumping super loud, but for the most part the genres are the same from room to room. Or maybe I can't discern my house from my EDM? Plenty of youngsters out at night at the ABQ. I recommend this place for those with a lot of energy.

Later, after going to another club, we came back because we had gotten separated from our friends. While waiting in line to re-enter, we decided we were just going to go home instead. Since the entrance line was packed, we attempted to leave through the exit. As soon as I tried to leave, one of the "bouncers" immediately assumed I was trying to sneak into the club without paying, which made absolutely no sense considering I already had a stamp proving I had paid earlier. I repeatedly tried explaining that I was not trying to get inside and was actually trying to leave, but she refused to listen. Instead, she aggressively stopped me, physically pushed and manhandled me, called me names, and genuinely seemed like she wanted to fight me. Her behavior was completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly shocking for someone who is supposed to provide security. Some people take their jobs way too seriously and clearly have no idea how to treat paying customers with basic respect. This was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a club, and I will never step foot in this place again.

Price for drinks were good and I really like that they have a water station for free water all night. Didn't try the food but, it seemed pretty good. Last time I was here was back in 2019, they didn't have the other half of the bar then, so it got pretty crowded, and now with the other half of the bar and food section it's still crowded. It gets crowded after 10:00pm. Plus the PBR was in town which made it more crowded. Not sure what the crowd limit is for them but, I'm sure they were either close or exceeded it. I left at about 11:30 because it was too much. Band last night was ok, the music was louder than the singer so he was hard to hear. Floor for dancing was fine, as long as it wasn't too crowded. Had some good dancers to ask me to dance with which made the night really nice & fun. There were a good amount of security "bouncer's" there and for being a female I felt pretty safe. Didn't see any issues with any out of control people and if there was they did a good job handling it. There is only 2 places for the bathrooms. Near the front entrance to the East and in the food area in the far corner. The line was a little long but ok. I did notice for that one, they have female bouncers keeping the line moving as there is only 3 stalls with sinks in them. No sharing stalls ladies. As being one of the only country bars in Albuquerque, I'll go back for some more good times and dancing.

We had just walked in. Out of everyone in our group, there were definitely others who were actually intoxicated. If they felt that way why didn't they deny her entry? She was our DD. Better security is definitely needed. On the way out, I mentioned to security they need breathalyzers if they're going to kick out people for being "too drunk" when they're full sober. Security told me I was disrespecting them and I could be blacklisted. All in all, this place is extremely homophobic and had no attention to detail. There were plenty of people around us that were screaming and looked obviously more drunk than anyone who didn't get singled out. The bartender targeted her immediately. BS.

For food we had the green chile turkey sandwich with side salad and I'd defeinitely order it again! It was meaty and the bread was toasted just right. The side salad with the green chile dressing was a nice option. We also had the rojo maron chicken tenders and fries. The rub was a little sweet & spicy and the fries were nice and crispy. The frickles were one of the best I've had (and I've had quite a few). A little greasy at the bottm but yeah, they're frickles. Next time I'll try the fralapenos. The only one con was that there was only one guy - a really nice guy - taking care of the whole bar so things just took a bit of time.

Without food, but you could bring your own or order in. Nope, the brewery closes at 5:00 on a Saturday. We asked at our lodging about options, and Blackie's was on a list they gave us. Blackie's was classified on Yelp as only a liquor store, so it didn't show up on any searches. They do have a package liquor store on site as well. The front entry that is shared with the liquor store had bars on the doors. Inside, Blackie's had VFW/event hall vibes. There was not much to speak of in the way of decor. They did have food and you need to order from the Double C dining room server, which shares the space, and if you're sitting at the bar you'll have a separate tab. I was glad to see they had enchiladas with green or red chile sauce, and burgers with green or red chiles (1/2 pound or 1/3 pound). Prices were reasonable at $12-ish for a meal. The bar and neighboring large room featured pool tables and darts, and a 20-ish year old TouchTunes but there was no music playing. Sounds like after the dinner crowd leaves the music might get turned up. Our vantage point view was staring into an empty room with booths and wooden chairs, but eventually some people filed in there to play pool. There was no internet on our AT&T phones which led us to watch rodeo tv and talk to some of the customers. I drank vodka tonics and the Mr. had Coors Banquet. Our bar tab was cheap. Mr. R ordered the nachos, and they were pretty huge. I ordered enchiladas with green chile sauce and the presentation was quite nice and the beef tasted fresh. It was a good choice. People had to wait a bit at times for drinks, but overall this turned out to be a better stop than we expected!

The best thing going for the Albuquerque Square Dance Club is that it is one humongous space…read more The second best thing going for it is the great hardwood floors, which seem to have been upgraded since the hall was first built. The third great thing? The space can be broken up into two spaces: A large dance hall and a small dance hall, so two different groups can utilize the space at the same time. I was there this past weekend for a contra dance, which was in the smaller hall with a live band fiddling and picking. In the large hall, there was a rowdy square dance going on, and there was no noise interference between the two spaces. A fourth plus. A variety of dance groups rent the hall on a regular basis, not just for square dancing. The FolkMads, who specialize in contra dances, hold regular dances. And so does the Ballroom dancing group, swing dancers, aerobics classes or more. Even The Wilde Bunch holds regular dances. There seems to be events happening every night of the week. The hall has a nice kitchen, reception and area to sit down between dances. The only issue with this place is its decor a la 1970s dark wood paneling. But if you can get past that, you'll enjoy the dancing and music, whichever genre you choose. It seems like a great place for other types of dance, such as tango and flamenco, but they don't seem to be here, except for the individual dances which the ballroom dancing group has. So get out your dancing shoes, and head over to the hall for a night of dancing!
