For an appetizer, we had the Shishati grilled peppers with pesto/cilantro sauce, and they were just fantastic. They are mild, nicely grilled, and beautifully presented. It is served as an appetizer, but please be warned, one out of every nine peppers is exceedingly hot. We had about 12 peppers, and all of them were mild, so we beat the odds! I've had hamburgers all over the world, and I can honestly say I have not had a better cheeseburger than I got right here from the menu at Blackstock. It's in a traditional bun, lightly toasted, with tempura, onion, cracked pepper, mayo, Tabasco, candied and smoked bacon, and it is served with Hand-cut fries. You can add guacamole for a dollar, or blue cheese or Gruyere cheese for another dollar. But I did not add a thing; it was perfect as it came out of the kitchen for me! You will be asked how you want your hamburger cooked, and I chose medium. It could not have been better! It's on the menu at a very fair $21 including your hand-cut fries. My lovely dinner-date had the petite filet mignon, a 5-ounce offering of spectacular steak, served with goat cheese, potato croquettes, asparagus, stewed shallots, served with a Cabernet Demi glaze at $45. It was a large serving, I believe bigger than 5 ounces, because we are taking half of it home in a to-go box! Again, the food was spectacular... really good.
