Such a cute place! I went close to closing time so there wasn't much to choose from but the options available looked awesome. Their Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar is SO GOOD! The staff was nice, answered all my questions about the desserts and told me about their cute room rentals for events! Definitely recommend trying them

This place has the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life, hands down. The cupcakes are delicious and adorable looking, and in case you don't know what you like, they have mini cake testers you can try. They have a flavor for everyone. The lemon blueberry was what got them the win on Cupcake Wars and I completely understand why. It's the best cupcake I've ever had. The fact that the people who work there are so welcoming is just an added bonus. I would highly recommend this place!

Best part about this place, you get to sample each cupcake as a mini for free before you buy or in my case buy all they did'nt have left in minis, and take them home along with all the sample minis, greedy much? Other places sell them for upto $2 a piece, here as samples, I love this, best concept ever! The girls working here are as sweet as the cupcakes, know exactly what they are doing and love it which is always something I like to see and support. They have different flavors every day and then every month so I look forward to seeing what is in store for me next time. I got black bottom or was it black and tan?, a chocolate cream cheese, and it was delicious, strawberry, fresh and light, also yummy, guiness which I worried would taste like beer but as promised it just made the chocolate flavor come out more and with caramel filling it was my favorite of the bunch, and a super chocolatey one, really you can't go wrong with any of their options! Chocolate, coconut raspberry and red velvet minis, each one also a true delight! The prices are average, seeing how all these cupcake shops charge at least $3 a cupcake, one doesn't even raise an eyebrow about paying that anymore, PLUS they have samples AND won the cupcake wars on TV! Enough reason for me to stop by again next time I'm on my way to Michigan to see what they have this time!

Lemon cream. Not bad.

I keep meaning to review Cake In A Cup, but then I get all grumpy about cupcakes being a "thing" and I forget. I mean, cupcakes are awesome, I wish they came bigger...like cake. ANYWAYS, here's the thing with Cake In A Cup, it's super cute inside. The workers are nice. The flavors all have witty names and look very pretty. But the cupcakes don't actually taste that good. (I'll pause while you all throw things at me.) I tried, repeatedly. I wanted to adore these, but seriously, they are barely above "meh" for me. In fact, Sam's Club cupcakes rank higher. The cake part is always a touch dry, and the frosting too gritty, and the flavor overall is lacking. And I hate even saying any of this. I do cupcake (I'm using this as a verb) quite often, and maybe I've been spoiled by bakeries in New York and L.A. that charge the same price for a much larger, super moist and amazing cupcake. That being said, they have one cupcake that I find palatable, and always duck in to get a box before our monthly friends' dinner at Kyoto Ka, and that is the Black Bottom. So far, it's the only one I would feel justified paying for, and I'm thankful its super rich, because it's not even that large. Okay, so this is done and it's all out there. I feel better. Like I just went to confession.

This place reminds me of little cupcake shops that they have in New York, like Magnolia's. They have different flavors each day and the cupcakes are very moist and delicious! I'm not much of a dessert person so I don't really like it when the desserts are overbearingly sweet. But the cupcakes here are the perfect balance of sweetness! It's a great place to get an inexpensive treat!

Pretty, cute little jewel box of a store. Eight flavors were available, flavors like lemon-blueberry and black bottom cheesecake. The associate told me if you ask ahead two days that they will make a gluten-free chocolate one, which would be great for parties. My sister and I split a black bottom cheesecake. The chocolate was rich and fresh and creamy. The cheesecake part needed a little punch. Overall, for $2.75, it was a good treat!

What an absolute neighborhood gem!…read more How fortunate am I to live in one of the cutest neighborhoods in Toledo? When I consider all the great locally owned options in this neighborhood, I would say pretty dang fortunate! The dollop shop does not disappoint. It's like walking into a hug. The owner has the warmest kindest soul. She radiates sweetness. How appropriate for a place that serves sugary bliss. I don't know how I haven't been in here sooner, but I'm probably going to need to add an extra night to my exercise routine... because I will be coming back. They have a great variety for such a tiny shop. They feature savory items, not just your usual cookies and cake cakes. Now let's talk about their sweets. Who has a beautiful orange olive oil cake just sitting ready to be devoured? I came in this morning on a last-minute run to grab a cupcake or something for my husband's birthday. Nothing like last minute, I spotted the most gorgeously decorated perfect petite orange olive oil cake. We will be going out of town and staying somewhere that doesn't have breakfast, so I was able to pick up a savory "everything danish" and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything looks beautiful. The service is unmatched. Finding out they also serve to go, cocktails... Unreal! I just went down a rabbit hole exploring everything they offer. Don't sleep on this sweet little shop

I asked for something oddly specific, a custom order, the kind of thing that usually makes bakers sigh. Instead? Perfect execution. Directions included. Actual instructions, like you were being handed a small machine built of butter and sugar. No other local baker has matched this level of service. It felt human. It felt rare. If you need a sweet thing for a special occasion, this is the place. Highly, extremely, unbelievably recommended.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Eston's! I found them at a wedding expo where we…read moretried samples. They did the cake for our wedding and cheesecake for the grooms "cake" (my husband's favorite). We had no issues and the cake was beautiful, exactly what we wanted. This was in 2017 haha. I only wish they were closer to my home, and I would order all the time, but honestly for special occasions I make the 40 minute drive! Call ahead to order and you won't be disappointed. I also had them do my gender reveal cake recently and it was cute and delicious. My SIL who isn't even a fan of chocolate was impressed and asked where it came from. I sent them the gender info via email and they were so kind coordinating what flavor cake we wanted with what would work to show off the color even doing a test run ahead of time with frosting and calling me back to let me know without ruining anything. You see horror stories online and they did such a good job! Very communicative via phone and email. Yum yum. Will be going back for my daughter's first birthday cake.

I had high expectations. A minority owned business check. Especially a woman owned business check…read more Now they're on doordash, check. Checked all my boxes. So we ordered a little bit of everything. We got the chicken salad that I heard was really good. We got the gumbo which was the soup of the week during Mardi Gras time. I got some hot tea. I got some pound cake and some sweet potato pie. Now usually I don't order sweet potato pie from places because I'm almost always disappointed unless it's truly homemade like my grandma used to make. I have to say I was let down by this one. I kept trying to taste more of it to get some more flavor from it but it just was okay. I didn't finish the one slice that I got. The pound cake was okay again. My man loves chicken salad and they give you a nice Hefty portion here but he said it was way too many onions in there and he only ate maybe four or five bites before putting it in the fridge which is where it still is right now. The seafood gumbo was again average. My man says no comment lol but we go to New Orleans a few times a year just to eat. So this was a letdown for me. I didn't have anything great. I heard awesome things about this place. Maybe I'll come back and try the cookies but the desserts I tried here didn't do it for me and I wouldn't go out of my way for them.
