Family contracted with Mrs. Bowers, dba Whisk Catering and Consulting, to provide catering services…read morefor my daughter's wedding, which was held October 12, 2019. My daughter and fiancé had a tasting with Mrs. Bowers on August 4, 2018, at which time we paid a deposit for her catering services. On September 19, Mrs. Bowers forwarded her contract for services, and it was signed and returned to her. Payments for service to be provided were made as agreed upon and on schedule. We held up our part of the contract. However, Whisk Catering did not live up to their contractual agreements. Whisk Catering canceled on August 6, 2019 via text message. We were very disappointed that Mrs. Bowers canceled on such short notice without any offer for backup or suggestions for other caterers. However, we were even more upset to learn she filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy on May 20, 2019 and yet she continued to collect payments for services she never intended to provide. Although the contract clearly stated "If Whisk Catering & Consulting cancels for any reason all payments made will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation." no refunds were made by September 2019, nor have any refunds been provided to date. We are greatly disappointed and angered at the manner in which Mrs. Bowers conducted her business. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere for a catering service, and if you do hire Mrs. Amanda Bowers and Whisk Catering and Consulting, be sure you have a back up plan - you'll need it. And don't expect any return of monies paid.

My friends Emily and Michael hosted an international wedding in Paris, Arkansas on October 6, 2018…read more The location of the wedding was chosen because Emily grew up in Paris. Guests traveled from far and wide (New York, Florida, London (the real one), Germany, etc) to share in this beautiful day with their dear friends and to see what Arkansas was about. The wedding ceremony was held looking out over a beautiful bluff. Once the ceremony was over, guests were asked to head over to the reception for drinks and nibbles. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for this lovely couple. Enter Whisk Catering & Consulting. The food service started with plated salads. The bride mentioned we would have a Spinach & Feta Salad w/Strawberries and Vinegarette. However, something with cranberries and a nut was served. Not everyone (including the bride and grooms table) received said salad. Just as soon as the salads were served to a small smattering of guests, they were cleared, and a buffet randomly started very early in the evening. Guests were just expected to line up to get their food. I was one of the first in line and can say that even at that point in time, the food was lukewarm at best. Once I sat back down at my table, I noticed that my friend Emily (the bride) was looking very stressed. I have been close friends with Emily for four years and have never actually seen her as upset and stressed as she was with how Whisk Catering & Consulting conducted themselves at and post her wedding. It turns out that the buffet service did not start when it was supposed to and ended up completely ruining the entire tempo of the wedding. Apparently, the 13 year old daughter of the caterer told some of Emily and Michael's guests to start lining up at the buffet, when a prearranged plan was agreed to have tables called by the DJ. As a result of the early and unorganized start to the buffet service, none of the planned family speeches happened (largely because of the disruptive nature of the buffet and many guests left right after eating). As the night progressed, I noticed that there seemed to be a situation happening around the caterers and the wedding party. The next thing I see is my friend, the bride, in tears. Emily has since tried to speak to the owner of Whisk Catering & Consulting to find a resolution (either a refund for the food that wasn't served, or at the very least, an apology). The owner responded very defensively to Emily, citing that a person from the wedding party instructed her daughter to start the buffet service and without any apology started making slanderous accusations about the behavior of the bride herself and her wedding guests (they were allegedly very drunk and abusive). The thing that I find most striking about this statement is that the owners 13 year old daughter was allowed to 1) work in the State of Arkansas in a venue that was serving alcohol and 2) make such a big decision for the business. As a result of the owners refusal to, at a bare minimum, apologize for the catering disaster, Emily has posted reviews of this company on the internet. Looking at all of the responses that Emily has received, it's pretty obvious that the owner of Whisk Catering & Consulting has asked her friends to help her respond to Emily by bullying the one honest review on her business. Futher to the above, the owner thought it would be appropriate to link my Instagram profile to her commentary on Emily's review. I sent a direct message and asked the owner to remove the link as it is violating and an inappropriate use of my intellectual property. Instead of an apology, I received a quip about how she didnt believe that to be true. Months later, it would appear that she still hasnt removed my information from her feed. Overall, I'm writing this review because the incredibly unprofessional (and perhaps unlawful) behavior exhibited by the owner of this company. It would appear that the owner of Whisk Catering & Consulting is unable to take feedback and advocates bullying. If I lived in the area, I wouldn't employ Whisk Catering & Consulting and have spread the word to my family who do live in Texas and Arkansas.
