Not the best of cake shops, nor would I recommend it to a friend. The customer service is poor, I'm always ignored when I come into this store... which isn't very often anymore since I've found other places to shop. It seems they like to cater to a certain "look", I've witnessed on a few occasions them speak to some customers that enter and ignore others. The place could use better organizing and they seem to always be out of basics like high-ratio shortening. I've come here off and on for over 10 years and nothing has changed except the location. I live in Richmond so this is closer, but I usually drive inside the loop to friendlier & better stocked cake supply stores. I gave them 2 stars because I have taken a class or 2 here before which were beneficial... not sure if they still offer classes. read more

This is my absolute favorite place. I love to bake and decorate and this is my go to place. The associates are always helpful and have a good selection of every kind of baking accessory and/or cake decorating supplies. The classes are great! I did not get to finish my class due to a death in my family, but what I was able to attend was fantastic! read more

I have been trying to contact this business for several weeks for a private class. It seems that only one person does private classes and she has been unreachable. The ladies at the store are very sweet and have tried to leave messages for me, but I have not been able to speak to the instructor for information after reaching out several times. I'm very disappointed as I had very high expectations. read more

I love Cake Craft Shoppe. I have a LOT of cake decorating and flower making supplies of which most of them are from here. The staff is always great and helpful. It's my favorite place to shop for cake goodies. read more

The store was kind of smaller than I expected but they have a lot of things here that the bigger stores sell at a higher price. I came looking for cookie cutters and found a wide selection of them for such an affordable price! I would recommend coming here for any specialty items that you need for baking. read more

Love this place!!! They are a small shop but I always can find what I need and everyone who works here are super friendly! They have a lot of items you cannot buy at big craft stores such as ameri color food gel. Their prices are very fair too. They offer classes too which look awesome! I will continue shopping here for sure. read more

We offer basic through advanced cake decorating classes, from themed cakes to French pastries and everything in between! Whether you're looking to learn the basics or make a beautiful creation for a special event, we've got you covered. Our large classroom and instructors are also available to host birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and other private events and celebrations to teach the art of cake decorating! We are pleased to provide a number of guest instructor classes each year that are taught by top sugar artists from around the world, including pastry chef Ron Ben-Israel, Bronwen Weber, Jorg Amsler, James Rosselle, all from the Food Network. We also sell top quality cake decorating supplies for you to put your skills to the test at home! Since we are a full service supply store, we stock supplies for fondant and gum paste, and items such as boards and boxes, foil, tips, decorating bags, pans, decorating beads, and more. The Cake Craft Shoppe is proud to be locally owned and operated by passionate cake enthusiasts with over 50 years of experience! Located in Sugar Land, TX, we serve the greater Houston metropolitan area and would love to have you in our shop soon!

History

Established in 2000.

The Cake Craft Shoppe opened for business on the internet February 1, 2000 to make imported decorating products available for the retail buyer, as well as the retail supply store. Currently we specialize in products predominantly used for fondant and gum paste. Not only do we sell the products over the internet, but also at events such as Days-of-Sharing, Cake Shows and the Conventions. On March 15, 2003, we opened our retail store front . Since we are a full service supply store, we also stock standard items such as boards and boxes, foil, tips, decorating bags, pans etc. With over 12 years of wonderful customer relationships, we look forward to many more to come!

Meet the Business Owner: Sheila B.

Cynthia (red) became very passionate about cakes after her first child was born. Being artistically talented, cakes became a major part of her life. In 2004, she opened a bakery/deli and after several years, she sold it to became a partner in Cake Craft Shoppe. She has competed and won in the Ultimate Cake Off on TLC and a first place win at a show in New York. Sheila fell in love with making cakes from the moment she stepped into her first decorating class. After 10 years of baking, decorating cakes, attending cake clubs and international conventions, she took her passion full time in 2000 with an internet business and store front in 2003. With over 25 years experience each, they have a passion for sharing their vast knowledge through the range of classes offered at the shop. Both are national and international competitors and instructors. They still take classes to improve and learn new and different techniques. Both love helping locals make their cake dreams become reality.
