The cakes are always on point and the flavor is there. The owner Marce is nice and always accommodating to our orders.

The lady whom I usually order ALL my customized cakes from cancelled on me Friday (two days prior to my event). I quickly turned to my fellow Yelpers for help. I am a firm believer that everyone's experience is different; therefore gave this business establishment a try. I called the # listed and spoke with Marce (owner). She was very nice, sweet, and asked that I text her a picture of what I had in mind. I texted her a picture with details and advised her I'd need the cake for Sunday, 8/25 @ 11am. She called me back confirmed my order, took my credit card # in case I was a NO show she would charge me (understandable), I reassured her I'd pick up since I need the cake for my bf, and she confirmed the price. Which was extremely cost efficient! Pros 1) reliable 2) cost efficient 3) taste Cons 1) details (needs to sharpen up & it'd be flawless) Overall, I was happy & so was my bf! I'll be returning customer. P.S. I added the banner & candle. read more

Best custom cakes. We showed an example picture and what came out was even better. We had my son's 2nd and 3rd birthday cakes from here and they far exceeded our expectations. Check out the vehicle themed birthday cake. The cakes are very elaborate and detailed with impeccable design. They also taste great (we got strawberry shortcake). Thank you so much! read more

The cake looked amazing . That's the only reason I gave a 2 stars. I ordered a marble cake with raspberry filling . The cake was dry, not moist. The buttercream was nasty . I knew paying 45 dollars for the cake I got was too good to be true. Everybody at the party threw the cake away. read more

Cakes by Marce is our go to place! I had my bridal shower two weeks ago and placed an order here. We had already gone for a tasting for our wedding cake so we knew that we had to purchase it here. Everyone loved the cake. Not only did they love the look of it but the bread as well. The cake is so moist and has a delicious custard. P.S. Another bakery quoted us double what Marce quoted us for our wedding cake. read more

Picked up our beauty and the the beast cake and it was more beast than beauty. For starters, they misspelled our little cousins name. The fondant was a complete disaster and was cracked all over. I can keep going on about all the flaws but I'll just let the pictures do all the talking. Oh and they forgot to give us our order of chocolate pretzels which we had to go back for. Would not recommend under any circumstance. read more

If I could put Zero stars I would. Marce was very rude to my family as clients yelling and telling us she doesnt need our business. I found that very unprofessional as my mom wasnt being rude or yelling all she called was to let her know that the cake we got wasnt what we ordered. She made the point that my Cousin didn't complain when he was there but he cried cause he was so upset and didnt know what to do because he didnt want to be rude. Marce then proceeded to argue with my mom and said i dont need you business at all. We have been loyal customers to her and i dont find it right for her to treat us that way. read more

Working in Vernon, I looked for bakeries near me and I'm so happy to have found this bakery! I ordered a Dodgers Hat & baseball cake and I LOVED IT! Not to mention the birthday boy did too... Well everyone did. The cake was strawberry with fresh strawberries & cream -- the baseball was made out of rice crispy, and it was delicious! Total price = $50 (serving size 6-7) BOTTOM LINE: I loved it & I will order my next cake from here! Give them a try! read more

Ordered a baby shark cake and the work was horrible. The fondant work was crooked, falling off and far from what we expected or ordered. When I called the owner to complain she said the only thing she can do is take the cake back and give the money back. She was very rude and had a terrible attitude. This is poor customer service because I obviously needed a cake for the party and had no choice but to keep it. I will never buy from this establishment again. read more

I'm rating this based on customer service. I called Marce to get a quote for a 2 tier princess birthday cake and possibly placing an order. I was pleasantly surprised to find this great cake shop local to me. After getting a few rather expensive quotes, I decided to walk in and ask about a custom cake for a 1-year old's birthday party. She took my photo and basic instructions and created a great custom cake that fell within the theme's color palette. All of the guests were complimentary of the flavor, and it was a major hit! I can't say enough about what a great experience this was. read more

I wanted to surprise my mom for her birthday. Her being a coca-cola fan and collector we asked Laura if she can make a coca-cola cake. We left the creativity up to her. The only thing we knew was that is was going to have pineapple coconut filling. When I went to pick up the cake I was amazed. They knocked it right out of the park. She made the cake in the shape of coke bottle cap. It was awesome! When my mom saw it she was so happy that she almost didn't want to share any of it with the family. lol I will definitely be going back to them for more cakes. read more

I ordered a custom cake for my husband's farewell deployment party and was so pleased by the reasonable price, beautiful appearance, and delicious taste of the cake. I had called around to multiple bakeries, and Cake by Marce offered the best price for what I asked for. I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a cake for this party, yet wanted it to be special for my husband. Most other bakeries in the LA/OC areas were charging me at least $300 for what I was looking for. I requested a lot of detail on the cake, and this bakery created just what I was hoping for and described. Not only was the price excellent and the look of the cake fantastic, it also tasted great. The chocolate cake I ordered for 60 people was huge, and we had tons of cake left over. I am definitely turning to Cake by Marce for future events. read more

The cakes here are amazing! They give you exactly what was you ask for. They're so good with designing a cake based off ideas you throw at them, if it happens to be that you don't any have any pictures. They have a variety of flavors you can choose from which is great since you're not limited. Laura I believe is the owner, she is very friendly & willing to hear your ideas out & will tell you what they can do for you. Definitely will be ordering a cake from here soon :) read more

Cakes by Marce has been our to go to place for the past 15+ years! We are always so happy with their work. From our wedding cake to now our daughters cakes and cupcakes, they always seem to amaze us! The frosting and bread are delicious. I'm always asked, "where did you get the cake/cupcakes?" The people are friendly too. Today I was given a lighter by the owner because I had forgotten mine. She took out her purse and handed it to me. What wonderful people!!! My kiddo is always smiling once she sees her cakes and cupcakes. We love Cakes By Marce!!!!! Thank you so much. read more

Unfortunately I have to update my review on Cakes By Marce. Recently the quality of the cakes has gotten worse. Something has changed within the bakery and it's noticeable. I've attached pictures of my son's birthday cake that was picked up this weekend. The Grinch looked more like a frog, he had wacky eyes looking in different directions and was tilting towards the front of the cake. The fondant was poorly cut and had stains. The cake was not what I imagined it would be and it didn't even taste good which makes things worse. Their cakes use to be delicious! This isn't the first time I was unhappy here but it's definitely the most expensive time and last. Waste of $170 read more
