Once seated, we waited almost 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken, then 10 more minutes for our appetizer order to be take. Appetizer was out and we were enjoying it before our food order was ever taken. Once we placed our food order, we waited less than 10 minutes for it to be served. The crawfish cornbread appetizer was very meh, nothing to rave about. It tasted like jiffy, with dry, old oil crawfish tails on the top. Salad bar trip was something out of the 90s, very unimpressed with it, as the vibe this place seems to be going for it just did not fit. I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye grilled and the garlic whipped potatoes. Both were good, the potatoes did need some salt but overall was decent, but again nothing to just talk about over and over. Husband had the soft shell crab. When he ordered it, our waitress came back to our table and asked if he wanted the crawfish étouffée on top or the blackend shrimp. He was confused as he was under the impression, it didnt come with that, since it wasn't stated on the menu. He told her he guessed he would take the black and shrimp, but to please put them on the side, he did not want anything to interfere with the taste of the crab. When we received our ticket, we had been charged for the blackened shrimp. We asked our waitress about it and she told us she would remove them for us, because she thought that they came with the meal as well and it was a mistake in the system. When she brought us our new ticket to the table, she said well I guess your blackened shrimp are just on me tonight, super rude with a bad attitude and left! We were both stunned by this gesture. The crab left a lot to be desired, he would not order again, his green beans also needed salt and lacked overall flavor. Overall we give it a 5.5/10. Minden desperately needs a restaurant, but this one missed the mark for us.

We got close and Waze had us make a turn on Harris street and my wife panicked. It did not look like a journey meant for us. I proceeded to our destination and the parking lot was packed. We walked in and were greeted and seated. It was a hot day and it was open air seating. It took our bodies about 15 minutes to adjust, and become comfortable. Our server was Edward aka Bubba. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and were given a very generous portion. Bubba also added a complimentary crawfish and grits dish that was awesome. My wife ordered the fried catfish , and ordered the blackened Mahi. Both dishes were prepared to perfection, and presented tastefully. We received our order in a very reasonable time. We wanted dessert but they were out. Check this out though, when they do have dessert it is on the house. At Pop's Place the prices are very fair, the portions are over the top, and the service was on point and very hospitable. If you are in Texarkana I highly recommend Pop's Place.

Lots of mainly fried fish options, with a few grilled available as well. Fried Catfish! Wonderful proper crisp but light crust on a best ever thick filet light steamed with great flaky large filets. Shrimp really good and sides and gumbo are just right. Parking looked full but plenty of table space still available inside. They are known for very prompt service and food, so they apologized when it was going to take 10 minutes as they had just turned in orders for 2 parties of a dozen. Prices are quite reasonable, getting homemade quality for just about a dollar over commercial chains, with plenty of food on the plate. Unsweet tea was just brewed and better taste than you would expect... Worth the extra short drive around town to get there, and quite fine staff as well. Try it, you'll like it.

However, the overall experience was very disappointing, which is unusual for me because I have eaten here many times in the past and have never had a bad experience until now. We were seated, and our waitress initially greeted us and brought drinks for me, my daughter, and my friend. After that, service became difficult. It took a long time to find our waitress when we needed refills. Eventually, I had to get up myself, and another server from a different section was kind enough to bring our drinks. When the crawfish arrived, they were extremely small for the amount ordered (three and a half pounds). They were not hot--only warm--and very wet, almost as if they hadn't been cooked long enough. It honestly felt like we received the bottom of the barrel. By the time we received the check, I was extremely disappointed, especially considering the amount of money paid. I'm not sure what was going on that night, but this experience did not meet the standard I've come to expect from Crawdaddy's. I truly hope this was just an off night, because this visit was not the Crawdaddy's experience I've had or expected in the past.

They have a good selection of burgers, sandwiches, wrap & po'boys to choose from along with sides. They also have a counter with some house made ready to go food. I even saw a big pot of gumbo. I got a TURKEY BLT with no cheese. It comes on a fresh jalapeño cheddar bread that was not spicy - just very good. The turkey was shaved turkey with a healthy topping of bacon & lettuce. The BLT spread seems like a mayo spread with chopped bacon, tomato, & herbs. It was really light and good. My husband loved his SHRIMP PO BOY. He said the breading on the shrimp was delicious & bread was good. Our only regret was not getting fries or onion rings to try. There are several tables to eat inside and a couple right out front. There appeared to be several locals coming in to pick up food while I was waiting about 10-15 minutes for our food. I would highly recommend stopping here to eat vs your average gas station or fast food.
