The restaurant is large and open but still has a definite diner vibe. And the food is fantastic. We shared a crayfish poboy and a catfish basket (both with fries). Both were excellent. The fries were only single-fried, but were cut thick enough that they tasted good (especially when dipped in there positively delicious homemade ranch... seriously, all the World Cup tourists who've fallen in love with ranch need to find this spot). We'll definitely be returning as we pass through Texarkana fairly regularly going to visit relatives in AR. I'm just tickled that we now have somewhere more interesting than Taco Bell or Arby's to stop at as we do.

My husband loved the jerk chicken and he has a pretty low spice tolerance due to a geo tongue. I tried and thought it was good! Super juicy, not dry at all. Fries and mashers were good, pretty standard. He got the "gator piss" koolaid haha and said it was good. Cornbread was good, a little honey and or butter on the side would have helped w the moisture. Not sure if it's inconsistency on the workers or management but I really wish it didn't get worse over time. Either way the staff are all nice and friendly and get things done quickly so at least I've never been sitting at the window more than 15 minutes unlike some other places. Existing. At first it was cool. I met a couple of young guys. Super nice. Totally normal human interaction. We talked. It was fine. No problems. Excellent. Then they left. And, uh... yeah. Everything got weird. Like... record scratch weird. No bartender came over. No eye contact. No "hey man, what can I get you?" Just a lot of standing and looking past me like I was a ghost or maybe a very calm ghost. I tried to make casual conversation, because that's what people do in bars. And suddenly the room felt tense. Like I had accidentally walked into a staff meeting or a crime scene. At some point it hit me. Oh. They think I'm a cop. Not because I did anything. But because I was standing upright. And sober. And aware. Which, apparently, after 11 pm here is suspicious behavior. For the record, I am not law enforcement. I am just a guy who is cold and trying to hear music. I wasn't kicked out. I wasn't served. I was just... ignored. Like if they pretended I didn't exist long enough, I might fade away. So I left. Nothing dramatic happened. It was just awkward. Uncomfortable. And kind of impressive in a sad way. I walked into a bar and accidentally became a vibe check the place failed itself. This might work great for regulars or a younger crowd earlier in the night. But if you are a grown adult who knows how to behave in public, you may suddenly find yourself labeled "possibly undercover." Party on. I guess.

I got the ghost pepper cheese burger with a side of cheese curds and my wife got the classic cheese burger with fries. It took less than 10 minutes to receive our food after we ordered. Everything was fresh, even the fries so it was all very hot, nothing that had been precooked sitting under a heat lamp. The ghost pepper cheese burger was phenomenal!
