    Crawfish

I live in Dallas and travel to Lafayette for work often. Everyone kept telling me to come here for the best crawfish. Well, they aren't wrong. It was phenomenal. I also had the fried shrimp after it was suggested by a friend; also delicious. I believe I was offered 4 different spice levels, I went one below the spiciest option and it was perfect. Crawfish were perfect size, peeled easily, and taste was on point. I took off 1 Star because I had to wait an hour and a half for a table. When I was finally sat I looked around and saw several open tables. I would certainly come back and you expect a decent wait at a great restaurant; but the wait was excessive.

Always nice size yummy crawfish.. Great service.. Just always so cold in there!! 3rd time here... Love love this place!

Waited in line for over 5 hours. They said "take it or leave it" Piss poor service I'll never go back

Don't bother going if you don't have an inside connection. Waited over 5 hours. They said take it or leave it Not worth the time Staff doesn't care & told us we could leave if we didn't like it.

We love love love this place and we are picky. If you want super large delicious crawfish, this is the place. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is amazing. The two seatings are odd but part of experience.

I live in New Orleans and have been here for 8 years but originally from Morgan City. New Orleans may have their claim to fame with their haute cuisine but can't hold a stick, candle, or whatever you chose to hold to Cajun claws when it comes to crawfish. Get there early as in before they even start seating. You won't regret it. It will cut down on the wait time drastically. Get the fried shrimp for an app. You won't regret coming to the cajun coast for some of the best crawfish around.

Crawfish as big as your hand!!!!

Totally worth the 4 hour drive!! These are the best crawfish I have ever eaten. Big, juicy and huge claws. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, I've had no better. It's as though each one was hand picked. The corn, potatoes, and onions were fabulous. Will definitely be back!!!

Did a day trip out to Lafayette with some friends and shot down to Abbeville specifically for a Cajun Claws. I had tried it once before when I was in Abbeville on business and thoroughly ruined a white dress shirt. This time I was more appropriately attired. We got our spot on the "list" and heading over to Shucks for our 5pm slot. Although many on yelp have been critical of the system, it worked fine for us and we were seated promptly with the first wave of customers. Although the waiter simply asked 3 or 5 (pounds) one of my friends in a fit of pique requested and received a menu revealing options beyond crawfish. We were there for a single reason so everyone eventually ordered their respective portion but the table next to us got some fried stuff that looked tasty, I went with the five pounds extra hot and it was everything crawfish could be. Seriously this place has ruined crawfish for me - they are mini lobsters and cooked perfectly, don't think anyone else holds a candle. I will be making the 2.5 hour drive from New Orleans many times in the future.

*Absolutely largest and tastiest boiled crawfish I have ever eaten. The only problem is it is a long wait for a table. But worth the wait.*

While other restaurants in Abbeville…read morecome and go, the Park has stayed the same and keeps on serving up satisfying selections to locals and visitors alike. The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. In fact it is so historic that the restrooms are outside out back. However, this shouldn't deter the visitor looking for a good meal, as we all know that local hole-in-the-walls are worth visiting...

It's both familiar and different, a delightful play on themes we all know and love. One example was the Bougie BLT I had today. It's the Melt of the Month, and is what happens when a BLT and a high-end grilled cheese sandwich have a love child. There's other adult grilled cheeses that are really great. Then there the things on buns, which include burgers and roast beef. I haven't made it to the plate lunches yet, but I intend to someday. I am also highly tempted by the whole-meal potatoes, there's a seafood and a beef version. Sides are available, but I just can't get past the loaded mashed potatoes and the seasoned fries. Both are incredible. For the more diet conscious there are some very nice salads and wraps. Soups and gumbos round out the menu. Service is always very nice and the orders are served promptly. Given these things, I certainly will have the Southern Spread on my short list of places to eat in Abbeville!

. OK, just got back…read morefrom our first visit here. Everything is confusing, up-front, but the food is very, very good and it is a nice place. Let me take it item-by-item. "Food Truck", yes there is a food truck, but it is parked in front of a nice medium size restaurant-cafe. Plenty parking in non-shaded private corner concrete lot, well-marked. There is sufficient parking even for a couple truck/boat-trailer rigs. Easy street access; place is about one block east of the V.P. Court House & VPSO HQ, fronting on Charity Street (Old LA HWY 14) in the business/banking/government center. This is in an extremely competitive restaurant neighborhood, with a number of excellent established eateries. In fact, we often drive the 45" to eat at several of the older places here. Entire place is very clean & neat, including restrooms. Their kitchen closes @ 2:00 PM Sundays. Arriving about 1:20, we were the only customers. Sunday menu is limited to breakfast & brunch type items. Foods are typical for region. This town is famous for good cooks, great Cajun & Southern foods. Waitress is nice, but is unsure of menu items; the maitre d' is more knowledgeable. However, once we got our cheeseburgers & fries, the meal was excellent. Very good burgers, good fries. Overall, very good food, digs, & overall value. No real disappointments. We'll definitely be back, but likely on a weekday for lunch. Will add Southern Spread to our "go-to list", especially when pulling our small boat. This is a definite "Try it, you will like it place" ! Rick .
