Update (April 2026)…read more Came back on a Sunday around 3PM, and the service did a full 180. We were seated quickly, and our server Erin was on it. Great attitude, attentive, and things actually came out in a timely manner. Love to see it. I ordered a mojito and they did not play in my face. Made it properly with club soda instead of Sprite, so points were definitely earned there. Now... the food? Yeah, we need to talk. We ordered the brunch special, oxtails with biscuits and gravy. First of all, I'm almost positive that was pot roast in an oxtail costume. Let's start there. The biscuits? Giving frozen-from-a-bag, baked a little too long for good measure. But the real villain of the plate was that gravy. Because what do you mean this clearly didn't come from the meat? It tasted like it came straight out of a jar... probably store brand at that. And I'm just confused because gravy is literally one of the easiest things to make if you already cooked the meat. Why are we cutting corners here? So yes, we were seated quickly, treated well, and the drinks were solid. But the food? Absolutely not. If you're coming here hungry and expecting a good meal (which I was), please eat before you arrive. If you're coming for drinks, music, and a good vibe, then you'll have a great time.

Pharaoh’s Bar and Hookah - $10 Hookah, $30 watermelon head, $3 Ice Tube, and blue mist flavoring

I could be referring to everything incorrectly, but aside from the flavor and I've tube, everything else was just for extra price. Our waiter was quite pleasant and took her time explaining each component of the hookah to us. When we ordered three strawberry lemon drop shooters, she informed us that they would be served in a martini glass, so "we will get more." Because we ordered shooters rather than cocktails. We were given a cocktail rather than shooters, so we were unintentionally overcharged for that as well. Although they were a little underwhelming, we still drank them and had a fantastic time. It simply was not what we had asked for. Although we had a great time and the Hookah was tasty, I don't think any of the extras were necessary. Looking around the room, we looked to be the only ones who had splurged but were still having the same experience. The ice tube (?) is the piece I would repurchase. It was cool how it made the smoke colder. The blue mist flavor was very tasty, although it was about all you could taste. The watermelon head was an extra $30 or so, but it was just for show. We were advised that paying $10 more for a better hooka would allow us more smoking time, but we still had to replace the coal more frequently than expected. The atmosphere inside was casual; the security guard outside informed my partner he couldn't bring his small bag in, but then let in two other men, with slightly larger bags directly after him. That struck me as strange. I wish the atmosphere inside was a little more...stimulating? The space is already very small, so I don't think there's much for you to sit and look around at besides other people after your chat somewhat finishes and some of you are waiting for your time at the Hookah. I believe it might benefit from more decorations, better lighting, and either more TV screens or having the TVs show different things rather than all being on the same channel. If you're looking for a local hooka joint, I recommend you check them out. But keep in mind that it is a lounge, so they will try to upcharge you at every opportunity.

Great atmosphere!…read more This members only venue is all the rage! Here and there, the owner may open up the venue to the public, but for the most part, once you pay your dues you are in! This venue features: a cigar lounge, full kitchen, outdoor terrace, full service bar, fresh pressed juices with or without spirits, full menu, plush seating and a dance floor. You are able to custom your event to your liking or work with an event planner to bring your vision to an ultimate High! The owner, Sunshine, is just that a ball of sunshine! Super energetic and a great people person. Below the High on High Street, is FitBar... an exercise facility and you can also order food and get fresh pressed juices made to order. This venue is a win win... a real gem in the city of Portsmouth. This venue has been in existence for about a year or maybe less, but the joint venture, FitBar is going on its second year. I was impressed by the venue the first time I checked it out back in November 2017...very classy and sophisticated. Chic and sleek if you will. If you are interested in touring this venue I suggest you reach out to the owner or better yet sign up for an all inclusive membership. You will not regret its benefits and perks. This jewel in the heart of Old Towne Portsmouth is sure to be around for the long haul. Great atmosphere, awesome vibe, amazing clientele... Parking...there is street parking directly in front of the venue and several parking garages. Happy hour takes places at least twice a week. Check out the Facebook page for more details. This place does not disappoint... customer service, on point! Have fun and enjoy life :)
