Now, this was over 10 years ago when, I think, the management was different. Recently, I reached out to them to install another shower glass, and was told that they were very busy but they would be reaching out to me within a week and a half or so. Let me just say it's been over four weeks and I've yet to receive a courtesy call to say that they will be delayed for a measurement. I know that Nelson Glass tends to be quite a bit more expensive than other installers but I thought that their customer service and attention to detail would overcome the price differences. I guess I will never know if their attention to detail is worth their high prices because their customer service has become nonexistent. There are other businesses around Birmingham that value their customer base so I suggest you look around before reaching out to this company.

About a week later the door was repaired and ready for pickup. I was particularly pleased that the small wooden mouldings holding the glass in place were not damaged. The door, now reinstalled at my home looks great. Especially important to me is that all of the employees I interacted with were engaged with their tasks but happily gave me time and answered my questions. None of those "insurance regulations prohibit customers in work area signs" either. These guys have been in business for many years and make it look easy to turn out quality work. Locally owned businesses that have long term experienced professional employees are the backbone of the US economy. I am very satisfied with their work and the job cost about half of what I had anticipated.

There were unexpected issues that arose during the reassembly phase of my initial service that were…read morethought to have been mitigated by replacement of a relay, but after taking the vehicle home I had a variety of strange error messages and difficulty with the car including such issues as unexpected enabling of the traction control system, messages to check engine that mysteriously cleared on their own, another service message that said to see the manual and required use of "limp home mode" which also mysteriously cleared afterward. I was unable to unlock the car except for using the key manually, and so forth. Upon returning to the shop, the technicians did a thorough review of the error messages and - due to a recurrence of battery related messages sprinkled throughout all the other error messages saved by the system - hypothesized that the issue was actually cascading from a failing battery. Although this was a coincidental occurrence in terms of timing, I was offered a really good quote on the cost of the battery and no labor costs for changing the battery. Since that time everything has operated perfectly. I am so extremely satisfied with the extra mile service provided by Sherrill Paint & Body and I would recommend them to anyone in need of paint & body work as they are hardworking, generous, and open about their repair process. Not to mention, the body work I initially went in for was completely flawlessly and the car was returned to me in such wonderful clean condition inside and out. I could not be happier with my experience.

They made it a point to understand what type of speaker upgrade I was looking for and they performed a sound check to identify what was required. I was concerned about taking the dash apart (factory speakers) because of the age of the vehicle. Once they recommended replacement speakers, I let them know that I could schedule an appointment for later to come in for the installation, but they were able to get the speakers and install them while I waited. They were very knowledgeable about the replacement process and the speakers sound great. This was something that I had wanted to do for a very long time and this shop made it happen quickly.
