Omelette

A fun spot for breakfast and people watching in the West Village -- they have a great outdoor patio with seats facing the sidewalk. It's a short walk from the West Side Highway and other Chelsea and West Village spots! The service here is really great, the waiters are friendly and have a great sense of humor. The Hot Chocolate here was DELICIOUS! We got a French Toast and Omelette to share and both were yummy -- portion sizes were great to share, we finished every bite!

After a quick search on TikTok we were sold on Cafe Luna. Let me tell you..... the place is small but don't let the size fool you! They are on point! I got a brunch burger and baby got the BEC bacon egg and cheese waffle sandwich. The food was amazing. In addition they have a nice menu deal which offers a mimosa or Bellini for about $25. Def 10/10!

The smoothie i got tasted delicious but it was weirdly really airy and foamy? Did not taste like a $12 smoothie. The place was cute and small but the service was pretty slow. I walked in to grab a quick drink not realizing it looked more like a sit down place. The servers did not have the friendliest attitude but they weren't rude either. The food did look delicious when i was waiting for my drink. Maybe I will come back to taste the food and drink other than smoothies.

Caramel Pecan French Toast Brunch

Affordable brunch spot with ok options. Portions are smaller than expected, but with the price, you can't complain! Will say that everything about this place is ok - Service was quite slow and we had to really track our server down, asking multiple times for the same thing. Our server was friendly though, and it was busy.

Stopped in with a girl friend on a Saturday morning around 10:15 and we were able to be seated immediately. I thought it would be more coffee-shop vibes but it definitely is more of a sit down breakfast place, meaning you don't order at the counter. I got an iced latte with coconut milk (they had a great selection of non-dairy milks) and one of their chocolate croissants fresh out of the oven. My friend had one of their smoothies (they have a huge list of smoothies randomly...takes up almost half a page of their two page menu). Croissant was very good, smoothies are pretty small for the price but my friend enjoyed. Good. easy place to pop in, the food coming out of the kitchen looked tasty and they have vegan sausage which I love to see on a menu. By the time we left at 11:15 it was packed. Recommend going early if you want a seat inside. Service is pretty slow for such a small spot so don't plan to be in a rush.

In all honesty I didn't enjoy my experience here. The service was ok, the food was overhyped, and the dining area is extremely cramped. Details will be given. I found this place on tiktok last minute and it felt as if I was bamboozled. The presentation of the food was great though but the taste wasn't anything special except for maybe the omelette. Food: French Toast [4/5]: It was good. Topped with the syrup was even better. But it wasn't the best thing in the world. The taste didn't stand out to other french toast i've had. I wouldn't go crazy over it. Blueberry pancakes w/ turkey bacon [3/5]: The pancakes didn't taste special. They weren't nasty but they weren't really that good. It tasted frozen. It wasn't since we can see them make everything but it wasn't all that good. The bacon was good though. Omelette (customized -- spinach, green and red peppers, onions, and Swiss cheese) [5/5]: This was outstanding. It's big and comes with sides as well. It's really cheesy too if you're looking for a cheese pull. It was phenomenal highly recommended. Apple cinnamon iced chai [0/5]: This was disgusting. I would 100% ask if there are options to sub the milk with because it had absolutely no taste. It felt like I was drinking cinnamon water. Other than the cold foam it's flavorless and could use some type of cream or different milk substitute. Service [2/5]: The service was ok.. There was 1 person in charge of taking orders, completing transactions, bussing tables, and serving orders. Everyone else is cooking. You can tell he was stressed because he had customers yelling at him, people waiting to be sat, a line outside the door, doordashers shoving their phones in his face while also completing transactions all at once. He seemed a bit annoyed at times but it's understandable as to why he felt that way. Atmosphere [2/5]: It was horrible. It's cramped for people dining inside. Extremely small and boxy with no sense of privacy it's like you can hear the next persons conversation or hear them chewing. Times where you might accidentally bump into someone's table while getting up. TLDR; Wouldn't come back -- looks can most definitely be deceiving. Everything was mediocre except for the omelette.

Food was good and good presentation. Smoothies were good and flavorful. Small, tight fit little area with baristas and servers complaining right in the middle of it all. It's probably just a NY thing, but no personality, no hospitality, couldn't care less about the customer, we were just an inconvenience to their job.

Medium roast coffee with biscotti

This place was our breakfast stop this Oct Saturday. We reached early and got a seat outdoors facing the NY streets. A very NewYorky thing to do - eating your breakfast right next to folks walking their dogs!!! Coffee was good - brewed fresh and hot, came with a mini-biscotti. Tofu scramble and milky-way-chicken sandwich were good and made fresh. Service was quick attentive and with a smile. They have weekend brunch menu - entree and a coffee/tea drink. Overall a good experience!

Spoke to an old Chinese customer who said this location was the old Kam which decided to close due to rent increase. The new owner has done a good job with the renovation, bright, modern and clean. Both the hot food and bakery were better than the old Kam Boat, may be less variety (e.g. they don't have the Green bean with sea weed dessert drink). They take credit card but with 3.5% surcharge. Good to have another alternative eatery in Chinatown.

Huevo Ranchero Burrito Brunch

Perfect example of a "mid" restaurant. Not great, but not terrible either. Surprisingly busy on the weekends for such a meh brunch place, the service starts lacking right around 11:30 AM. Nothing wrong with the servers, I could tell they were trying their best, but they are severely understaffed (based on the weekend brunch times only). I ordered the Huevo Ranchero Burrito and it was pretty disappointing but at least it wasn't inedible. Plus, their brunch deal of an entree + a mimosa/bellini/red or white sangria is only $23.95 together, which is a great deal so there's that to consider. The interior is cute and welcoming, but I probably wouldn't come back based on the food and service. There's plenty of better brunch/lunch places in NYC, trust me!!

Caramel Pecan French Toast w/ a Baklava Latte
Tessa S.

This is such a cute spot in the West Village. For brunch, I recommend getting the French toast. I love that they have a deal of one entree and one drink for a certain price. The service is very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely have to come back to try some of their dinner menu items.

It's a cute European style cafe in the meat packing district, but I would choose a different cafe if you want coffee or good pastries! It currently has holiday decorations up! The barista was kind, but the orders got backed up quickly.

Shakshuka, Matcha Latte
Julia Q.

Such a cute spot in the West Village, but sadly feel that the food is severely overpriced for the quality. They have a brunch prix fixe menu (around $21 I believe), but somehow my bill ended up being closer to $30. Shakshuka was unremarkable. Arrived cold and it tasted like I was eating jarred tomato sauce and eggs. Matcha Rose latte tasted more like sweet rose milk than anything else. I think there are definitely better options for brunch, but I'd be willing to give their pastries a try next time I'm in the area.

I got the original cinnamon roll and the April special, which was carrot cake. Also got a strawberry shortcake matcha. The rolls are big! Worth the price and wait in my opinion. I preferred the original over the carrot cake. The carrot cake roll had some big pieces of carrot lol a bit unexpected because I assumed the carrots would be a bit more finely grated. but not bad! the carrot taste is just a lot more prominent. strawberry shortcake matcha was good, but I think the cinnamon rolls are the real star here. There's a good amount of seating. Staff is very kind. Def want to come back to try the other special cinnamon roll flavors in the coming months!

They were very good, do not get me wrong. And if I lived in the area, I probably would come here quite often. However, they don't hold up well as leftovers so I would only buy what you're able to eat that day as it loses a lot once it's no longer fresh. The coffee was honestly nothing to write home about which surprised me since it looked better, maybe I got a bad batch. The store itself was cute inside, liked the little play area for kids. Again if I lived in the area, this would probably be a good spot to get work done. Maybe it's for the best that I live far... as I'd probably be getting cinnamon rolls far more often than I should be.

We were greeted warmly by whom I assume is the owner. Since I love pistachio, it was a no brainer for me. As one of my companions is trying to decide, I mumbled under my breath..."the Rose latte is really beautiful." He sighs and says to the barista...okay, I'll have the Rose latte, I'll let her have her picture. I tell the barista that I want it in one of those pretty cup and saucers. I was giddy as a little girl when I got the lattes. Soooo eye-pleasingly beautiful. Most of the Rose latte pics on Yelp has the leaf in white, mine was PINK. I am not a fan of any drinks that taste like a rose. Curious I did take a sip and I was wowed. The rose flavor was very subtle in a wonderful way with the perfect balance of the coffee. I loved my pistachio but decided to switch the rose latte with my companion. It was the best rose lattes I have ever had. They also have homemade treats. Their pistachio baklava is PERFECTION, not too overly sweet. I could eat a dozen of these in one sitting. Limited indoor seating with only 2 tables outside.

Still a fan! They put a lot of effort into their lattes. We've been on a pistachio latte kick and…read morehave been testing them at different coffee spots and cafe vista makes a solid pistachio latte... they even put real pistachios in the latte art!

After being away from Jersey for about seven years, I came back with high expectations and memories of pastries that once set the standard. The Kouign-Amann used to be the star--beautifully buttery, flaky, crunchy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Now it's dry and lacking the rich flavor it once had. The madeleine was another disappointment: dry and forgettable. To add to the frustration, their policy of not accepting $50 or $100 bills feels unnecessary and inconvenient. The one saving grace, and the reason I'm giving them three stars instead of less, is their financiers. They remain excellent--moist, nutty, and full of flavor, just as I remembered. I truly hope Choc·O·Pain can return to its glory days, because when they're at their best, few bakeries can compare.

We grabbed seats in their main dining area and managed to avoid being seduced by the crusty bread, buttery croissants, and other sweet desserts that lined the display cases next to us. Sticking to drinks only, I ordered a warm, almond milk cappuccino, which was rich, creamy, and well-balanced. There was apparently another floor of tables above us, which would make a great working space, though I did not see it myself. Overall, Choc O Pain is a lovely, charming French patisserie worth a visit.
