Now open where once stood Wellfield Diner, this nice Cafe serves a large variety of teas, coffees and soft drinks, as well as very good cakes.
They serve different cakes through the week, which helps you find something different to taste with your drink when you go back there.
But the best reason to visit the place is the food: Stuart and Dorothy are working hard to give you a delicious meal for a very reasonnable price. With dishes inspired from traditional french meals and a twist of welsh cooking, this is a very good place to eat lunch. Just be sure to check their Facebook page or their website to know what the day specials are - coq au vin, beef bourguinon, pâté en croute, tartiflette - all homemade!
They also offer a special "Sunday lunch" which is halfway between the traditionnal Sunday roast and the french pot-au-feu. There's plenty to eat and it's really good food.
The place is quite small but the music (french, of course!) and the decor, are really nice - I was really impressed by the chandeliers!
If you go to Cardiff and visit the Albany Road area, this place is definitely worth a try. read more
