Decorated from a time long ago with a laid back atmosphere. Open late -3 am. They offer a light Breakfast and some Tapas but the main draw is their Orange Liquor drink (Aqua de Valencia) as well Cocktails. Tea, Coffee and desserts are also options. First visit sat outside and had a Majou. Tasty local Lager. I was curious about the Grand Mariner coffee. Turns out it doesn't have Grand Mariner in it and so an orange aromatic coffee. Strong with a hint of Orange. I liked it. Second visit I ended up sitting inside as this Hostess said you have to have a party of 4 to sit outside. Different Hostess new rules. So I took a seat inside and ordered a Cappuccino and the recommended Chocolate Rum Cake. Dense cake with just a hint of Rum-delicious. Capp was also tasty. They only sell their Agua de Valencia by the Jarra (pitcher) so I got a shot to try which was a nice touch. Similar to a Mimosa but less bubbles. Since they weren't as busy & tables were open I ended up moving outside for a Beer. Service was hit or miss and can be slow depending on how busy they are. Once they got to you it was fine. Good spot to enjoy cocktails and gaze at the eclectic decor.

We're from New York City and finding a dimly lit "dive bar" in Spain was incredible. It has an edge to it, but the bartenders were amazing. Our Español was pretty terrible, and they helped us out. We ordered two large beers and were handed a plate of tapas all for 3 euro... which led to several more rounds... and then led to us returning the next night. I would've happily returned night after night if our itinerary did not put us on a train to Seville the next day. Hands down the best olives we had during the entire trip. I love the decor. I love the whole vibe of the bar - and it got pretty lively in the evening. I look forward to returning to Valencia and I hope to find La Paca thriving. If you happen to be in the El Cabanyal neighborhood, please stop by!

Restaurant dining is made an experience when service, quality, and atmosphere combine. The owners…read moreof Food Club have created a unique gastronomic design, utilizing the local flavors to surprise diners in new and exciting ways. With the range of presentations, and the variety of available flavors, this Valencia restaurant is one club worth joining. I met my best friend for dinner, and we were ecstatic about the chance to eat at Food Club, as it has come highly recommended. We were impressed with the restaurant design - a modern space with neutral, calming gray tones mixed with classic black and white. Sunny yellow accents in the chairs and artwork help brighten the space and add a pop of color. It felt clean and minimalist. We started with the Duck Airbag appetizer, which is dough stuffed with foie gras and then topped with duck ham, as well as an order of tortillas with tuna tartar and toasted chilis mayonnaise, which was the perfect balance of sweet and spice. My friend opted for a Russian salad, which he stated was fresh and succulent, while I enjoyed the artichokes carbonara the best. Stuffed with cream of yolk, pieces of bacon and parmesan, the artichokes were meaty and tender. We also sampled oriental style aubergines with sweet and sour sauce, which was a unique spin on a classic vegetable. I'd never thought to combine aubergines with the distinct Asian flavors, but it had worked so perfectly! My friend commented on the spicy chicken bao - crispy chicken with lettuce - and loved the amount of heat to the chicken. The lamb curry with couscous made of cauliflower and broccoli was also something very different, but delicious. The flavor was earthy and spicy. Dessert was probably my favorite course, as I indulged in vanilla ice cream sandwiched between hazelnut biscuits with roasted hazelnuts and hazelnut chocolate cream, while his dulce de leche ice cream with chocolate covered nuts looked just as spectacular.
