Initially I saw the photos on yelp, and decided to avoid this restaurant. We ended up walking through the neighborhood instead to find a place to eat. The restaurant is much nicer in person than the dive photos shown here. It had a nice atmosphere and people both young and old were enjoying drinks outside.
We went early at 6:30 and had sangria and once the kitchen was open at 7pm we ordered tapas. The waitress was on her own and managed the crowd so well. Service was fast and food came out so hot we had to wait for it to cool before eating.
We were served with an onion omelette on top of a slice of baguette first which was both delicious and complimentary. I'd give them a 10/10.
Fried mozzarella sticks with smoked bbq sauce. 3/10 (this is probably due to personal preference in taste.)
Fried calamari 6/10 (calamari was nice but cut so thick it had no choice but to be chewy)
Chorizo sausage 1/10 (didnt appear to be cooked but it may be the style)
Pork medallions 7/10 (a full meal came with garden salad, potato salad and 6 pork medallions fried. Salad was heavy with dressing and potato salad was more mayo than potato but the pork was great)
The meals are HUGE and the tapas servings are HUGE. We ordered way too much food. Overall I would class the food as heavy comfort food. read more
