We were in London touring around and needed a break and some drinks because it was hot. So we went in and sat down and immediately we were taken care of. The server was great, in fact everyone was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our beverages and a little snack. The food was very good and I can see why it's always busy. I had a very disappointing and humiliating experience at Caffè Concerto Whitehall on Sunday, 24th August 2025 at around 8:30 PM. My wife, my little son, and I were treated in a completely unprofessional and discriminatory way by one of the staff members (male, wearing glasses, refused to give his name). From the moment we sat down, no one came to serve us as if we were invisible. When my wife politely asked to see the cakes, he rudely said "you have a menu" and then dismissed her with "whatever." Later, he came to our table, snatched the menu from us, and shockingly said: "we don't serve people like you" in front of everyone -- a clearly racist and humiliating comment. He even continued shouting and trying to make it look like we were the problem, while sarcastically thanking other customers for coming. We felt truly insulted. We've been in London for a week and visited other branches of Caffè Concerto almost daily with excellent service -- but this branch and this employee ruined our experience. This behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional, and racist. I hope management takes serious action to ensure no other family has to go through such treatment. read more

Maybe for time to waste on a coffee and a pastry try this place. We walked by this place each day of our trip. I knew it was a chain. On our last morning in London we asked the hotel that we were staying in next door where we could go for a good breakfast. Reception mentioned cafe concerto and I made a face to which he laughed and said "I've had a breakfast there it was good." We walked by and peaked in. The decor is cute so we decided ok let's go in. We ordered cappuccino and our full English breakfasts. Took atleast 10 mins for the cappuccino to come. They were not great. We wait.... And wait... I witness the look of impatience on people's faces. After 45 mins from ordering I finally get up and look for my very legitimately busy waiter. I say "sorry... we have been waiting a long time for our food." People nearby me hear me and decide to go somewhere else. I told them they were smart. Apologies happen. He goes in the back. Ten mins from then our food comes out. We devour it in about 10 mins. It was ok. Not the best English breakfast. The beans were worse than Heinz tinned beans. Flavorless. The check was promptly given. There went our last morning in London. Wasted time. Not a great experience. I should have stuck with my gut. read more

I met up with a colleague here before a business meeting. I got there early and found a table near an electrical outlet. While waiting for my colleague to show up, I had a mint tea and pain au chocolat. The tea and pastry were both good. The ambiance is very much like a Parisian Cafe. Randomly stopped in here on a Saturday morning without knowing anything about it. I was pretty surprised to look it up after the fact and see it had such low reviews. We were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was really lovely and felt high end for a casual brunch. Our waiter came by with menus and they have a surprisingly large amount of unique options. I ordered their Honey Vanilla Alternative Latte, the "alternative" being that it doesn't actually have caffeine, but I requested they add espresso and it was absolute perfection. For food I kept it simple with bacon and eggs on a half an English muffin. They gave me a huge amount of eggs that I couldn't even finish but everything tasted good. Their portions are a bit on the dainty side so those with large appetites may want to order a couple options. I also had an almond croissant from their bakery options which tasted good but would have been better if they'd warmed it a bit. Overall great experience here, would definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for a nice breakfast/brunch experience. read more

Really should be 3.5 stars, it's an overly decorated place in a touristy location by the horse guard. Although it claims to be opened at 7:30, the cook didn't show up until after 8. Then I thought I should wash hands and asked directions for the toilet from a waiter who was who standing bit far from me. Well this bloke called Raj, sort of racially profiled me as said, we don't allow non cutomer to go to toilet, I said well I am a customer, this bloke insisted he saw me coming from the door, then I pointed towards my family, so he again said something about me coming from front door, by this time , I had lost my patience and told him, the confusion is his fuc$&ing problem as he is policing the toilet. This place is very Italian and very English at the same time, not sure if I can explain. You'd have togo yourself. Carmen and the rest of the staff made our London dreams come true! I had purchased "Buy a gift" vouchers on Black Friday for our family trip to London in March. I had purchased three vouchers for "afternoon tea for two" (as we have a group of 6, plus a kiddo in a wheelchair unable to eat by mouth). I was unable to arrange my reservation online through BuyAGift as I had multiple vouchers. I attempted to contact the restaurant through email prior to our trip to arrange the reservation. I did not get a response directly. We decided to stop by the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us (we did not have high hopes, as we are a rather large group and not every seating arrangement is right for our wheelchair kiddo, in regards of not having his wheelchair be in the way of service to others). I was so lucky to speak with Carmen. She is lovely. She went out of her way to accommodate us. This included moving a very kind family, who had just been seated, to an adjacent table so they could place tables together for our group. Carmen then worked through the validation and acceptance of my three vouchers, which requires some time. Carmen was so gracious and kind. She then explained the afternoon tea to our group. The afternoon tea sandwiches were delicious and the rolls that a couple of the sandwiches were served on were pillowy soft and the perfect compliment to the fillings. The scones were moist and tender, the clotted cream and strawberry preserves included made this my favorite tier. The selection of pastries were fresh and varied. I am a retired pastry chef who has spent years working in both front and back of the house in varied establishments. I was very pleased with our whole experience. All of the staff were lovely and attentive, without being obtrusive. The tea was well-prepared and fresh. My husband and I went to this establishment because it was the first breakfast place on our way from Westminster Abbey. We both got the eggs Benedict. My husband got an espresso and I got a honey vanilla latte. Warning!!! The latte is steamed milk, not an American latte which includes espresso. I was extremely disappointed due to the lack of caffeine which I desperately needed that morning. We also got a scone with clotted cream and jam. The eggs Benedict was delicious, and the scone was good. My husband really enjoyed this breakfast, and I was satisfied. I would have really enjoyed it if I had gotten my caffeine. There are quite a few Caffé Concertos in London. We ended up frequenting this particular location more often than the others. While it is a good option for a quick afternoon tea or coffee and desserts, we ended up having lunch and dinner there as well. The decor and ambiance is supposed to resemble a traditional Italian cafe. The desserts are excellent. They offer a large variety of pastries, gelato, and coffee drinks. We also tried the afternoon tea with the sandwiches, pastries, and condiments. All were quite respectable. I also tried their Veal Milanese and it was quite good also. They also have a full bar. The service is hit or miss. We had very attentive service at a different location of Caffé Concerto, but at this location it was invariably slow and indifferent. We found ourselves working very hard to flag down our servers for not only food and drinks but even to bring and collect the check! The place does get busy but then again they should be prepared to handle it. Anyway, a nice option for quick (slow service permitting) and relaxing bite and drink! read more

My wife and I were on holiday recently and London England when we discovered Caffe Concerto at this location near our hotel. The food was good, but what really made the experience great was out server, Carmen. She was polite, and extremely attentive to our dining needs. Carmen was such a pleasure to meet, and it was because of her that we returned the next day for dinner again. We were so happy that she once again was our server. Don't know when we'll ever get back to London, but if we do we will definitely return to Caffe Concerto becuase of Carmen and their wonderful food. read more

I don't know what the people in the negative reviews are talking about but this Cafe is so great! Don't order the basics like pizza or sandwiches as those will most likely not meet your expectations like the way American people cook. If you order dishes like the pastas, lasagne, steak, lobster etc, and of course the desserts as well as the tea... YOU WILL BE AMAZED. I ordered the spaghetti salmon and it was so creamy with the nice smell of basil. My boyfriend ordered the sea bass and that dish was also creamy. We ordered chocolate gateaux which wasn't too sweet so that was perfect!!! Overall, this cafe is so lovely and I would recommend it. A plus for the servers too! Thanks for being so great. read more

Coffee concerto ??! I regret stopping by this place. I ordered a veggie pizza and a slice of pistachio cake. The pizza came fresh and looked ok, but it was heavily covered in cheese and slightly with veggies. There was like half kilogram of what I think is a very cheap kind of cheese. I had to peel most of the cheese off my pizza to be able to eat. Obviously, I couldn't finish my pizza but ate half of it because it had enough of that cheep cheese to cause a heart attack! The enormous amount of cheese they put on their pizzas makes me believe that they are using the cheapest kind and it makes my mind spin because they call themselves an "Italian place " for sweets, authentic dishes, and pizza. Now let's talk about the pistachio cake, it looked very old the taste was very cheap also. I had a lot of discomfort after eating it after scrapping off its too sugary frosting. These people allure visitors like myself to enter their place by the nice decoration and nicely designed seating area, and they balance this out by using the cheapest materials in their cooking thinking that they can fool well-travelled people like me. I've seen and experienced a lot you people at Coffe' Concerto"! However, they were nice enough to seat me next to a power outlet to charge my phone which was running low in battery. I had been wanting to try Mille feullie the whole time on our trip through 8 cities but just had not found a place that had it, or maybe I just didn't search hard enough. So as we were waking in the area, the desserts in the window caught my eye and my fiancée happened to notice that Mille feullie was at this place so we decided a pit stop was necessary. We were sat pretty quickly and since we were just here for dessert, we ordered right away. Our server paid no attention to us after we ordered and someone else ended up taking over our table. This place gets one star for location and for menu variety. The food itself isn't very good. The lobster risotto had hard pieces of shell in it and the lobster tail was the smallest saddest thing I've ever seen. The lobster was chewy and overcooked. I tried to order dessert but they were out of the tiramisu, the Mille feuille AND the eclairs. I got three macarons and all three were hard and cold. Tempted by the afternoon tea on display in the window, we chose to eat here yesterday lunch time. Service was busy however wait times were longer than needed and we saw a few people walk out. Need to say getting the attention of the staff is very difficult as they seem to be oblivious to your recognition of existence. Food on neighbouring tables all looked lovely but we were smitten with the afternoon tea. On its arrival it didn't disappoint in looks however the sandwiches were stale on one side like they were the ones in the window and the flavours were poor. Overpowered by mustard the filling was lost. Salmon tasted bland and cucumber was overpowered with too much cream cheese leaving a consistency hard to swallow. On a redeeming factor the cakes were fabulous and better still the scones were warm, light and magical. On the whole we were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of desserts and the scones we chose not to complain however I would avoid the afternoon tea with the sandwiches like the plague. The apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and custard was raw in the center with chocolate ice cream and a glob of gelatinous bright yellow custard. The food is plenty and very good (especially the cakes at the top - in fairness there are only so many ways you can do the obligatory cucumber sandwich).
