We LOVE Cafe Yafa! Mo and his staff are so friendly, and he makes an effort remember your name when you come in (which is NOT easy). We came here because I am always on the lookout for non Greek Mediterranean food, I feel like that's not a thing that's easy to find in Massachusetts yet. This place did not disappoint. We have tried half the menu at this point and love almost everything we have tried. I love the hummus (but I'm a little bit of a hummus snob - is that a thing?!). We pair it with like everything! They have that amazing thick garlic sauce that is so hard to find but I love so much - a little goes a long way. We have tried a few breakfast sandwiches and love the avocado egg and tomato one, which we get regularly. The new omelette's are so flavorful! I loved the mushroom one and my husband got the Bastrima one. We like the falafels, which they MAKE TO ORDER each time, so they are super fresh! We have tried a couple of salads so far and a few sandwiches (shawarma chicken and the chicken kebab ones are MMMMMM). My husbands favorite thing there is the Mixed Grill Plate. He has gotten it several times now. The meat is flavorful and (sorry people) moist... not dried out at all. And the Yafa Cheesy Fries... not sure how they make these and they don't get even soggy but they are so crispy!!! I could write for days but I'm sure you all get the point. I have lunch here or from here frequently. The food is delicious and authentic. I've had both salads and sandwiches and never had a bad meal. I don't even think that I can pick a favorite -- it's all that good! The service is both friendly and efficient. The dine-in area is clean, comfortable, and charming. Wonderful, wonderful shawarmas that taste unlike any other (had beef and lamb + chicken). Love that the wraps are toasted too. Had shawarmas many times in downtown Boston but the flavor of these is unique and yummy. Also, delicious blueberry bread and chocolate chip cookies. The cafe also has many muffins, desserts. I'm surprised this place gets such good reviews. I would say it's average at best. I got falafel, which was way over cooked, dry and crumbly. It looked like it was made from box mix rather than fresh. The pita is paper thin and tasted stale. The hummus was ok, but could've used more seasoning. The prices are pretty high as well, if you order online it's about 20% more expensive on top of the online ordering fee they charge. After seeing the glowing review in the Boston Globe I was expecting much better. read more

The salad was so tasteful that I don't have any word to describe, and then I had a muffin to go, but I couldn't resist taking a bite in my car and let me tell you... All the food is fresh and prepared for you after you order. I can't recommend Cafe Yafa highly enough. You can get a quick lunch or a full dinner with wonderful desserts, including knapfe, a traditional a delicious sweet cheese dessert with Pistachio topping. Food tastes ok but it is waaaaay overpriced!! $16.50 for chicken shawarma plate which has abt 1/3 cup of meat, plain rice and some hummus (which was bland).. $14 for falafel plate, which was again filled with rice, hummus and salad (onion,tomato and cucumber)! I decided to try and eat in for dinner which I did. It really is I guess more set up as take out despite the fact there are tables I ordered the chicken Schwama plate which I enjoyed. I ordered the food from the counter and they brought it to me. Now for my beef. They brought the food out to me in a plastic takeout container. The gave me a package of plastic forks and knives. No one asked me how I liked it. I did enjoy the dish the humus and the tiny tiny salad. So in the future will never come back to eat in but might might go for takeout. I am vaccinated read more

The hummus and other dips are well done, the place is always clean, service is pretty quick, and they have a large selection of coffee, along with kebabs and wraps using the same meats, which I've always observed to be tender and well seasoned/spiced. read more

My husband and I were craving falafels and Cafe Yafa did not disappoint! I had the Yafa chicken salad. The salad was one of the best things I have ever eaten. The dressing was homemade and delicious. Vegetables were crunchy and fresh. It was the perfect balanced salad! We also had the humus, Shawermah, and of course falafels. We will definitely be returning here. Four friends tried Cafe Yafa and had a Mediterranean experience. The fresh Hummus and Baba Ganush was a great starter with pita bread. We all ordered the Kabobs and they came with an overflowing platter with salad and more hummus. All vegetables were very fresh and tasty. We will definitely come back a little more adventurous and try different platters to share. Waiting for the full New Normal to enjoy table dining. Ordered takeout tonight from Cafe Yafa and we were so pleasantly surprised. The food is fantastic! We had chicken kebab, lamb kebab, felafel, baba and everything was so wonderfully spiced and cooked perfectly and portion sizes were ample for us. We especially enjoyed the spice blend on the kebabs, very flavorful and just a tiny bit of heat. So delicious!! After intending to try this place for a couple of months, we decided to do a takeout. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything was meticulously packed and all items were flavorful - salads were crunchy, falafel was crunchy, shawarma was juicy, and the dips were great. The surprise, free cookie was an icing on the cake. The dining area looked neat and clean; something that we would love to try when it's safe again.
