I was told by my good friend who lives in nearby Ripponden that the unit Café Thai opened in used to be the former Halifax building society which has lots of original features. They've certainly pulled out all the stops to refurbish the interior - it's certainly been done to a high standard.
I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to Thai cuisine, but I recognised a few familiar dishes alongside plenty of options I hadn't seen before. We first had the Mixed Starter which was a selection of five dishes (you can choose replacements of identical value if there are any you don't fancy). When it arrived it was well presented and all tasted great.
For my main course, I opted for Gang Massaman curry with sticky rice and it was a generous portion, again full of flavour and delicious.
The staff were attentive and friendly in what ended up being a busy Friday evening in the restaurant, but we got a table by the large windows so could watch the world go by as well. Definitely worth a visit. read more
