It boggled my mind that this could be served. The shreds of smoked salmon looked like leftovers, and was that an old slice of lemon that topped it? If those weren't enough, the bottom of the bread was seriously burnt. Almost comical how every element of the dish was poorly prepared. Yes, I should've returned this to the kitchen. But I was reminded of the misgivings in Kitchen Confidential. On a side note: there is rarely complimentary water in Europe and it was not the case here either contrary to earlier reviews.

So unlike other places that usually stack pancakes and then put the topping at the top, this each layer has the filling, so each layer of the salmon pancake has cream cheese and salmon.
