We got there a little early and had the chai and a date mamool while we were waiting. They ended up taking our food order a little early so it would be ready at 11am since they weren't very busy and I am pretty sure the front counter worker was enamored with our 2 year old daughter. This was our second time here (we went last year as well when my wife was at this same conference) so I was well overdue to review this place. The food here is fantastic which is why we repeated it - it has to be for us to do that at places we visit. Good or okay doesn't get a repeat from us. The dolmas are exactly what you want them to be and there is a perfect amount of salt on the arabic salad, the cabbage salad, and the pickled turnips. Speaking of which, the pickled turnips here are divine perfection. I would be hard-pressed to find better pickled turnips anywhere. The schwarma is quite solid - not as good as I recall from The Netherlands, but as good as any here in the U.S. The Middle Eastern vegan platter is quite a bargain and delicious to boot. The workers here are very kind and I have no knocks against this place at all. They even sell Dubai chocolate to go on a deal - Buy two original bars and get a Strawberry cream Matcha one for free.

It's a wonderfully unique space--part wine and spirits shop, part lively daytime dining room--with a steady flow of customers browsing bottles alongside a full bar and tables occupied by ladies who lunch and retirees enjoying a relaxed weekday afternoon. It is a surprisingly chic space for Champaign. The dining room was busy enough that there would have been a wait for a table, but we were perfectly happy at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and welcoming, even while clearly managing a high volume of guests in what felt like a short-staffed moment. Despite that, service remained warm and attentive. We shared the traditional fondue, which was generously portioned and stayed hot for an impressively long time thanks to their setup--ideal for lingering over conversation. We both enjoyed wine pairings, and I especially loved the Winter Warmer Knob Creek cider: cozy, well-balanced, and a standout choice, particularly for anyone who appreciates Knob Creek. Sun Singer has an excellent atmosphere--social, distinctive, and effortlessly inviting. I very much look forward to returning the next time we're back in the area.

I got the Italian beef with sweet & hot peppers with the gravy on the side (I don't like my sandwich falling apart on me) and french fries. My husband got the hot dogs, which came dressed with a dill pickle, tomatoes, and hot peppers, and a side of onion rings. We also splurged with the yummy-looking desserts (strawberry shortcake and lemon cake) in the cooler near the register. Everything was so good. The beef (which there was plenty of!) had so much flavor even without the gravy. The bun it was on was hearty enough to hold it. The hot dogs tasted good quality. The fries were good (not at all greasy), and the onion rings had such a good flavor, not overly breaded. The desserts were a perfect ending. The restaurant was very clean (including the bathrooms). There was someone cleaning something (including the walls) the entire time we were there. I wish we had one closer to where we live here in Ohio!

I ordered a big beef. And it had close to the same amount of beef a regular had on it. When I ordered the kid that was at the register seemed lost. How do you want your beef. To me there's three options. Dry, wet, or dipped. I said wet he said so dipped. No just a little extra wetness. So you want it on the side no. Just wet. So on the side. So I had to add my own gravy. Why do I have to make my sandwich. Cause if I did I would've put a lot more beef on it. Then they completely had the bathrooms closed for cleaning how's one supposed to wash their hands after eating.
