    Stuffed Pizza with Italian Sausage
    Sarah I.

We love a good stuffed pizza and only order one every couple of months. So we were so disappointed when we ordered this weekend and this is what we got. Clearly there was no care in crafting this pizza. The ratios of sauce, cheese, sausage and crust were all off. There was so much oil (from too much cheese?) that it was literally pooling on the cardboard. I don't think they even cut the pizza or if they did the excess of cheese glued it back together. I never thought I would say it but -there is such a thing as TOO MUCH CHEESE.

    Plates empty. Stomach full.

I walked in on a Friday evening with my friend, hungry and desperate. We entered and looked for the menu, which is a bit elevated, and a kind employee said, "you don't have to strain your neck. I have so many menu copies for you right here. Take as many as you need. In fact, you can rest your legs and sit while reading over the menu." Immediately we were struck with kindness and a smile. We took a seat, and were pleasantly surprised by the great deals on the menu. When we went to order our food, the employee was extremely kind and soft spoken. We sat back down and our food was ready in under 10 minutes. Our food was hot, perfectly cooked, and delicious. And not to mention, the food portions were large. The restaurant was extremely clean, everywhere we turned there was an employee working to ensure the utmost dining experience. In fact, an employee even turned the soda bottles in the fridge to face potential customers. My friend and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We will be dining here often, rest assured.

Staff was amazing!!! Guy at the cashier was really nice and energetic and didn't mind showing us the pizza sizes when we asked. Really good pizza too. The crust is delicious and reminds me of Chicago. There's always space for you and your friend groups to eat here Pizza was really big for a great price.

    Chunky Alfredo.

Was craving pasta so I ordered from them and put in an order for cheese ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo. They called about 5 minutes after I ordered to tell me they were out of cheese ravioli so I went with the meat one instead. Both entrees come with a breadstick and side salad. The side salad came with one slice of cucumber and 1 mini tomato. The meat ravioli was actually very good. However, the Alfredo was really grainy and tasted like unmelted cheese. If I didn't get it delivered I would have sent it back for sure. Upon finishing it I currently feel like a brick of crap is sitting in my stomach and I wish I finished the meal with a bite of ravioli rather than the Alfredo. Probably won't order again.

Double dough with half cheese, half pepperoni and sausage and boneless wings.

The pizza was good. Not fantastic. The crust was a bit soggy. Not sure I'll try again.

Ordered this for delivery and it was so good! The Italian beef is so much food for your buck and the thin crust pizza is wonderful!

I love pizza, I've eaten at every pizza place in Champaign, Chicago, the suburbs, you name it- as far as the C-U goes, this is best you can get.

The one caveat is that menu items off of the set menu can not just be ordered. For exampl, you cannot just order the arancini balls anymore-- which is one of my faves. This was a smidge disappointing if you don't want to order from the set menu portion. The regular menu has some options but not all that they used to. We were greeted at the door by the host who opened the door and welcomed us inside. He quickly seated us and we were then greeted by one of the waitstaff who offered us tap water or sparkling water while we waited for our server. We ordered sparkling water and our server came right over and greeted us and took care of us throughout our dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant, dark wood decor, lovely dining music playing. There were only a couple of other tables with customers so it was a pretty relaxed setting, but u can imagine this would be a lovely date night spot or group dinner venue. We enjoyed our dishes (pictures included) and unlike other Italian restaurants that often provide huge portions, these meals were appropriately portioned and filling. We also had the tiramisu for dessert; it was different than what we are accustomed too. Much more creamy and more like a pudding than a cake. Overall we enjoyed our experience and dinner!

Split an eggplant parm sandwich with my vegetarian daughter, and it was still too much for us to eat. Tasty and not greasy. We also tried the porchetta, also top notch and easily enough for two. Broccoli pasta salad (more broccoli than pasta) was a surprise sleeper hit. We really enjoyed the cannoli for dessert. Do note it's not super sweet. That's our preference, but could see how others might want more sugar. Good selection of gelato. The peanut gelato was more peanutty than peanut butter. Gelato has a great texture. I think I was pregnant and demolished two sandwiches: porketta and the other escapes me. If they offered a dessert, I probably got that too and enjoyed it. I recall great service and food. Located at Lincoln Square, the nonprofit I managed had a gig for another organization. Nothing to do with the food, but communicating an appropriate place for us to set up and perform was difficult. In the current location, my friend and I ordered pizzas for lunch. We probably could've shared one and split a salad. It was generous. We asked for take home boxes and were provided a box of foil. We wrapped up our pizza slices and the lady who took our order marched over and demanded the foil back. When she saw we had pizza she said she should've given us boxes. Maybe I'll give it a try again in the future and it won't be weird.

I liked that you could choose red vs green bell pepper, since I prefer red and it isn't usually an option. The toppings seemed quite fresh, the crust was soft like typical NY pizza. Even with these positives though, I felt it was expensive for what it was. I don't think a large, even with this number of toppings, should be over $30. Regardless, I probably will return! I have never liked their empanadas, but who cares; it is a pizza joint, and I am reviewing their pizza. Having tried an embarrassing number of their pizzas in the last ten years, the only skippable pizza is the curried chicken, which is bland and tastes more like "yellow" than anything related to India. Every single specialty pizza besides this one is worth the splurge. The spotted goat, of course, is transcendent, but do not sleep on their premium toppings like balsamic chicken. The BBQ meats pizza will cure your hangover, and some of the veggie options like the sweet balsamic modena veg are fantastic, especially considering how few decent veg places we have in town. I don't even want to consider how much money I have spent here. Is it top-tier NY/NJ quality, no, is it five stars as in "the best pizza I have ever had," not even close, and in NJ this would be just ok... but we are in CU. By CU standards, this is five-star pizza, and I would literally cry if they closed. Even by Chicago standards, this is good pizza. If Papa Del's sauce is too sweet for you, if Patricio's and Vinny's basic toppings get boring, and if Rosati's thin crust seems bland, you might appreciate the NY style tangy crust and creativity at Manolos. High quality ingredients and tasty pizza.
