Came to Cafe Peru today for a Sunday lunch with my family because I was specifically craving Peruvian food, and I'm so glad we found this local gem in Henderson! From the moment we walked in, I loved the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant. Even the TVs showing beautiful scenery added such a nice touch. But what stood out the most was the warm customer service and welcoming energy from Teresa. I'm already very familiar with Peruvian food, but she still took the time to recommend different dishes for us to try. We ordered the ceviche, lomo saltado, and of course, we had to try the chicken! The ceviche was incredibly fresh, perfectly citrusy, and I loved the potatoes and white corn that came with it. The portion was perfect. The lomo saltado was also delicious the meat was tender, juicy, well seasoned, and full of flavor. And THE CHICKEN! We originally ordered just a 1/4 chicken, but after one bite, we ended up ordering another half chicken to bring home. That says everything! We were super excited to try this place. But sadly we will not be coming back. The food was ok- maybe under seasoned/ over done (lomo saltado and chicken) in my opinion. The service was a bit cold.(we were the only ones in the restaurant at that time) and maybe being by st rose, the prices were a bit higher for the amount/quality of food. Maybe they were having an off day. I'm not sure. But hopefully others will have a better experience than we did. read more

They were dirty and had stains in them. Also, water was never refilled. Food is okay but not worth the wait and lack of service. Cute little restaurant, clean interior and a lot of space. The menu recently was condensed according to the owners as they needed to make it simple. Staff overall was friendly, but was slightly lacking when asked what was in the fried rice as I wasn't sure what Peruvian style meant. She just said it was similar to chinese style, which I wasnt sure was made intentionally as a comment simply because I was an Asian individual. That being said, the Lomo Soltado was good but a bit pricey in comparison. It came out rather on the saltier side but the umami flavours from the soy sauce base was present. The meat was cooked well, medium rare. The spring onions and red onions with tomatoes made it a nice touch but did end up oily and salty, which needed something more than the rice to cut it off. Came on a Friday night, and there was just one other group eating. We were quickly seated, and the service was fantastic all night long. This spot is super clean, the interior design is bright and inviting. They have a soothing white/light green decor that almost fits a hip/girly cafe haha. Lomo Saltado- a la carte order is $25. They currently have a "Special" where you can get 2 Lomo Saltados + 2 Beers for $40. That's honestly a great price! Plus, Lomo Saltado is usually my go-to at Peruvian restaurants, so that was just a huge plus. Their beer selection includes Dos Equis, Michelob Ultra, and Stella Artois. Their individual menu items are a little on the pricier side, but their current special was a fantastic deal. Lomo Saltado (9/10. Actually so good.) - Good portion size! I went in hungry, and went out very satisfied. Definitely enough food to satisfy when you're hungry - Flavor was SOOO GOOD!!!! This is honestly probably the best Lomo Saltado I've ever had. The sauce they used is thick, rich, packed with deep umami flavor - The beef they used was fantastic quality, cooked to a perfect medium, and super tender to the bite. Awesome quality of meat. - steak fries, green onion, red onion, tomatoes, and a side of white rice. All were top-notch and absolutely delicious. Additionally, Friday and Saturday night are both karaoke evenings! They open until midnight, have a computer and a mic available. Since we were the only group there that evening, we enjoyed singing a couple songs with a very supportive and encouraging staff. Overall, a fantastic and enjoyable evening! The cook brought out the dipping sauce half way thru our dinner, much tastier with the sauce! However, the service need improvement. Got there 15 mins before close which is usually a no for me, but I HAD to have this sandwich and I'm so glad we went still. The cashier was MIA so the chef helped us and was so friendly and helpful and not at all bothered that we were there right before they close. We tried a couple Peruvian beers while waiting for our to go order that were good. Also I knew our food was going to be amazing when I seen his chefs knife arm tattoo lol and it was. Came to Cafe Peru as I was checking out new Peruvian restaurants around Vegas/Henderson area and found gold! First thing I noticed was how clean and well decorated the restaurant is followed by the good music they play. It's a whole vibe!! I stopped in here for diner today. I love Peruvian food. You can always tell how good a Peruvian restaurant will be by their lomo Saltado. It's definitely the most popular Peruvian dish and absolutely delicious when made correctly. I had this dish growing up as a kid. My dad is Peruvian and it was his favorite. It became mine as well over the years. The Lomo Saltado here has to be one of the best I've ever had. And yes I have had it many times while I was in Peru. The sauce on the lomo is so delhere. My wife had the ceviche that was not too acidic and had very fresh fish. We ended with a very creamy flan.
