Lots of staff were on when i arrived which was about 8.40am. I ordered the scrambled eggs with rye toast. There was alot of eggs i could only manage to eat 3/4 of it. The toast was a bit charred but I like them crispy so this did not bother me. Coffee is good too. It is table service. Staff are attentive and friendly. THey also have an assortment of pastries, muffins etc on offer too if you're not feeling too hungry. Great first time visit. Looking forward to trying the dinner menu as i was a fan of their steak when they were in the Sheaf.

I chose deep fried Crumbed Mushrooms with a homemade Remoulade sauce for entree and the Hawaiian Chicken Parmigiana for mains. The Parmigiana itself was huge and was cooked to perfection. It was nicely panfried and not too oily as is the case in so many other restaurants and was topped with gypsy sauce, ham, pineapple and Parmesan Cheese grilled under the salamander. The mains comes with a very generous serving of healthy seasonal vegetables ie, beans, broccoli and carrots. I was so full I ended up taking half my serving home for another time. I also shared the seafood laksa and char kway teow which was to die for! This is my favourite Malaysian dish and Chinta Kechil did not disappoint. They have the option of brown or white bread and they put loads of coriander, carrots and chilies that are delicious but burn your mouth. The staff is super friendly and if you call ahead you can get the roll pretty quick. It does get busy around lunch time. I tried the chicken roll - yummy, the traditional vietnamese pork roll, also very tasty and the recovery roll - which is a bit "australianized" as it is a chicken breast with avocado. It's a very "subway" kind of sandwich, but they do add the coriander and chilis, making it better. Tried to get the shredded pork roll once but they ran out. Definitely like this place, would probably get it more if it wasn't so out of the way.

If you havent tried Portugese food- I would put it somewhere between Spanish and Italian with fragrant hints of the Middle East. Start off with the smoked mackerel pâté- this is one of those dishes that will linger in your memory. Is it too early to call this Bibo's signature dish? Follow with the killer beef tartare- morsels of tender raw beef in a light creamy sauce set off with savory raddish shavings, salty capers and the zing of pickled cucumber pieces. Dark potato crisps nestle around the tartare for you to make a little DIY canapé. Brilliant. Also go for the cured fish board, the crispy Brussel sprouts in buttermilk sauce and save room for dessert. The Portugese tarts are pure sorcery. Wash it all down with the Shiraz offered by the glass - smacking good.
