I've walked by this familiar restaurant on numerous occasions. Tonight was a very Schnitzel night!
The restaurant doesn't have the most elegant decor for Double Bay, but if you want to eat a hearty meal you won't be disappointed!
I chose deep fried Crumbed Mushrooms with a homemade Remoulade sauce for entree and the Hawaiian Chicken Parmigiana for mains.
The Parmigiana itself was huge and was cooked to perfection. It was nicely panfried and not too oily as is the case in so many other restaurants and was topped with gypsy sauce, ham, pineapple and Parmesan Cheese grilled under the salamander. The mains comes with a very generous serving of healthy seasonal vegetables ie, beans, broccoli and carrots.
I was so full I ended up taking half my serving home for another time.
Pity there wasn't room for dessert. I was looking forward to trying the fresh apple strudel with ice cream. Next time! read more
2 hours of meaningful conversations. Atmosphere 100% AWFUL. Everything I asked for but the food. We reserved seating for 14. No preparation. handled food without gloves. I CAN LITERALLY see them serve food TO OTHER PEOPLE THAT came InLATER THAN US. THE WAITRESS is LAUGHING. BANTER 10/10. Wtf. Should have brought a sleep bag and tent. oh my god I don't even have a plate read more

I've been to Schnitzel House a few times and it's been great every time. It used to be called Una's Cafe. This place hits the spot when you're craving some hearty, meaty fare. The authentic German and Austrian dishes are delicious, and the portions are generous. Try the Jager Schnitzel, the sauce is amazing. I also like the Sirloin Steak with mashed potato and veg. Definitely a local favourite. read more
Small, but nice place. As for a shcnitzel lover it was perfect for me. Me and our firends were served really quickly, not like in some places around. Thank you! read more
