I want to move to Edgerton just so I can be a regular at Cafe on Main! Food, service and homey vibe is spot on! From the genuine greeting to the heart felt thank you, Cafe on Main will leave your both your tummy and soul full! The Cream of Potato Soup and Grilled Chicken Salad Sandwich are show stealers for sure! The sandwich was grilled perfectly with just the right amount of crunch but didn't cut the roof of my mouth!! The sandwich is piled high with the most delicious cranberry chicken salad I've ever had! The soup was heavenly! It's not overloaded with ingredients like most, no bacon to take away the potato flavor and no overpowering seasonings. Just good old fashioned cream of potato soup with soft new potato chunks for texture! Hubby got the breakfast and could have eaten a dozen of the sausage patties! Breakfast special (pecan pancakes) were delicious and huge but... one of the three of us had to wait for her pecan pancake to be delivered ... the other two of us were half finished with our breakfast... no real apology from waitresses. The orange juice which was described as fresh squeezed was not even drinkable... it tasted like orange juice from a bottle that was on the verge of going bad. We did not drink it and when I mentioned this to the waitress she just shrugged it off and walked away. I have worked as a waitress many years and if a customer ever complained about anything the first thing I did was apologize, then offer something else or remove from bill... not the best customer service, I'm sorry to say. read more

I tried the chicken dumpling soup. It was good, but I had to remind the waitress to bring it before my meal and it came out lukewarm. It was not busy; I came just before 2pm on a Saturday. I also tried the handbreaded chicken tenders per the recommendation of the server. I don't often eat fried food, but the picture from another yelper made them look good. They were good and came out really hot. Made me think of Chester's Chicken meets Long John Silvers. You get one sauce and it's $0.59 for each additional 2oz sauce. Second, the menu is impressive. It's more than just your average diner menu. The food is elevated a bit but doesn't have an elevated price tag. I was really surprised by the options and definitely want to go back to try more. They offer all the classics, but just with a bit of polishing or extra sparkle, if you will. Third, the service was great. When we were there it was a very busy Saturday morning. The place was packed! Doesn't look like much but Cafe on Main provides an extensive menu! It is full of breakfast options from sweet to savory: crepes, pancakes, French toast, omelets, and more! Not to mention, a variety of lunch choices too! I got the Cali omelet and it didn't disappoint. It was full of vegetables and the hash browns on the side were delicious. I'm all about vegetables! First impressions when walking in were, it was a very clean and nice restaurant, loved the farmhouse decor. We were seated right away, our waitress was very nice. I ordered the meat lovers skillet with the white toast and for .35 cents extra their house jam (strawberry rhubarb); and my wife ordered the the half order of biscuits and gravy with the hash browns and onions mixed in. I've eaten here twice, both times for breakfast, once as a couple and once with a kid in tow. Both times I had the same wonderful Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Service has always been great, the waitress has never been hovering nor MIA when needed. Friendly, helpful, didn't ignore my kid, nor googoogagaed on him. Wait staff have a staging area that allows them to see diners without having to constantly walk the floor. Service is just what you need, without that awkward, did you really need to come back a third time to check on us. The food, oh the food, and oh yes the food. I may never order anything besides the chicken fried steak, it is firmly in the 4.5 stars, the eggs are executed with great precision, I'm unlikely to order them scrambled but am working my way through the rest. The biscuits are good, while they fall short of the some of the stand out Southern biscuits I've enjoyed, they are a good gravy covered biscuits. The gravy covering the biscuits and steak is great, personal preference I find it a tad too sweet, but still find it delicious. Now the real star of this show, the hash browns. Ever since the historic Meca of Dallas closed, I've been in search of hash browns that are crispy on the top and bottom, yet not dry, while seasoned and tasty all around. These are delicious, wonderful in texture and taste. My biggest complaint about the dish is that it doesn't reheat well, but man is it good, even reheated. My dinning companions have had the skillet and french toast, all were very tasty as well. TLDR: Amazing hash browns, great Chicken Fried Steak, everything is is great too, fabulous service, great prices. read more

I was a little worried when the renovation of Ray's started. I live in edgerton now and was really hoping I didn't get a subpar breakfast joint. Well after 4 or five times going here I've been very pleased with the results! Normally I'm an omelette guy and usually when I go here that what I'll get(they have an amazing Athens and Mexican omelette) but the last time I went here I got the 2x4 which was 2 eggs 2 bacon slices 2 sausage links and 2 French toast slices. Delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive. The decor is rustic and warm. And the food is reasonably priced and amazing. The GF and I come here whenever we can. I have yet to try their lunch but I'm sure its as good of quality as their breakfast. Definitely worth a stop. read more
