    Chicken quesadilla
    Kimberly T.

This was my first visit during C&Y festival. I was seated and served fairly quickly despite such a busy day. Mitchell was my Server. He checked in my table as he passed. The food was good, but I must say that the chicken quesadilla filling was skimpy. The margarita was good too. There was music everywhere with the festival happening so it felt lively. Once I finished my meal, I was out. I would recommend this place to others.

Margarita Monday-- the drinks were strong and we enjoyed them on the patio looking out at the street. The ambiance is great for happy hour! The bartender was lovely. I would not personally order food from here because the times I have it was not memorable and it had a smoky flavor to the rice and beans that I would not describe as authentic.

I had a wonderful time sitting on the patio enjoying great weather, great company, and great food! The vibe was really chill and laid back. The staff was super friendly and helpful and made sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. For starters, I had the Queso dip with chicken added. It was so good and creamy and the chicken was seasoned well. It was a nice size helping. Enough to even share (well depends on how much you love cheese, lol). I then had the Build Your Own Quesadilla! Whew, It was sooooo good! I had the shrimp kind with sautéed veggies and pepper jack cheese...FIRE! I would say definitely try this menu item. It taste as good as it looks! I can't wait to go back and try their drinks. I saw many of them coming out and felt like I was missing out, lol! So, um yeah..I will be visiting soon!

I'm in my 20+ year coming to Cafe Ole! Vernon & his staff never disappoint! With the weather becoming cooler you will find me on the patio enjoying a delicious meal & libation! The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Balls & Jalapeño Fire Poppers are my favorites. The hubby loves the Breakfast Burrito for Sunday Brunch! Our Frenchie, Truffles, still enjoys her visit to the patio for ice water & love pats. Thank you Cafe Ole!

For the Sunday Brunch, I had the BEST cinnamon French Toast EVER! And Delicious frozen Sangria! Dave, the Soloist, was excellent singing: Billy Joel, Judy Garland, Roger Miller & late Greats! Perfect day on the patio served by Liz & managed by Vernon! Have been coming here for years & they feel like family!

We decided to have brunch here today. We arrived at 11am, quickly secured parking, and our party of six was promptly seated. I started with a mimosa, which is only $3 during brunch hour. For starters, we chose the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp. They were delicious and larger than we expected. I chose the blueberry pancakes (which are great for sharing) along with a side of bacon and potatoes. Our food was quickly prepared, and everyone enjoyed their order. We sat there for a while chatting and noticed the band arrived a little later. They sang covers of popular songs, which was great. Since it was fairly pleasant day we decided to visit the shops in the area.

When I get together with one of my friends, this is literally the spot that we always choose. It's a pretty cool and chill atmosphere with good drinks. I've never ordered anything that wasn't good! My visit this week was laid back and not many people were there at all which was even better. I ordered queso for the table and a top shelf margarita. It was Tuesday so the top shelf margarita was discounted!!! Whoop whoop! My friend did order the firesticks as an appetizer. They looked good, but when we took a bite, they were still cold and hard in some places. Unfortunately, this was their last order of these for the day, so we had to d without. Super disappointed My coastal nachos were bomb and I ate all of them! I'm excited to try something new for my next visit

Cafe Ole! Discovered this gem in Cooper Young after we moved here last year. Finally started going out post our vaccine shots and this was a perfect little place in the heart of the square. Food: We have tried 'pina colada' shrimp tacos, ghost pepper quesadila, and pineapple redfish. Ghost pepper quesadila is on point with a great balance of spice kick (kick in the butt that you'd remember) and flavors from pico and salsa. I wasn't impressed with shrimp tacos though, shrimp were tough and didn't taste very fresh. Overall the pineapple salsa wasn't too flavorful either. Grilled redfish had descent taste but it again didn't wow me in any way. It came with Mexican rice which was well seasoned and flavorful. Drinks: We went there on Margarita Mondays and they are totally worth it- half priced house strawberry margaritas are pretty delicious. Will come back for outdoor patio atmosphere with palm trees and blue lights.

The place had a really cool atmosphere. The servers are a little territorial because when we decided to move to a patio table our server seemed disappointed that he wouldn't get the customers. He asked the manager to keep us so I guess he was satisfied. When we ordered the server told us they aren't allowed to add items, only take them out. He hesitated when I asked to take meat out my burrito though...go figure! The margarita bong was kind of weak so just go for a regular drink. My friend had the nachos. She said they were just ok. Pricing was reasonable. A good stop for food maybe not drinks. 18% gratuity is added to a party of 2 or more which is weird because It's typically like 6.

    Brisket Benny

Live music was great. Service was great and kind too! The food was pitiful. Lacked flavor and depth of flavor. I had a tiny taste of everything on everyone's plate after I had tasted mine. I had the Benny. Let's discuss that. Cinnamon sugar dusted biscuit topped with a well done egg and shredded brisket and maybe two full cups of chucks salsa (think pace picante sauce) served with home fries covered in cheese dip. The brisket was dry and flavorless, the egg was over done, and the salsa was there. To cover the fact that it had no flavor. The only decent bite I had was off of the bottom of the biscuit that was cinnamon sugar. Although the biscuit was okay, it wasn't the right vehicle for this dish. My kid postlude this off bc he's a bottomless pit but he also complained and dumped a ton of hot sauce on top of it. The chicken from the chicken and waffles was just not Memphis at its best honestly. I'm not sure what waffle recipe they are using but I'd say back down on the baking powder just a smidge, up the oil, add an extra egg and possible a splash of vanilla and cook longer. Basically bland and wet waffles. As far as bathrooms, they were filthy and parking took about twenty minutes of circling to get a spot from someone who was leaving. This is spot one that you go to get toasty so you can't taste the food. I know the other tables had plenty of mimosas going around so that might be the case. ***Again I'll repeat that the service was stunning. And having live music at brunch was so nice.

I always enjoy myself when I visit Cafe Ole. Food service and ambiance is always consistent. I'm a stickler for presentation and cleanliness which CO meets every time. My favorites are their bacon wrap shrimp, pizza, chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Their margaritas, hurricane and mimosa are bomb. Im a happy custome.

I'll start with the positive, food was pretty good and we were seated quickly. The waitress was nice enough, but she did not introduce herself. It took about 10 minutes to receive waters and we were never provided or offered chips and salsa. The establishment was not busy, however, it took about 20 minutes for us to receive our drink and food orders. The waitress did not check on our table to see if we needed anything, we literally had to flag her down to ask about our food orders. It took about 10 minutes for her to bring our checks and another 10 minutes later she still had not returned to accept payment. My entire party walked inside to the bar and requested to make our payments. At this time, someone went to find our waitress who then cashed us out. Apparently others were also tired of waiting for her to return, as another gentleman also came inside from the patio to pay as we were wrapping up. There were multiple staff people milling about, but it appeared that the one waitress was taking care of the 7-8 occupied table on the patio. This experience was definitely disappointing.

I order a fajita for 2 to go. How can you mess up fajitas? I asked my self. This is how. Half a meal for 45 dollars.

Half a meal for 45 dollars. Don't ever go here. There so much better places near by with great drink and better food

The food was excellent and we had a great server (Maggie) who helped us navigate the menu and the array of complimentary sauces. We ordered chips and dip (homemade) and this is not the standard bagged chips with salsa bottle. Crisp and substantial chips with fresh, flavorful, slightly spicy salsa. Really good! Maggie recommended the Birria Burrito with consume for my husband. Wow!!! Loaded with tender and flavorful shredded beef, whole beans, rice, and cheese in a grilled tortillia wrapper with a rich and hearty consume. He has a healthy appetite and still took some home. I got 2 alpastor tacos, which were excellent. Tender and flavorful pork with just enough pineapple. I alsi had a grilled chicken taco that was good, but not as luscious as the pastor. We LOVED the sauces. Yes, you got some mighty heat with a few of these, but they never sacrificed flavor for the sake of heat. Great pickled onion and habenaros, fresh crisp radish and cucumber, smokey, spicy dips. What is not to love!! Churos for desert, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Clean, well lit reasurant. Casual. Torta Villa Carbon (4/5; marinated grilled chicken topped with grilled onions, grilled pineapple, melted cheese, jalapeños, and avocado): This was huge. I ended up saving half for lunch the next day. The combination of sweet and savory flavors worked really well together. 2. Campechano Burrito (4/5; steak strips and chorizo with rice, beans, lettuce, onion, tomato, and jalapeño): Steak and chorizo are always a winning combination, and this burrito did not disappoint. 3. Chirucas Chimichanga (4/5; two medium chimichangas stuffed with rice, beans, cheese dip, and your choice of meat, served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream): I chose the grilled marinated pork (al pastor), which was flavorful and satisfying. The server mentioned that the chicken version is their favorite. The service was decent overall, though it could be slow at times. I noticed a few tables waiting a while before servers came to take orders or refill drinks, and my drink was empty for a bit before getting a refill. Dinner service can get very busy, as every table was once full in one of my visits. Would I come back? Absolutely.
