My wife and I had so looked forward to dining here again this evening, but right from the top our young lady server failed us on all counts. She failed to mention that it was happy hour and what the food and beverage specials were. We overheard the male waiter telling another table after we had already ordered. We've come here for years, but this evening realized they have changed their menu and prices too. I've always ordered the Blue Corn Stacked Enchiladas with chicken and much to my surprise they came out with no chicken. $13 for beans cheese and rice!! Way too salty to the point I could not eat them. My wife usually orders fish tacos and now those are not available and the shrimp tacos she got were so spicy (not alerted by menu) that she had difficulty eating them. So, in short, NO service from our waitress and sorry food. Adios Cafe Ole'. We won't be back. Looks like you are on the post-Covid restaurant decline. One of our all time favorites for outdoor dining, on the patio. Great ambiance. The service is always fast and friendly. Tasty house-made salsa and chips. The menu has expanded over the years and my personal favorite is their stacked blue corn chicken enchiladas. The house queso is also a traditional go-to favorite with a hint of cream cheese. Everything is fresh, well prepared and delicious and not the typical Tex-mex fare. The drinks are fairly priced. Sometimes a bit of a wait for a table but they are happy to serve drinks to anxious waiting guests. Really no complaints at all. read more

I really wanted to like the food, but it was very bland and under seasoned. It is as if someone waved an unopened jar of salsa in the direction of my chile relleno and declared it TexMex by association. Service was polite, but very, very slow. I got zero refills on beverages, despite being there for over an hour and a half with two other guests. My guest got one of their breakfast platters. It was ok, but nothing particularly special. The potatoes were burnt and needed less dill and more salt. (There was so much dill they looked even more burnt than they actually were.) Portions were okay size for price. Restaurant was clean. Since moving to Tulsa nine months ago and frequent diners at various restaurants, this qualifies as the poorest food we have experienced. Advertised as " Colorado green chili enchilada" a very disappointing effort. Very little meat, placed on a plate and put in the oven until it dried out and stuck to the plate. Place was hopping at 7pm Sunday evening. Sat "outside" which was kept warm on this spring evening by plastic sides. Enjoyed their "world famous " margarita ", the 16 oz, $8.95 was $1 more than 12 oz, so I went big. Upon the recommendations of a person I met, i started with a small cream cheese queso $3.75. It did not have much flavor, even when i added salsa to it. The chips taste like they came from a bag, not house made. I described the dish I was seeking, a cheesy burrito to Justin, he recommended the enchiladas de pierce, I changed to have a flour tortilla. The pork & chorizo enchilda with chili Colorado sauce, black beans and rice were really good, exactly what I was looking for. The red salsa they serve with the chips is mild so I asked for the Spicier salsa. It was HOT! Just a small amount added to the red salsa was enough to give it kick. I was surprised when they charged $1 extra for the spicy salsa, I'm accustomed to both hot salsa being considered a complimentary condiment at a Mexican restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out how great cafe ole was today. My previous favorite Mexican restaurant was closed and we just kept driving around and ended up here. Fantastic And before I forget, on Tuesdays between 4 and 9 they have a $2,00 menu that really looked good and a great opportunity to try several things. Even the Tecate was $2. The blue corn stacked enchiladas were delicious and I had the street tacos that came with a picante sauce that was killer. Free chips and salsa was a great touch. The lunch came with a side and I had the tortilla soup. I could have done a gallon of that soup. Now my new favorite Mexican restaurant and I really look forward to returning. Cafe Ole has a really great patio for Sunday brunch! I have enjoyed their sangria and margaritas! I usually get the breakfast burrito but breakfast tacos are also a great choice! From now on I will always ask for Maria! She is a hoot and a half! We wanted a cornarita. It's not on the menu but she went a head and created it for us! Cafe Ole is small, casual mexican restaurant located in midtown. I have visited this place twice. While I have enjoyed their food and atmosphere I have to acknowledge that service is not great. During out second visit here our waiter took forever to refill drinks, get the check and even brin silverware (Service during our first visit was outstanding). Now, when it comes to food this is a good choice if you are craving something savory, delicious and fresh. Their house salsa (served complimentary with chips) is delicious and always fresh. I have tried the street tacos and their grilled salmon. Both dishes have exceeded my expectations. They also have a good selection of tequila and margaritas. read more

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa! Every time I've come here has been with a group of 5 or more (usually it's more than 8 of us) and they are always so accommodating of our large groups! This is a go-to for my group of friends from college whenever we're all in town, primarily because of the drinks and the queso. I truly don't think I've ever had a negative experience here. One time, a group of 12 of us came for dinner during the winter. It was VERY cold, but we decided to sit out front while we waited for the rest of our group and our table. We got drinks and queso while we waited. Maybe I'm making this up but I'm pretty sure they brought us blankets. Eventually, our whole group had arrived and our table was ready, but we ended up enjoying each other's company (and the drinks and queso) so much that we just stayed outside despite the cold. They were, as always, accommodating of the change! Even in the cold, I loved the experience!!! Cafe ole is adorable. I love that it's tucked on a side road on Brookside. For the longest, I didn't know it was even there. I've never really had a negative experience there. Their food has always been good. It's really fresh and well put together but nothing outstanding. Their lunch menu is probably my favorite part of their menu as they have quick entrees for $6, $7, and $8 which is pretty adorable for lunch. I recommend the Mexican pizza for lunch. Also, if you order the Ole queso, be aware that it's melted cream cheese with Rotel(?) so you could literally eat a whole block of cream cheese with tortilla chips if you're not careful. read more

I love Cafe Ole! It is tucked away on Brookside, and has a really amazing selection of New Mexican food! Everything I've had here I've really liked. They have a thick kind of queso that is very non-traditional, but delicious nonetheless. I would highly recommend trying it out. The margaritas are also good and reasonably priced. The restaurant space is pretty small, but it has a nice comfortable vibe to it. If you're able to get a spot on the patio, that's the place to be! They usually keep it open even in the cold months with plenty of heaters! One of my most favorite things about Cafe Ole is $2 Tuesdays. They have a menu of $2 items, and also have $2 Tecate beers. The steak fajita plate is just beautiful. The meat was obviously marinated in pure flavor goodness and everything tasted fresh. Something I've never seen before is the cheese came out melted on the plate: AMAZING concept and now I'll be a snob about it... cold shredded cheese for building fajitas is so 2014 now. Don't let the low starred reviews fool you. Those are more than 2 years old and the place is always busy. I'm new to Tulsa but have been to this place twice and love it! One of my favorite mexican restaurants in town. Be sure if you drink a margarita to get the top shelf one. It's worth the extra $$ and one of them does the trick! I also like the lite options versus the full and heavy meals too :) On the downfall, the patio is great but kind of small. The ambiance is fantastic. May I suggest sitting outside by the fireplace? Incredible. Their queso is phenomonal and Todd is right; the Stacked Blue Corn Enchiladas are as good as it gets. Also, I will share a little secret. They have THE BEST chocolate chip cookies I have EVER had. They normally sell out right after they make them, so get there early. I had heard that they changed ownership about 2 years ago and since my last review, but I still never got around to giving it another try. Today I did and I was glad that I did. 100 percent better.
