We booked our wedding dinner buffet with Cafe Natalie, and it did NOT disappoint. From the first email communication to the actual wedding day, they were always easy to communicate with, and delivered delicious food for our guests. Their pricing is reasonable, and some of our guests specifically came over to tell us how much they enjoyed the meal. My personal favorite from our menu was the lobster bisque. AMAZING. I spent the whole wedding weekend hyping it up to my bridesmaids (and yes, it met the hype). If you book a tasting, be sure to show up hungry! They serve full portions to make sure you know exactly what you are signing up for, and everything tastes great. Our server, Peter, was informative and friendly. He made sure all our questions were answered, but still gave us space to taste and discuss everything in our own time. Great tasting food and the highlight of our wedding. They handled all the wait staff and service, and were able to function very independently without any micromanaging required. Cafe Natalie was a preferred vendor at my wedding venue, and I got a chance to sample their food at a vendor showcase back in 2019 (it was amazing). I was a COVID bride, so my wedding ended up being postponed for over 2 years, and any worry I might have had about the menu changing, certain items being unavailable, or the food quality declining over that time frame was absolutely unwarranted. Cafe Natalie was professional, responsive, friendly and accommodating from the beginning of the process way back in 2019, to my wedding this past weekend in 2022. I received so many compliments not only on the food for my wedding, but also on the service that Cafe Natalie provided. We chose the braised short ribs, the Chilean sea bass, mushroom risotto, and asparagus. When we left the venue for the evening, they had packed us a to-go bag with two servings of each of our dinner items, utensils, napkins, plus a large piece each of our wedding cake and the grooms cake, which was awesome because we didn't even get to try the grooms cake during our wedding. Such a small detail, but it really meant a lot to us after a long day. If I had to plan my wedding over again, I would still choose Cafe Natalie as our caterer. Café Natalie catered our neighborhood Christmas party last weekend and it was a hit! We had 200 guests that enjoyed a delicious buffet, open bar and dessert table and I didn't have to do a thing but enjoy the party. The two buffet lines were never more than a very few people deep and the servers were so helpful, professional, and friendly. Their bar set up and table set up was absolutely beautiful with their china and crystal. I cannot (nor could anyone I talked with) find any fault with their service. This was my first time to host a party of this size and Chris and Diana were so patient and flexible with all my questions and needs. We are definitely going to use them again next year. read more

Cafe Natalie was one of the caterers on our list of approved vendors when we got married at the McGovern Centennial Gardens a year and a half ago. A lot of the caterers on the list were over our budget, but the menus and prices Cafe Natalie emailed us seemed very reasonable. Chris was the person I had been communicating with and was very professional and prompt in his responses. My mom and I made an appointment for a tasting and I chose the Vietnamese/Chinese family style menu. Chris sat us down at a very nicely set up table. We picked several items to taste beforehand, including appetizers and two vegetarian options for a few guests. The portions they served us were HUGE and were entree sized, not just two small tasting portions for my mom and I. They even allowed us to pack the leftovers home for my (now) husband to try. We were so impressed with the food, presentation, and price per person that we chose seven family style items for our wedding menu. Chris also worked with us on the open bar and accommodated all alcohol requests. The day of the wedding, Chris wasn't able to make it but his brother (or cousin), who I forgot the name, came in his place and made sure everything went as planned. Since we were walking around talking to guests most of the time, we ate here and there, but they also packed every single course for us to take home and enjoy later. We've been to a lot of weddings, and oftentimes the food is typical, bland wedding food and guests are still left hungry. The one thing we wanted was for all of our guests to thoroughly enjoy the food and drink. The food was delicious and everyone was SO stuffed. One of our dishes was a chilean sea bass that a friend said was the best sea bass he's ever had. So many of our friends and family still mentioned how great the food was months after the wedding was over. I would definitely recommend Cafe Natalie for any event! read more

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Café Natalie on several occasions. They have catered 2 birthday parties and several church functions that I have been in charge of. Their high level of customer service is unsurpassed. The owner, Chris, is extremely accommodating and genuinely cares about his client's satisfaction. His staff is prompt & professional at every turn. They are willing to go the extra mile, even doing things that wouldn't normally be considered their duty. After we booked our wedding at the HMNS-Sugar Land, we combed through their list of 5 accepted caterers. Since we were looking for Vietnamese family style, we narrowed down the list to Cafe Natalie and one other. We were only ever in contact with Chris, but he was always very detailed, prompt in his responses, eager to answer any and all our little questions, and ready to adjust things to fit our budget. In the end, we chose the other caterer purely based on cost (we were only allowed to purchase alcohol from the other caterer, thus getting food and drink from one place was the better option, financially and logistically). If we had a larger budget, we certainly would have selected Cafe Natalie, as their presentation looked much more elegant, enticing, and I loved how their forms and contracts were so detailed that I didn't have to second-guess any legal details. read more

I had Cafe Natalie cater my wedding at the Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land three weeks ago and they did such a wonderful job! I was worried that the museum would only let us choose from a short list of 5 vendors, but I am so happy I went with Cafe Natalie! They were also recommended by another event planner who has seen their work from other events. From the beginning, Chris was very prompt to respond to all my inquires and patiently answered all my questions. At the first consultation he was kind enough to guide me through the general routine but ALWAYS let me know that they are flexible to fit my needs. They were so accommodating from the food choices to even adding a crepes station at a very reasonable cost. There is also a special menu for kids and for those with special allergies. I also was given the option to bring cultural foods if I wanted, which was a consideration I really appreciated. (They are just not allowed to serve it, which is very standard across many caterers I've spoken to about this.) The food tasting was also wonderful. If you go, i would say go on an empty stomach and make sure to bring paper to make notes on what you like and any changes you want. They servings are full servings and they give you plenty of choices for your guests. It was one of the best parts of wedding planning. Before the wedding, I did have quite a few questions about the set up, layout, delivery and what I could bring. Chris and Alex were wonderful about answering every questions and never once made me feel like I was bring difficult. The day of the wedding, they set up everything so wonderfully and we had Alex as our catering manager. He was so attentive and I received so many compliments on how polite and attentive he was to all our guests!!! It was such a pleasant surprise and truly appreciated. They also packaged the left over wedding cake (to lessen waste) and gave me and my husband togo boxes that we definitely appreciated. Alex even served us our own plates with everything during the reception but we were too busy to really eat much. The food WAS DELICIOUS. Everyone loved the Prime Rib (I must say it was even better than the tasting). The crepes were fantastic, and even all the sides people enjoyed. Everyone left so full that my husband and I really enjoyed all the compliments. Pricing was the most reasonable for my budget of feeding 120 guests and it included tables, chairs, set up and clean up. They didn't charge me a cake cutting fee either which really helped out a lot. Overall, I am VERY happy with Cafe Natalie. I'm sorry to hear others may not have had the best experience with them, but I certainly did and I know others have. There is a reason (several, really) that a nice establishment as the Museum of Natural Science would have them on their caterer's list. I can't say enough positive things about Cafe Natalie. I have a lot of friends in the hospitality industry, but we planned our wedding at our ranch in Navasota. Through several of my contacts, I kept hearing "have your talked to Cafe Natalie?". On a wing and a prayer, I bypassed my "old faithfuls" to try someone new - and I am so glad I did! I sent an email, outlined my vision, selected items for our tasting - and EVERYTHING was outstanding. Diana was my contact and she did the most outstanding job, keeping everyone on task and making suggestions during our site visit and the few weeks before the wedding. They came, they set up, they served the most wonderful food and totally fulfilled the vision we had for our wedding and our guests' experience! We had 220 people and they left the house just as they found it - impeccable. We have a pretty sophisticated group of people and real foodies....we are still hearing about the quality of the food, the menu, the whole experience. Café Natalie is on The Gallery's (the venue that hosted my daughter's wedding) preferred vendor's list and I understand why. October 5, 2019 was the wedding date and the bar was superb. My daughter and son-in-law chose a beer, wine and Champagne, soft drinks and water bar. The service was impeccable; the water was cold and the soft drinks were wonderful (with the exception of one complaint from my hard to please sister who said her canned Coke was flat - and that can happen). Wow!!!!! Cafe Natalie provided the catering for a brunch at my home the morning after our daugther's wedding. We had 100 guests. The caterer was very good to work with while planning the event and very responsive at all times. On the morning of the brunch, the staff from Cafe Natalie arrived early and quietly and efficiently set everything up and were ready to go when guests arrived. They provided a wide variety of food items with the guest favorites being the French Toast shooters, salmon on cucumber, and chicken + biscuit. Plus, the Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's were fantastic. The staff did an excellent job throughout, working professionally and independently and left my home clean and without a trace. I scheduled my appointment with Cafe Natalie because when I first met their team- they mentioned they would work with "any" vendor. However, Chris was the rep I met with and he was completely rude. I was told that my appointment wasn't a tasting appointment "it was a sit down and go over appointment" he gave me a sheet of paper that asked me for payment instead of a food menu and what food preference along with a budget for my event. Clearly he wanted me to sign a contract before he even considered me for food tasting. Which I found absurd! Lastly, I explained that I wanted a buffet style service, since this was a kid party and kids tend to not RSVP, I was doing a formal sit down for all RSVP's (which I had already booked an awesome vendor for that) and a buffet for non-RSVP's and I was told that they do not work with any other food venders. Well, here's some food for thought: it would be nice to screen/interview all your appointments in detail so that no one is wasting their time or yours, not I mention you're in a very secluded location and the drive was pretty long for me. All of this could've been avoided had they been diligent and detailed in assisting me via telephone. read more

Attended a wedding that they catered, was not impressed. The beef on the the plate I was served was a fatty grisly mess - this was clearly an end cut that should have been tossed. The mashed potatoes had good flavor but they were so obviously instant that was another turn off. read more

We had a wedding reception for 140 at The Gallery. Everyone raved about the food and the service. We offered a buffet with short ribs and sea bass. The food was perfectly prepared and melted in your mouth! The arugula salad was very fresh! We could not be happier with this vendor! read more
