So a friend of ours and an ardent customer of theirs bought us a couple of to go meals. One was chicken the other veal. I can't speak to the chicken but I can for the veal. Anytime you have an Italian dish where the gravy looks like paste and tastes like paste and you like it then you'll love it theirs. Next, the veal didn't resemble or taste like any veal that I've had in a lot of years. I know my Italian food and what it should taste like taste like and this was ground zero. I tried to eat the spaghetti but the tomato paste was simply horrible. The veal followed layered with more paste under the cheese. And by the way, the Italian loaf was a foot of cotton. An hour after I gave up on my "meal" my mouth and stomach are reminding me that I need to ever avoid abusing myself with another Cafe Napoli meal. read more

I just wanted to put this knowledge out there. I visited Cafe Napoli, and there was a man in there asking about two toppings on a pizza, but only half of a pie for each topping. They charge 250 for half a topping, and 350 for a whole topping. He was asking for topping (two different types) but only half a pie each and they're trying to charge him $7 for 2 half toppings. They were adamant and argued with the man. we both told them that is not correct and we have never been charged like that. It's one topping if you get 2/2 anywhere I have ever been and I'm almost 80 and . I would never go in there again!! read more

A very satisfying lunch! The four of us enjoyed the lunch here recently. The deceiving pizza shop front opens into a full service restaurant as you step past the pizza ovens and displays. We had several salads, and an eggplant rollatini lunch plate. All were generously arranged, nicely plated and delicious! The prompt service and reasonable pricing was impressive. Café Napoli is located in a large strip mall in Manchester on route 70. The reviews are average to above average so I felt that I should try it anyway, being in the area coming home from musical event. The staff was excellent and very meticulous. We had stuffed mushrooms and a plain pizza. Prices are very reasonable. My only negative comment was the pizza dough could have had more salt, otherwise the food was excellent. read more

Normally I go to Charlie's, but I was at ShopRite so I figured I'd try this place, It will be the first and only time. I paid $41 for calamari chicken fingers and a sub. The calamari was so dry. It looked like a bag of cheap potato chips from a gas station. The chicken fingers were frozen, fake chicken and the sub look like one of those premade subs from ShopRite or Exxon. Not good at all I wonder what the pizza taste like, but I won't be going there to find out. read more

But, no joke, we had very good dinners and service at this restaurant on 12/24/17. First thing to note is that we brought a few bottles of Italian wine, so right off saved a lot (compared to restaurants serving alcohol). We started with appetizers of calamari and stuffed mushrooms; both delicious. Next, most chose soup, two had salad; all fine. Entrees, I had Pescatore: mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, and lobster tail over penne ($23.95). Scrumptious. Others had Shrimp Francese, Zuppa de clams, etc. Everyone was very happy. We did not bother with desserts or coffee as we had these later at home. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous and the preparations are very tasty. Eat here, diet home. read more

I went in to place a very large order for a pizza party this past Friday, which was going to take place on Saturday,I was standing at the counter for a few minutes, a man walks in that works at shop-rite and he was immediately waited on before me. I just like to say to say to the worker who did that: thanks for ignoring me and how disappointed I was and will never go back nor recommend Cafe Napoli to anyone EVER. We were the last table there at around 9:00 on a Friday night, and when one of our group asked when they close the owner said now! We hurried to finish up and left abruptly ending our evening. We are new in the area and this weekend we finally visited Cafe Napoli--I feel so sad to see the negative ratings about this business. We were greeted warmly, and the wait staff was super friendly and attentive. Appetizer we ordered was Mozz. in Carroza--delish and the gravy/sauce was so tasty. The warm bread with butter was served. Amazing--salad was served with the homemade dressing and my pasta faggoli-that came with the dinner. All was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered his veal which was cooked to perfection, tender, and fried on the outside, he raved at every bite. I ordered the penne carbonara--AMEN!!! that was amazing too. I realized the bogus bad reviews might be from a competitor since there was no way it was the same restaurant or experience we had on a Sat evening. I stopped in to get some lunch to go since I was in the area. I was craving Sicilian pizza so I decided to stop there as I was passing by. I walked in and checked out their slices they had. Not only did they look like they've been sitting there for hours, the size of the slices were embarrassing and they did not have Sicilian slices. No problem I'll just look at a menu and pick something else out- no menu we're anywhere to be found in the restaurant that I had to ask to see a menu. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and a pasta fagioli soup to go. At this point I was very upset still that they didn't have Sicilian but I decided to try a plain slice anyway despite how small the slice was. By far one of the worst slices of pizza I've ever had. No flavor whatsoever and the crust was tough. Definitely needed some salt all around and I don't add salt to anything! I went back inside when I was finished having my slice to see if the rest of my order was done. The pizza guy behind the counter called me over and gave me my bag and said I was all set. As I walked outside I realized that the bag was too light for a soup and salad so I checked it and there was no soup. I had to go back inside and wait for my soup now. I've been in the restaurant business for 12 years. How this place is still in business is beyond me. I will not be going back and it's a shame because a time like this we want to support local businesses but this place isn't worth my time or money. read more
