One of the smaller restaurant chains in northern Colorado and one of the best too. I've never been disappointed by their food and they even offer special discounts to the students at the local University. The white sauce is the absolute best as is the sweet pork. read more

I have reviewed the Cafe Mex in Fort Collins. I might even enjoy the Greeley location more. Quick, friendly and always good. If you want a large amount of food, abundant flavor (not traditional Mexican) and a nice atmosphere (for a college place), try Cafe Mex. We came here for the first time tonight.. my husband and I both ordered the steak nachos! I am from San Diego and know what real Mexican food is... If you want authentic Mexican food this is not your spot (Jerry's market would be your spot... Makes me feel like I'm in Tijuana again which is a good thing for authentic Mexican food). Anyways, If you want fresh tortillas and a huge burrito this is your spot. Reminds me of a Chipotle but 10 times better. Great white and green sauces and about 6 different meet items to choose from. This is my go-to spot for breakfast burritos ..... different meat choices depending on the day of the week. Crispy bacon is to die for and the chorizo ain't too shabby either. I appreciate the freshly made tortillas and the superb customer service in the mornings (not so keen on the inattentive kiddies working the swing shift ...) I have nothing to say but good things about this place. This place blows all other burrito places out of the water! I love the flavor of the meats and the salsas have a very fresh taste to them and you can definitely tell they're made on a daily basis. I get the shredded beef burrito with the habenero sauce (not hot but excellent flavor) and their spicy sauce (not sure what it's called) for the perfect combination of hot flavorful deliciousness. The freshest salad and the use Romain lettuce so it's not just useless iceberg lettuce the serving size is large enough and the creamy habanero sauce is awesome. You should also try the chicken tortilla soups with real chunks if avocado from the fresh made guacamole. The tortillas are fresh made as you are in line. This place puts Qdoba and chipotle to shame. If you are allergic to anything, avoid certain meats or are vegetarian, do NOT eat here. They cross contaminate everything, it's disgusting... The last time I went in there were a bunch of little bits of chicken that had fallen into the rice that they put in every burrito. I do not eat chicken at all and told the girl working that there was chicken in the rice she had just put in my burrito, and that I could not eat it. Instead of getting a new thing of rice, she took another scoop out of the contaminated rice ( I could see pieces of chicken in it), and put it in a new tortilla. I said there is still chicken in it, and I can't eat it. She proceeded to tell me that there was no chicken in it, even though I SAW it go into my burrito and pointed another piece out to her that I could SEE sitting there in my burrito. I guess she thought I was an idiot or something? I finally just said never mind and walked out. read more

The Mexicali Ensalada was the worst salad I ever had. The kids working behind the counter were rude, and did little to interact with me as a customer. The first girl that started off my order was nice but by the time I got to the register the girl blamed me when she entered my order wrong. I was the one to say "have a nice day" otherwise I would have just been handed my meal. I won't be back. I don't know what's wrong with this generation. It's good, but not nearly as good as everyone in Greeley makes it out to be. My favorite of their offerings is their creamy habanero sauce, otherwise it'd be just another burrito place. The portions are big, almost TOO big, and a burrito always comes with a smattering of toppings included so that's a plus. However, whenever I've had to ask for a change in order (specifically tomatoes, because I'm allergic) I've often been met with some resistance or had the person making my order be clearly annoyed by the request. They have student discounts, which are helpful because their prices aren't exactly student friendly. The restaurant usually has a very long line, the staff isn't the friendliest because they're very busy, and the bussing could be done better because I've had to clean a table off myself a time or two. For the most part, it's mediocre and your money could probably be better spent elsewhere. I don't get the hype. read more

We LOVE this place, it's the go-to for when you are ravenously hungry for good food but need it in a timely manner. Everyone is nice, but the manager takes the cake. Love this place and come obut was really disappointed tonight. I went in close to closing. I left because they weren't going to make any more rice and beans. I wasn't the only turned away. I saw at least 3 other car loads of people in the couple of minutes it took me to walk in and back to my car. It's generally not good to turn away customers because you are too lazy to do your job.
