Shared the queso (so good), and got the Mr. Blonde (salmon) and Brushfire (spicy mango chicken) tacos, both were so good. My friend got the Democrat, which she loved! They were very filling, fresh, and delicious. It's counter serve, you get a buzzer, and then they bring food over to your table! Super flavorful, fun menu, and just a great overall spot. As a Houston native, I constantly find myself missing a good queso and tex-mex tacos. Torchys always hits the spot! I stopped by when I was in town and the tacos and queso were so good. There was no line on a Sunday around 630pm, so service was quick. I like that you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. They have a nice patio at this location, which we enjoyed. I always get the democrat & this time I decided to get the seasonal - mr blonde. They were both soooo good as was the queso, as usual. I love torchys but here recently they've skimped on portions. Barely any meat in my tacos and stale cookies. That really sucks considering a cookie and 3 tacos and a drink is over $30 and when they come out the cookie is stale and the tacos have 3 dots of meat. Way too much money for that kind of service. I also have had this happen many times now. Everyone deserves grace and multiple chances but after so many times spending a ridiculous amount of money for barely anything/stale items is getting upsetting. read more

Wow. Literally such good tacos. Love how they're so creative with the different tacos (and the fun names). Both the tipsy chick and brushfire were delicious and HUGE. They had a ton of protein so for $5 a taco, it's worth it. I wish the cheese on the tacos was melted or just not cold but it didn't ruin the taste. The queso here is fire, maybe some of the best I've had so do not skip out on the chips and queso. This place was so busy on an early weekend evening but they have plenty of tables. Run of the mill Tex Mex chain for tacos. Stopped by on a Monday evening around 7:30pm with no line. Ordered, and sat outside with our meal buzzer. Tables outside had taco remnants, but nothing a napkin couldn't fix. Queso came out first - highly recommend this. Between two people, it was a hefty opponent, but we killed the chips and had a few remaining scoops of queso. Tacos were quite average, and seasoned below average. There was a smoky orange sauce that really helped flesh out some flavors. Fried Avocado was very tasty, and the Trashy Trailer Park was alright, both on the low-sodium, blander side. Along with the queso, the tacos were very filling. Overall, a chain that serves standard Tex Mex fare that is consistent and predictable. read more

I like Torchy's. This was a quick dinner before a concert. I got the Grande Burrito with chicken. It includes refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. Delicious. This location is on the edge of the Foothills Mall in Fort Collins so parking is a non-issue. It was dinner rush, but there is plenty of seating. The food came out fairly fast. Came in to Torchy's on a Friday night in the hopes of something quick on our way to a Christmas event. I had heard good things about Torchy's so we decided to give them a try. When we came in they told us the front registers were only able to accept cash, which was fine with us. I guess that was why they weren't as busy as usual. The cashier (Alondra) that helped us order was extremely friendly and helpful in her suggestions. They have a decent sized menu with a ton of options! The restaurant itself was large with a ton of seating. It was very casual and well lit. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and smiling. Overall a great experience. For the food... amazing! The damn good tots were just that - damn good! So much flavor, crispy even with the queso. The green chile queso was flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. For tacos, I chose the democrat and they were also just fantastic! They were cooked perfectly with amazing complimentary flavors. First visit and definitely not the last. So much to like here. I'm a big fan of breakfast burritos and was delighted to see that they're served all day. So many tacos to choose from; my wife really enjoyed the two she had. 2 negated her hunger but didn't leave her stuffed. Some delicious fruit drinks that have the perfect level of sweetness. Great interior design. Magic devices that, instead of signalling that it's time to pick up your order, guide the delivering server to your table. Very cool! Why 4 stars instead of 5? Asking for a tip before service creates a bit of a hostage situation instead of allowing a reward for good service - which we often do quite generously. As I ate my burrito, I went through the egg layer, then the potato layer, then the refried beans layer, then the cheese layer. Basically, they didn't wrap it right. (It was still good though.) Finally, I always look to see if the booth seats are being well maintained; some here were absolutely shredded. Overall, a very impressive restaurant that is unique. Ok I'm from California and literally have not found a homemade tortilla as good as my grandmas since she passed away. It sets every other Mexican food place apart. I think once you find what appeals to your palate, you'll become a fan.. if not an addict. You order at the counter & are handed a buzzer/location device for the kitchen to track you down. My go-to is the Trailer Park taco. I've had the Baja fish, but it wasn't my favorite. The hubby enjoys the breakfast burrito & anything with the pork. One taco does it for me.. these are not street taco size.. although someone with a hefty appetite could likely smash 2-3 of these. The green chili queso & chips is a nice shareable option with a compadre. The adult drinks are very tempting, but for another visit at another time. The ambiance is hipster, but there's some comfy spaces to hide away & a large outdoor patio area (sorry, no furry companions allowed). It's a chain, but I enjoyed it. A friend recommended the Matador Taco. On the "secret" menu, that isn't really secret. Excellent! And I had a Green Chili Taco. My mouth is on fire from tomatillo salsa! My friends said they are big eaters. So they each ordered three tacos. Couldn't finish. I could hardly finish two. Especially the Matador which is as big as two tacos. Great experience. We came in and tried an early lunch on a Saturday. Place looks good, kinda funky open and welcoming, we ordered shrimp taco, breakfast taco and quesadillas for the kids. I would expect a place like this to have a salsa bar but they don't. The food came and overall tasted pretty good, little salsa cups on each plate, but everything is a bit pricey. Always a great spot for breakfast. One taco breakfast taco can easily be split into two because they come with double corn tortillas and overflowing with toppings. Love that they serve all the tacos all day long so I ca order my fav Fried Avocado taco anytime. I really enjoy the guac and chips too and always splurge on a personal 1/2 order even when I really don't need it and will be stuffed with tacos anyhow. This was an awesome place. Slow style fast food, great drinks. We both got two tacos(Brushfire, Pork taco, Trailer Park was worth a look), wasn't sure how big they were. We also got the chips and green chile queso. If I went back, I'd probably get one taco if I was getting chips too. We had Palomas and they were delicious. We wanted to stay for more, but couldn't. Torchys updated their menu in store, several of the tacos are gone and the prices went up. I forgot to get a picture of the food menu, but check their website rather than the pics on here. They have you scan a QR code when you walk in to do the contact tracing. This was easy to miss, I didn't realize until I was about to pass two folks who were working on it as I thought they were just contemplating their order. Once I saw what they were doing the steps were easy to get done. Sadly I didn't see a wifi password so I had to use my limited data. The employee was very friendly as I tried to reconfigure my and my partners order. I came in to order to-go and ordered the food first then my drink at the bar. This was a little confusing and less convenient but it worked out fine. We got a slew of tacos, a burrito, and the green chili queso. The queso came with a big bag of chips. I loved the queso but my partner didn't like the flavor. The tacos were great, my favorite was the fried avocado and his was the Baja shrimp. We both didn't care for the burrito much as the beef was a bit tough. Their salsas are flavorful, but even the Diablo didn't come off as spicy to me. The avocado salsa was good, but less spicy than the el polo loco one despite being ranked at 2nd most spicy. Overall, this is a fun spot to grab a drink and a unique taco but maybe not expect to fill up as it's expensive. If they added a plate option with two tacos and a side I can see it working better for lunch/dinner. read more
