I had some questions getting started and the owner Juan was very accommodating. But the real kicker was when my husband and I ate our first meals. The Mongolian beef and spaghetti with meatballs. They were.... absolutely delicious. My husband was so impressed and ate every single bite. He brought the steak to lunch the next day - delicious. For dinner we ate the steak tacos - again absolutely delicious. I have had so many meal delivery services in Chicago and this was absolutely the best we have had. It is so well seasoned and so fresh even after being cooked in the microwave. I also really love how much the owner clearly cares about his business. Always a good sign to me. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a convenient, but healthy way to have some delicious options. I will be a customer for a very long time.

There are regular menu items too and every meal is customizable to your preference of protein and carbs. I can say that the meal service has really come in handy during busy times when I'm not able to do my own meal prep. Kendall and Linda run a great local business. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!

For most all of them, the vegetables are fresh and delicious, but Northern Fork's fruit is perfectly ripe and sweet. This way I never have to worry about getting a sour piece of fruit. The other thing is that I don't normally choose vegan food, but Northern Fork has managed to make everything taste delicious.
