We should have walked out when saw glass door that was so dirty with finger prints and everything else u hardly could see inside. Saw a few takeout orders come in and out so we reluctantly then Ordered food at counter to then be told after sitting down they were out of what I ordered so I had to order something different. Sat down at table which was so sticky my forearms stuck to it, napkin holder on table was so dusty my finger left mark when drug it across it. Place looked like it had never been cleaned or updated in years. Lights above had bugs galore in lightcover, floors/baseboards dirty, fans above on their last leg/blades. Windows also needed cleaning. By then I still wanted to walk out but I needed to see what the food was like. Trying to give benefit of doubt. Service very slow, looked short staffed. Hoping they washed hands at some point no gloves used with server taking orders, collecting money and touching food/cooking in plain view. When food arrived it looked ok until I tasted the coleslaw it was very bad, looked discolored and tasted old needless to say didn't eat it after one bite, my husband spit his out, then came the fried fish, I wasn't impressed no flavor parts of fish was just batter no meat, also the batter didn't stay on onion rings so as soon as u picked them up batter would fall off onion, Hush puppies tasted old not fresh, definitely frozen great value brand or worse. Didn't finish our meal and that's not like my husband he always finishes. Everything tasted same probably fried all in same grease. Still can't believe we stayed and (ate what we could)of the food. Sadly the food never gets photos because I'm just that hungry and / or ready to taste hot out of the oil onion rings. EVERYTHING is freshly breaded or battered. I watched them from my truck cut onions and bread them then throw them into the oil kind of fresh! My husband says their gravy and REAL chicken strips are top notch. Their burgers are not pre-formed patties of fake hamburger substance. These are hamburgers they make themselves and are excellent. I used to wonder why the Dairy Queen in Jasper went out of business but not anymore. Their baskets are worth every penny and are huge portions. This is owned by a very kind couple and although I don't know them by name YET, I will. He just hand delivered my meal to the truck with a smile. love this place

Twilight zone time!!!!! We drive up to what we think is the diner and the big sign in front says "Dorothy and Debs Redneck Diner" and that they have moved to a new address and listed the address. "Y'all come back diner" was written on the glass which was covered with aluminium foil. It looks like a happening place with all the cars parked outside and people are coming and going, but with aluminium covering the glass you can't really tell so we go looking for the other place and it wasn't there! So.....we go back and decide to go ahead and walk in.... Sure enough it's a diner!!! Aesthetics are definitely not a redneck priority. Freezers out in the open and everything in disarray. The menu was not updated (Dorothy and Debs) and listed the hours on front and closed on Sunday, but we were there on Sunday!! But......in spite of all the confusion, it was the best breakfast we've had in a long time. Everything we had was great!! Eggs and bacon cooked to perfection. Sausage gravy and biscuits.. excellent!!
