We have had a number of great meals at Fiorello's and love going there. The owners are very friendly, even during the sometimes hectic rushes of take out orders. They alway take the time to go through our order and double check the details if we request some adjustment to the dishes. If something doesn't seem right, they don't argue, they just do their best to make it right. Our favorites include the penne arrabiatta, penne ala vodka, and the pizza. They always include some great bread and focaccia. The entrees are generously portioned and we tend to over order...because the leftovers still taste great the next day. read more

This is by far the beat Italian restaurant in the area. The service is always phenomenal, and the food is excellent. This is one of the very few restaurants where I can say that the food is well worth the price. The quality in the ingredients, preparation, and presentation is definitely there. I waited until I'd eaten food from this place several times to make sure they were consistently good before throwing 5 stars at them. I can now safely say this is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Rt 3 corridor area. There are a ton of Italian restaurants around there, and I have eaten in several of them and all of them seem to be at minimum okay, but none of them really grabbed me until I hit Fiorello's. I didn't have great expectations since this place is not in the downtown WC boro restaurant district and instead is hovering on the edge of town next to a busy Wawa and across from a Pep Boys, but don't let that put you off, it's a hidden gem. (And although the parking lot is smallish, at least they HAVE their own lot and it's FREE, which is a joy given how hard it is to park in the downtown boro without having to fork over 5 or 10 dollars or risk a ticket). The dishes here are traditional - this is not an adventurous place - but that's fine, I just want the kind of food my Italian grandmother would cook if I were actually Italian and had such a relative. I'm impressed by the freshness of the ingredients, including the pasta. Lots of places around here make okay spaghetti and penne - it seems like every pizza/ hoagie place sells a little pasta on the side - but this place has spoiled me for anybody else's pasta. Although I can go for a nice marinara sauce about half the time, I also like the sauces that aren't tomato-ey and Fiorello's delivers with a variety of good sauces (brown, vodka, white wine, garlic and oil) on different pastas matched to the appropriate sauce. I'd love to see them do even more dishes with non-marinara sauce. Their fried calimari is also to die for. Portions of everything here are easily 2 meals worth. So far I've been getting all the food for takeout since I usually go on lunch breaks from work, but we'll have to go for a sit-down soon as the restaurant is very cute inside and the lunch buffet, which I've seen when picking up my food, looks pretty awesome. Like the other area Italian restaurants, this place gets a bit noisy when crowded, but it has the advantage of being quite tiny inside compared with a couple of the multi-roomed Italian places up the road in Edgmont area. The noise therefore decreases due to having fewer people eating at once. There are also some tables outside, where you can look at pretty flowers (and, alas, heavy traffic and Pep Boys, but that's not the restaurant's fault). Because this is a small place, I would definitely suggest a reservation for dinner, especially if you're bringing a group. The one thing I am not a fan of is their brick oven pizza, which I was hoping would be a bit more along the lines of the pizzas I had in Italy with crispier crust. Unfortunately, the crust here is the same limp and slightly doughy Chesco version of "New York Style" that I've run into elsewhere in this area, just better made. However, the pizzas and their toppings are very high quality and fresh, and on the large side, so if you like the local version of pizza crust, you should be well pleased with these. Apart from the lunch buffet, which is a good deal, the place is a little on the pricey side, but this being a wealthy area and the food being high quality and large portions, I'd rather spend the money and get something good than get cheaper and less good pasta somewhere else. read more

I just tried Fiorello's for the first time and was very happy with my meal. When you first sit down, they give you a basket of homemade bread and tomato pie. The tomato pie was doused with fresh garlic, which I LOVE. Everyone at my table ordered something to share. I ordered the Calzone Del Salumiere. The crust was light and flakey and it was stuffed with meats. I'm happy I was sharing because this thing was huge. I still got another meal out of it the next day. My friend ordered the gnocchi and asked for it in their vodka sauce. The sauce was the best vodka sauce I had ever tasted. Our calamari appetizer had a light and flakey batter. Been there many times and the food is great, but they have a regular turnover of staff and they are mis-managed, confused and overwhelmed!! Had the lunch buffet and the food was quite good. Reason for the 3 stars is that it is basically a vegetarian buffet with a a bit of seafood. If you are a meat eater you will probably be disappointed. The roasted vegetables were really delicious. Especially the eggplant and asparagus. Cannolis were disappointing in that the shells were soft. There were two types of pizza. I tried the one with no cheese, just tomato and garlic. Very good but the garlic was powerful. I was hoping there would be sausage or meatballs somewhere in the lineup but there wasn't. There was one pasta dish that was mushroom and spinach which was enjoyable. Apparently the type of pasta changes daily. The previous day it was a seafood pasta which would be bad news for anyone with a seafood allergy because there was no other pasta dish to choose from. read more

I had made reservations for 8 people for my daughter's graduation lunch. Communication was horrible. Had to call numerous times to order a cake, verify the cake was ordered and get a price. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was empty but our table was still not put together. I asked if I could order a bottle of wine for the table, waitress said red or white then walked away. Came back and put a bottle on the table. Never asking about what kind of red or the PRICE of the bottle. Took forever to get wine glasses and the wine opened. We ordered, were never told about the specials. Salads arrived before the appetizers, dishes were never cleared. We had to ask for more water repeatedly. Waitress was gone for over 20 minutes after we finished our meal. Had to ask someone at the bar for to go boxes. Even then, no one came to our table. Had to go to the register to ask if our waitress was ever coming back then when she walked back to the table with an attitude about how she will get all the dirty dishes. Meanwhile, there were still salad dishes on the table! Could not make eye contact with anyone. The 'manager' was walking around worrying about bar glasses instead of paying attention to customers. We asked for the overpriced cake to be boxed and got more attitude from the waitress because she suddenly wanted to serve us. Never again. Food was ok, nothing special. Will never return and ruined a very special day. Table next to us was also complaining, so this must be a theme. Please don't waste your money. I'm not sure if Fiorello's is under new ownership/management, but I've been disappointed in our takeout from here the last three times. This makes me so sad because this was my favorite local Italian restaurant, especially for take out. Their Caesar Salad used to taste homemade and delicious. Now the dressing tastes like it comes from a bottle. Our mozzarella sticks had O% cheese inside, our pizza crust was tough, and the chicken parm tasted off. Usually Fiorello's food is ON POINT. The food is ok. Pasta was a bit overcooked. Not the worst meal I've had but far from the best. The service, as stated in some other reviews, is definitely bad when speaking of the tall gentleman who is tasked with being a server. If I have to imagine his back story it'd be that he was told that coming to america would make him rich and he'd have beautiful american girls fawning over his accent. Then when he finally got here he found that the money didn't come as easily as he was lead to believe and his accent didn't help with the ladies. This leads to him spending his days reminiscing about his youth and how he could have been a movie star back home. It's quite a shame because this place seems like a nice family run spot. My husband and I came here on a Saturday night for an authentic Italian meal! Unfortunately we left pretty disappointed. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I was pretty bothered by our experience. The waitress only spoke to my husband throughout the entire meal! She offered him the specials, speaking directly towards him and didn't turn once to look at me. After placing our salads on the table, she looked directly at him, and asked if he wanted fresh pepper. Once he responded with "no thank you", she immediately walked away, again, not even bothering to ask or look at me. Once we were finished, she looked directly at my husband and asked if HE was finished. After asking him 3 times if HE was ready for the check, she finally placed it right in front of him. Ironically, I was paying for the meal that evening, not him. Besides that, the food was average, service was slow, and tables were crammed next to each other. My husband wanted a refill on his water but couldn't get one. Bread was yummy, but that's about all. Like I said, I don't usually leave reviews but our service at this place really bothered us! Mangia! Mangia! Family owned & operated. Love it. Walking into the aroma of fresh garlic and overhearing Italian chatter from the kitchen is my kind of experience. The calamari was done perfectly. Fresh, light and didn't even need the scrumptious marinara it was served with. The Frutti Di Mare pizza was smothered in shrimp clams & mussels. It was hard to even see the pizza but my friend loved it. I ordered the manicotti. I rarely order this out because it always seems to disappoint be but my oh my...just like that....devoured. This feels like a very nice homey, family run kind of place. The food portions are huge, so you won't leave hungry. I like it here, but the food can be variable between really tasty and good to unmemorable. We have been here twice and the service has been inconsistent, from attentive and friendly to cold and forgetting things like a fork. The artichokes are great, the pizza bread that you get in the bread basket is almost a meal in itself, but it's not hot. My veal dish was cooked well, the veal wasn't tough, but the sauce was a bit sweet. All in all, decent and prices are fair also. read more

Still awesome as ever BUT... My boyfriend made reservations for here on my birthday. When he called he asked them to make note that it was my birthday and he'd like to purchase a slice of cake with candle in it to be brought out to me as a dessert. They said it would not be a problem. We got there, shard a bottle of wine, ate an amazing dinner (as always) and was then offered dessert.... my boyfriend thought the waitress was just playing coy. Well, when we received the check without any dessert, he knew they had forgotten. Out in the parking lot, I made a comment of how I thought he would have "surprised" me with a slice of cake and he explained the entire thing to me. We both agreed that he should have been more assertive at the time but it was still a huge disappointment for me and I felt bad for him, too! As one of Italian cookery I am not given to Italian restaurants. Yet, at the advice of friends of similar background I thought I would try Fiorello's. Even with that advice I was most dubious of an afternoon buffet. I could not have been more mistaken. Fiorello's lunch buffet goes beyond all expectations and doubts. We arrived around 1. The line was extensive. It seemed that every business in the area was having their company Christmas party there. After a bit of a wait we were seated at very nice table for two in a small alcove. The antipasto board offers more items that can be listed. The best, however, was the caponata: with bread like a dessert. Several varieties of pizza line the backboard. The clams and mussels need to be enjoyed in their own bowl, also with a good slice of bread for dipping. Various other entrees offer a substantial main course. Cannoli and espresso stand ready for dessert. The service is excellent. They could not have been more affable and helpful even with a crowded house. Went to dinner at Fiorello's on a busy Friday evening. When we called to make a reservation, they said they were booked for the evening - however we were still able to make a reservation through Opentable.com. Luckily for us they honored the reservation, but not sure why there was a discrepancy. It was unfortunate that the food was pretty good, because the service was terrible. We were rushed the entire duration of our stay to order, have my plate cleared before the other diner at the table had finished eating, rushed us the check, and as soon as we had paid our bill we were asked to leave to make room for the next party. I understand maybe if we were late on a reservation, overstayed our welcome, or maybe even if we had not ordered both entrees and wine. We were prompt for our 6pm reservation and were asked to leave at 7:38. Normal tables should be scheduled for 2 hours. I was astonished at the gall of the staff for approaching us, considering there was a young couple 2 tables away that were just sitting around with their meals packaged in front of them. I blame bias against dinner for 2 women and/or that we had a living social deal. If you are going to treat your coupon bearers poorly, do not offer them in the first place or set restrictions about limiting on the weekends. Bottom line is, I will NOT be dining at Fiorello's again, and will make sure to spread the word of my poor experience. read more

We had dinner with some friends at Café Fiorello in West Chester. The food was good and the portions were huge. We shared two appetizers among the four of us--tomato and mozzarella salad that was good and fresh and fried artichokes that were tasty. The main dishes come with a salad that was pretty basic. The main courses were good with one exception. I had Spaghetti Carbonera that was good, at least the one or two bites I had. I was so full that I just boxed it up and ate it the next day. My wife had linguine al vongole that was very good. Our female friend had a pasta with seafood that was also good. Our male friend had blackened grouper that was not blackened, so he was a bit disappointed. The only other complaint was that those who ordered iced tea were served it already sweetened. This is outrageous! Pennsylvania is not the South! Our tea is served unsweetened, allowing the drinker to add sweetener (or not) as he or she would like. Serving sweetened tea is a dangerous trend that must be stopped and stopped now! read more

Was impressed by the Yelp reviews so we decided to get some food for take out. Spoke with a very friendly Italian woman on the phone to place the order. Said it would take 20 minutes time. Fortunately for us the restaurant is not far and located before you get deep into West Chester on Rt 3 so getting back out of town is a snap, We ordered a chicken parmigiana with spaghetti, a baked rigatoni, a meatball and two pieces of sausage. Each came with a salad of lettuce, cukes and a Tomatoe and a balsamic vinaigrette. Nothing special but ok. It also comes with bread and some slices of Tomatoe bread with garlic. The food was ready exactly as promised. The restaurant is nice with a small bar and a brick pizza oven. The chicken parm was delicious as was the rigatoni. The meatball was fair. Sausage was good. This is a good spot and we will return. Definitely going to eat in sometime as well. read more

Solid Italian in West Chester. We come back often for a home style ( not as good as home, but a good alternative) meal. The food has always been tasty and the service is warm and attentive. The price's are good for the quality and quantity of food. It's always nice to walk in and hear the family chatting in Italian. The take out Pizza is really good, one of the best pizza's in the area.
