I've bn meaning to stop here like 101 times... Finally did yesterday! Impressed... It's a lot bigger inside than expected plenty of seating and as the name goes, the decor is books, bookshelves and script wall paper! Menu is packed with cafe regulars yet variety of healthy choices, did I mention wine too ;-) ...!!! Staff were very friendly, though in ordering my fries were forgotten! They must have known my diet guilt was festering! Out arrived a delicious Cajun chicken ciabatta with lovely side salad though my fries were no where to be seen however politely after a min or two waitress approached to say chips on the way and well, they took another 5 mins or so... Nice cover up though!!! Reasonable with decent eat plus sparkling water €13 and pleasantly stuffed! For me, they've a lot of bench seats which I find are actually too high up for the tables so made it a smidge uncomfortable particularly as I was there for a relaxing eat & read of a book - will opt for chair seating next time... Oh oh oh...! Note they have decent outdoor seating space and it's a sun trap during the day - perfect summer day to unwind with friends

Big fan of the all day breakfast, delicious eggs benedict. The interior is stylish but comfy and it is also quite pocket-friendly.

It overlooks the peoples park and in the near distance, the sea. I went there for Christmas lunch with my family and it was a great lunch and I have absolutely zero complaints about the food quality, it was top nosh! The reason it loses a couple stars though are because the menu is very small and limited so you can't be a picky eater, luckily I eat everything but that's not the case for a lot of others. The fact that it's made from redbrick and glass also means that it's very very loud inside with everyone talking as it doesn't absorb any sound and it just bounces around the room, very hard to hear your own conversation. And my final complaint / warning is that the ginger beer they serve has a lot more ginger in it than you might expect, it's flavored naturally with powder ginger and really gives you a kick, so beware! Apart from a couple things if your looking for a decent place to eat, it really stands out over everywhere else in Dun laoghrie and the price is very moderate too!

When we arrived it was fairly empty, however as we ate it started to fill and by the time we were done the place was nearly full. I decided to go for one of my favourite and simple combos: wings and sweet potato fries. Wasn't disappointed. Really nicely done, plenty of food and could even share a few spares with the rest of the table to try. My friends ordered the burger, halloumi tacos and jerk chicken salad. All were very happy with their choices too. Next time I'll be checking out the cheeseburger spring rolls - sound intriguing! Lovely, friendly and chatty staff. There wasn't many on the floor but didn't have any issue getting their attention when needed and service was pretty quick. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of beer selection. From what I recall there was only Heineken and Tiger. I was really surprised to see a new restaurant, especially a modern style one with bespoke cocktails, lacking a range of craft beers. Not even one! If they owners are reading this review.. I'm happy to recommend some for you ;)

They seemed understaffed, and as a result, a little disorganized. We we standing right in front of the host stand, but it took 10 mins for them to take down our information. When they did, we watched them write down "blue coat" as their method for notifying us that our table was ready lol. Fortunately, no one else was wearing a blue coat, and we were seated after about 30 minutes. The restaurant is bright and spacious. It's a very pleasant place. The brunch menu is very reasonably priced. I split the kickstart and burger bowl with my husband. The kickstart was very basic, which was what we wanted. It had toast, bacon, poached eggs, tomatos and avocado puree. My only only qualm was that the avocado puree tasted a little stale - like it maybe wasn't made that day. I have a lot to say about the burger bowl, which was having a major identify crisis. I think it was trying to be a salad. There was a large slab of goat cheese on top of the burger, but the salad underneath it had large chunks of feta. Feta and goat don't go together. Pick one. The burger was thick and had potential. It would have been better if it wasn't well done, but we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked. I know a lot of places won't cook anything rarer than medium, but a well done burger is a travesty. The burger was served on a bed of mostly inedible greens - you know, the kind that look like artificial plants that your body would have some difficulty digesting. It was a greek salad with olives, feta, tomatoes, and onions, so you'd expect greek dressing to be an option, but it wasn't. You get either balsamic, tomato relish, or pesto. It was a strange meal, but not a bad one. When we were finished and ready to leave, it took us a while to chase down our server. They were very busy, so we understood. I'd come back for brunch, but I'm much more interested in trying their dinner tapas.
