IMHO, a must-visit spot in Dun Laoghaire (technically Sandycove), the retro French-Irish inspired cooking is enjoyable, if slightly dated. But the owner/chef is a real local character who is always willing to sit down and tell you a fine story or share his love of South African wines.
The signature dish you have to get is Lobster Thermidor, fresh from Bullock Harbor. He once took us into the kitchen to show us how to make it.
Yes, it's that kind of place, so just go with the flow.
