Had a day to myself today and explored Suffolk's historic district. Cafe Dâvina was my first stop and I would have been happy to spend hours here. The cafe has two seating areas, one bright warm and sunny the other a bit darker and cozy. Both are lovely. I choose to sit in a booth in the sun room overlooking the garden. I throughly enjoyed a Magnolia Bloom late and the prosciutto, goat cheese and fig crepe. Staff was friendly and accommodating! read more

This place is such a vibe! I cannot wait to go back. They were very polite and helpful with the menu. I am gluten free so I had questions. I ordered a crape with Prosciutto, goat cheese and fig, small late with rose and lavender, and a side of fruit. Everything was delicious! Then we ate outside in a magnolia tree! I love crepes and have been trying to find an experience to rival walking in the streets of Paris with a crepe...and although that's a tall order this place comes close with its ambience. First off, Cafe Davina is a small cart right next to The Pinner House. You get a choice of where you would want to sit on the property and there are some fantastic options for instance in the garden or around a fire pit! Have questions on where to sit? Ask the Barista, they are super friendly and will point you in the right direction! Let's talk about the food, I got a strawberry crepe and I wasn't that impressed to be honest. The taste was good, but it was a bit overpriced for the couple of strawberries I got. They had a few options both sweet and savory but overall I don't know if I would go back just for the crepes. Contender for the best coffee shop in Hampton Roads. I'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful or tasteful setting -- all of the rooms and seating areas are perfectly curated with a historic, airy vibe. Even more importantly, the owners genuinely care, and it shows. Every item on their menu is well executed, from the crepes to the homemade coffee flavorings, and they routinely put out seasonal items that rotate every couple of months. Suffolk desperately needed a spot like this! read more

I stopped by one gloomy Saturday for a cup of coffee after finding them in a list of suggested cafes on my phone. Ordered the macchiato, which is a true macchiato, not like the latte variety at Starbucks and I appreciated the barista taking the time to explain the coffee options to the customers. I also ordered the honey brie and fig jam crêpe which was perfect. It is a bit sweet. If I ordered it again, I'd ask for less honey drizzle, but the espresso helped balance that a bit. There is indoor and semi covered outdoor seating, the outdoor seating being the star of the show in my opinion. It's a beautiful spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Suffolk. Great spot to grab a friend or a nice book to catch up or relax for a bit. read more

We are traveling from Virginia Beach and my fiancé was looking for a clean place to eat and unique to the area for me. This was such a diamond in the rough! The directions led us to a residential community and we weren't expecting to drive up to a restored historic home turned into an air bnb/cafè. The cafe barista was sweet and the property was open for us to roam around in. There is also a large magnolia tree that has a doorway into it that they turned into an enclosed patio/seating area. The turkey panini goat cheese sandwich was delicious and I had the magnolia bloom signature latte (half sweetened) and it was great! I will say that the venue got me good and was a sweet surprise stop on our way to Richmond. We are from San Diego scoping out the East Coast for a possible relocation and everyone out here is so sweet, welcoming, and approachable! read more

The best gingerbread latte ever!! Omg it was so good. I asked about the gingerbread syrup and was told they make it themselves. I also had a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, amazing!! We went after the Historic Holiday Tours. I'm looking forward to going back and trying a crepe next time. read more
