    packaging

I'm very beyond angry with this cafe. My boyfriend and I checked out of the Westin today and I bought two ham and cheese sandwiches to enjoy on our way home. I couldn't see the sandwiches very well since they were packaged in a plastic box and heavily wrapped in saran wrap, which would be okay normally. However, when I opened the box to one of the sandwiches halfway home, I found that the cheese on this sandwich was furry and covered in mold. I was disgusted and threw the sandwiches away. So, we went home hungry after spending almost $30 on two sandwiches. Not only are they overpriced, but they were inedible. Also, I don't know how they would be able to tell whether these sandwiches are bad or not because the packaging had NO expiration labels on them. When I worked at Starbucks, ALL of our food was labeled with the day it was put out to customers and when to throw it away. That's not even the end of it. When I got home, I decided to call the hotel to report this. I wasn't expecting a refund since this is a small hotel cafe and I'm a state away. I just wanted to find out why this happened and make sure it doesn't happen again. Because what if someone doesn't spot the mold and eats it and ends up getting sick. So, a hotel representative picked up and sounded sentimental to my situation. However, she told me that the cafe is a 3rd party so she will have to transfer me to the cafe itself. Which would have been okay but I sat there with the phone ringing for over 20 minutes. At that point, I just hung up. Other than that, the coffee made me sick so the milk could have been expired too. Who knows. Please don't eat the food here. I don't want anyone to waste their money, get sick, or both.

The folded egg sandwich is phenomenal, but the real game-changer is adding their house-made turkey sausage. I tried it once, and now it's hard to order anything else. It's packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The pastries are just as impressive. I had a seasonal peach Danish that was incredible, and the peach monkey bread with vanilla glaze was absolutely out of this world. Thankfully I had a couple of people to share it with, because otherwise I probably would've eaten the whole thing myself. The coffee is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is warm and tucked away from the hustle, and you can tell they care about every detail. One thing many people may not realize is that their brioche buns are so good they're featured at other popular neighborhood restaurants. Great food. Great coffee. Great people. Every visit reminds me why this place has earned a permanent spot on my list. If you're anywhere near Inglewood, do yourself a favor and stop by. You'll probably be planning your next visit before you leave.

The location was clean, but I did notice the ripped up chairs that we sat in at the tall tables near the door. Customer Service was very good. The young lady was very nice. She seemed to be a little overwhelmed, working all of the tables on the inside and the outside. After we had been there about 20 minutes, a second person was assisting, but most of the responsibilities were on our server. Therefore things were a little bit slow. I ordered the veggie omelette. My husband ordered the bully omelette. I ordered grits. He ordered potatoes. The grits were smooth, creamy and buttery. I would definitely order them again. My omelette was ok. My husband said the same thing about his omelette. The potatoes however, looked like frozen potatoes and they were not seasoned well. When you come out to breakfast for $18 a plate you expect fresh potatoes. We both ordered the sourdough toast. It took a long time for them to bring out the toast. We had finished half our meal and had requested toast twice before we received our overcooked, very hard and crunchy burnt sourdough toast. I did bring the toast issue to the attention of our server and she offered to make more. Because it was so late into our meal we just declined. My husband, he said he would not be back. For me, I'll come back and get a bowl of grits to go since I work nearby. My coworker comes here all the time and says sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a miss. I would agree.

The mural on the wall is a gorgeous depiction of LA, the vibe inside is warm and inviting. Coffee first: it was soooo good. They had decaf espresso, which was such a fun surprise, and I got an oatmilk hazelnut latte that honestly beat most coffee shops I've been to. Food was a hit across the board. My daughter got the sausage breakfast burrito, huge portion and she loved it. My son had the lox bagel, beautifully presented, and he really enjoyed it (kind of made me wish I'd ordered that instead). My wife had the chilaquiles with chorizo, perfect portion size, she scarfed the whole thing down and topped it off with a michelada she loved. I got the chorizo and eggs, and the beans were the surprise star of the plate. The owners were friendly and welcoming too. This place deserves way more business. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

The mocha barely tasted like chocolate, and the coffee left this weird gritty feeling on my tongue. Chicken and waffles were just alright too, the chicken was super thin and had no seasoning, so it was bland. I don't know, maybe their lunch is better, but breakfast definitely needs some work.

Hubbys cocoa cold foam was good chocolaty. Lox bagel has generous smoked salmon, bagel was soft and chewy. Overall good food and vibe. Maybe I'll try the coffee here next time.
